News last night that Newcastle’s 20 year old defender Ben Tozer has rejoined Northampton Town, for another loan spell of one month.
Ben Tozer – has returned to Northampton
The 6’1″ defender had been on loan for a month, but in his final game of that loan spell on 16th October, he was sent off after 87 minutes in the 4-3 home defeat against Hereford – after Northampton had been 3-0 up at the half and until the 59th minute of that game, before conceding 4 goals in 31 minutes.
Now that his three game suspension has been served, it looks like Northampton have resigned him for another month, and that’s good for the lad, because he will continue to get some games.
Indeed, Ben was in the team for the excellent 2-0 at Lincoln City last night, when Ben returned to action at center-back for his 7th game for The Cobblers, and Dean Beckwith and John Johnson got the goals.
Northampton have won their last two games, including a good 2-0 win at second bottom Lincoln City last night, and have now moved up to 19th position of the 24 teams in League Two.
Ben is also eligible for Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Forest Green.
Tozer signed for Newcastle in January of 2008 from Swindon Town, and has a contract with the Magpies until the summer of 2012 and has appeared a couple of times for Newcastle’s first team.
