News Of The World Out To Disrupt Newcastle – Again

The News Of the World came out today with just a ridiculous story – yes even for them – that claimed that cocaine was found on a table in Nolan’s house after a night out with Andy Carroll.

Probably in order to reduce their legal liability, the newspaper stressed there was no evidence either player had taken the drug.

And Newcastle United have done the exact right thing, by issuing the following statement tonight:

The Club notes the story in News Of The World today and has passed the matter to its legal advisers.

Both Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll categorically deny having any knowledge that drugs had been brought onto the premises and are pleased that the paper does not even allege that they were aware of the presence of drugs.

Neither player would ever contemplate taking drugs or condone the use of such substances.  The Club and the players named are sure that if the editor felt his story had any truth he would already have reported this to the police.

The Club and the players named will be happy to cooperate fully with any police investigation.

This is nothing but an attempt to throw a spanner in the works of the Newcastle United club, and we have to hope that Newcastle go ahead and sue this paper – they’ve gone too far this time.

We’re pleased Newcastle have come out immediately to nip this outlandish story in the bud – it’s just complete rubbish – but it’s the NOTW after all – and that’s the game this newspaper has been in for many decades.

Comments welcome.

Getting lashed out after a great derby win and having a threesome…..shame? What shame?

I reckon Carroll sold the story to spread the news he had a threesome!!!!

21 year old had sex, wow, seriously who cares? NOTW put tits everywhere, then moan when a footballer shags a few lasses.

These girls must have been plants by the NOTW, How else would anyone know they were at Kev`s house last Sunday if indeed they were which is doubtful to say the least? Absolute crap!! Look it`s simple, the cockney press don`t want us to achieve, when we do?? We are probably the biggest club to underachieve, so WE ARE BIG NEWS!!

Gutter journalism, who’ll stop at nothing to drag our name (or anyone else’s for that matter), through the dirt.

In fact, Talksport, the radio station, are fast becoming the radio equivalent.

They spread lies and get away with it and it’s a disgrace. More so the people who buy these rags and the sad souls who believe it’s printed rubbish.

Team performance today but my motm Colo. 5 past the mackems and now our first win at the emirates, whatever next.

Once everything is starting to go perfect someone or some sh!t has to ruin it all the time, i mean all THE TIME! We beat West Ham, than absolutely smashed and rocked the mackems! Then we beat a strong arsenal side. Now somebody has to mess it up.

Who cares what the media spouts? I hope we sue the crap out of them for defamation.

Anyway it doesn’t matter what lies they make up, they can’t get away from the fact that we’ve just beaten w.ham, sunderland arsenal in a row in the league, and are on top form.

Why do you guys think the southern media hate seeing us play well and get results? Maybe they have a chip on thier shoulders about london (or manchester) clubs and how they are supposed to be better than the fickle-fat-shirtless toon? Well the irony is, they’ve come to hate the streotype that they’ve created. Believe it or not, we dont all call for heads to roll after a bad result, or expect to sign mourinho to win us the league next week. But that is how we are portrayed, every time. The whole situation with CH’s contract talks is the prime example. I didnt hear anyone complaining about him that much after a couple poor home results, yet we all wanted him out and thus he was under pressure?

My point is, hopefully the shouting from the roof-tops by players and fans alike that we are a unit, united and all pulling in the same direction as a club over the course of this season, which has been demonstrated on the pitch today and in the other great results/performances we’ve had this season, will shut the brain-dead media up and get them off our backs. What do we have to do to get the media to say it like it is, i.e in a positive perspective, rather than fabricate lies in order to futher satisfy their self-inflicted prejudices?

Rant over. What a day! Mon the toon!

Many years ago I worked in Essex, and one of the regulars in the local pub was a NOTW journo, however, this particular individual was often seen in the toilets chucking white powder in his face. I wonder if the drug squad raided the NOTW headquarters how much charlie would be found in that building… I’m betting it’s quite a lot? People in glass houses and all that?

I refuse to let the scurrilous and disgusting rubbish in the NOTW detract from our wonderful deserved victory at Arsenal. Time for their reporters to be barred from St James Park. As far as it seems then the whole article is malicious and needs to be dealt with by the club’s lawyers. A typical sour grapes comment from Hollins on the BBC this Monday morning too – according to him we “stole” the points. A valuless comment considering his London connections.

Just downloaded a “load” on this matter from the latest The Sun. I am getting the impression there is an anti-NUFC surge on the way by the London based gutter press. We the fans and supporters must stand by the club and CH and the players on this. Whatever the truth it is not what is being luridly printed in todays trashy press.

Carroll is playing a dangerous game. Hanging around with notorious dealers and gangsters is bound to set journalists tongues wagging and looking for a story. They didn’t find it this time but unfortunately this tale may develop unless the lad sorts his head out
