Andy Carroll Withdraws From England Squad With Groin Injury

There is some breaking news that The Sun is reporting, that Andy Carroll has been forced to pull out of the England squad with a groin injury.

Andy Carroll – out 2 weeks with groin injury

The Newcastle striker, 21, was ready to make his England debut against France on Wednesday night, but it seems he picked up a groin strain in yesterday’s match against Fulham.

West Ham’s Carlton Cole has been called up to replace Andy in the England squad.

This is bad news for Newcastle, as we already have Joey Barton banned for 3 games and Cheick Tiote picked up his 5th yellow card yesterday and will also miss the game at Bolton this Saturday.

It seems like our best players are going down like nine pins for one reason or another.

This is very unfortunate for Andy, but we remember when he was left out of the last England squad, he also would have been unable to play, having picked up a minor injury the weekend before.

But this time it seems he will be out for at least a couple of weeks.

Comments welcome.

i’m not sure it’s true, on such a ‘big’ issue like this that all the other papers have been talking about the choice, its surprising that only the Sun out of EVERY other paper is reporting this.

Even Sky sports havent picked up on this..

I feel if this is true however for Bolton Hughton will have to revert to one of the following…

    ——————————Krul————————-

    —-Simpson———Colo——Wili——-Enrique–

    —Routledge——–Smith——Guthrie—-Jonas–
    ——————————-Nolan———————-
    —————————Loven/Ranger————–

    or

    ——————————Krul————————-

    —-Simpson———Colo——Wili——-Enrique–

    —Routledge——-Nolan——-Guthrie—-Jonas–

    ———————–Loven——–Ranger————

Remember this is still a rumor and has not been confirmed by Andy Carroll or officals yet, so whether or not this is true, it could be a big blow for Newcastle

    How?

He played the entire game yesterday. The players have no training today.

Unless he played with an injury or got injured in the warm-down, I wouldn’t trust it

Can’t imagine how Andy’s feeling at the minute. His big chance to prove himself gone.

But on another note. Wouldn’t he of known about the injury when Capello give him the call yesterday evening?

    Exactly, GG!

Somehow between the call yesterday and this morning he’s picked up a groin injury.

    Doubtful.

i would love to see Xisco play along with Carroll, CH need to make sub sometimes, because other manager will know your weakness when you always use the same player, and also i think some player will feel tired, not fixed enough, that all my opinion.

I trust with the ability that CH have, because only he know what happen on the training and pitch, i just give my opinion not comment on CH managing. TQ

Hope CH will come up with a brilliant tactic without all his key men. Really excited to see the starting XI of our next match. Now is the time our fringe players show what they are made of!

    In the absence of Carrol/Tiote/Barton maybe controversial but would try the following;
    —————-Krul
    Simpson—Wills—Sol——Jose
    —————-Collo
    Jonas—Guthrey—Nolan—Lovan
    ————–Ranger

Carroll deserves his call up but only because there is a dearth of talent in the England set up.Ccarroll or Shearer?? Hard one isn’t it. Its called FOOTball and I think Carroll has scored in one game out of 13 with his feet when he got a hattrick. Mind you, Hoots does set the team to to play headball but that seems to be OK nowadays

Strong enough to convert chances? Both got is quite a good player but..still missing the “speical thing” which makes them very avg.

Hope they can try hard enough.

its good to hear newcastle players gettin england call ups.though i myself wouldnt let carroll play it shows we still got international class players.we’re 7th now rite .we play bolton next whose 5th.a win there would be good as it shows we need some new players in Jan.a 5th or 6th ranked team can get more ‘better’ players than being 16th or 17th.whats news of steve taylor?i realy am missing HBA.and imo as much as ameobi can delight us i really want to see a new fresh young striker by Jan.
