Newcastle Reported After French International Striker

Newcastle manager Chris Hughton has said that the club will not be entering the transfer market in January, but that doesn’t stop Newcastle being linked in the press with many players.

Kevin Gameiro – one cap so far for France

A report is out today that Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham are all interested in signing FC Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro .

The news is coming from the French press and specifically from the Tutto Mercato Web site.

And other European clubs, including Monaco, Hamburg, Schalke 04 and Benfica are also linked with the the 23-year-old, who has so far played once for France.

Gameiro’s can play one either wing or up front as a striker, or even as a withdrawn striker, which is the role Kevin Nolan often plays at Newcastle.

The Frenchman started his career with Strasbourg back in 2005, and before moving to Lorient in 2008, after Strasbourg were relegated to Ligue 2, he had played 68 times with 17 goals for the French club.

At Lorent he has so far played 87 times with 34 goals, so he seems to have a good knack of scoring those goals.

Gameiro has represented France internationally at under-18, under-20, and under-21 level.

Last August Gameiro was finally called up to the senior team by new manager Laurent Blanc, for the team’s UEFA Euro 2012 qualification matches against Belarus and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

And the 5’8″ Senlis-born player made his senior France debut in the match against Belarus, coming on as a substitute in the second half.

It would be good if we had a report button linked to each post so that we can deal with rubbish like this effectively!

is a very good player, has speed, dribbling, scoring, I do not like comparing players that all have their qualities, but for those who have not seen him play, I say that his style of play is much like Fernando Torres of Liverpool. bad that his firm would cost around 7 million euros.
