Carroll On Cloud Nine – Now For Bolton Wanderers

Andy Carroll is now back in Newcastle, and he’s fit and will be ready to go at Bolton on Saturday – thank goodness!

Andrew Carroll – next up Bolton Wanderers

And Andy seems on cloud nine today, as he talked about making his debut for the England National side last night, to the local Evening Chronicle:

“I was happy with my performance on the night and it obviously leaves you wanting to experience a bit more.” “For me it was a great experience to be out there and playing with top international players.”

“I’ve really enjoyed it.”

“The atmosphere to play in front of 86,000 people was a real buzz and it’s something I’ll never forget.” “Now I’m just looking forward to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.”

It was a real soap opera with Andy playing for England, with him getting injured late in the game against Fulham, reporting to the England camp, Fabio Capello saying he would start for England and then the Newcastle club questioning whether he was really fit to play.

Well it all turned out really well for Newcastle and Andy in the end, and maybe the only thing that was missing was an Andy Carroll goal, but the England side have to work on how to use Andy’s big strengths – as Chris Hughton has already done on Tyneside.

We have no doubt at all that Chris Hughton will be taking Andy aside soon and before the Bolton game, and telling him the only thing that matters right now is to prepare himself to play well at Bolton – nothing else matters.

And then he’ll give him the same talk for the next game at home to Chelsea. 😀

Andy is very lucky that he’s being coached by Chris Hughton, who over the last 16 months seems to have proved he is a coach of the very highest caliber – he seems a student of the game of football.

And because of  Andy’s great potential and with the sound coaching of  Chris Hughton to go along with that, we expect Andy Carroll to get better and better, and just how good he becomes seems to be entirely up to him.

Andy is certainly the man of the moment in English football right now, and what a prospect we have in this local lad!

Comments welcome.
