If Andy Carroll ever thought he wasn’t held in high esteem by both Fabio Capello and the rest of the England hierarchy, he may have to change his mind, as he seems to have been handled with kit gloves at the England camp.
Fabio Capello – Andy is England’s future
It appears that Fabio Capello is very anxious that the 21 year-old play some part in the game against France on Wednesday night, even if it’s just a short substitute appearance because of his troublesome groin, which could still heal fully by tomorrow night.
And Fabio has come out and said he thinks that Andy is not only a very good technical player, but he’s the future of England.
This is what Fabio Capello said last night:
“Andy is the classic English center forward but he is good, also, technically. He’s a very interesting player.”
“He is young and I hope his performance against France will be good because he is the future for our team.”
Fabio has always played with a big player up front and has used Emile Heskey a lot, but perhaps Fabio is excited because Andy does everything that Emile does, but scores goals too.
We have to hope that Andy is fit enough to play tomorrow night, but the very last thing we want to happen is that he plays and is then further injured and misses the important game at Bolton.
That’s the thing that used to happen with Michael Owen, who often came back injured after an England call-up.
