Didier Drogba Waxes Lyrical About Star Player Cheick Tiote

There were some tough tussles in the game yesterday between Ivorian team mates Didier Drogba and our own Cheick Tiote,  and Didier ha come out today and said that Cheick is already a good player, but we’ve only seen half of him so far,  and that Newcastle have a star player on their hands.

Well, that sounds good to us.

And Drogba has talked in glowing terms to the press today, about his Ivory Coast team-mate:

“He is a very good player – he played very well against us, and did well for his team,”

“For the Ivory Coast, he’s a very important player for us, as people saw in the World Cup for our national team. I think Newcastle United supporters have only seen half of his potential so far.”

“You have only seen half the player. I say that because the more he plays in the Premier League at first-team level, the better he will become.” “I think he’s going to go on and be one of the strongest players in this league.”

“I have to say that, physically, he’s a bit stronger than me, and that means he will be a lot better for it.” “Newcastle have a star player on their hands, and the fans should be pleased.”

We know the two players are good friends off the pitch,  but that’s still a glowing statement about Cheick from his mate, Drogba.

And we have to say we like the half of Cheick we’ve seen so far, and this lad is turning out to be one terrific buy for Newcastle United,  at just £3.5M, and it could be we’ve bought ourselves a world class player for that money.

He’s already worth a lot more than £3.5M in the transfer market, after his performances this season for Newcastle, and of course his Ivory Coast manager, Sven Eriksson,  has already said what a great player the lads is.

Cheick is a tough tackling,  exciting and very good player already, and he’s so important for this Newcastle side, as we all saw last week, when he was missing and we were whacked at Bolton  Wanderers.

A terrific signing for the Tyneside club and he was a revelation yesterday, and the fact he’s admitted he sends  money back to the Ivory Coast for his 5 brothers and 3 sisters – means he’s already captured the hearts of  many Newcastle fans everywhere.

These are the types of  characters we love to see playing for Newcastle United.

Only seen half of him???!!! I can#t wait to see him fulfil his potential then, as he already seems to do the work of 2 men. Come next year, he should handle midfield all by himself if Drogba’s words are anything to go by?

How about bringing the 5 brothers over?
If they are anything like Cheik, that’s more than half the team sorted….

I agree completely. He is an essential piece to this team right now. He played a massive role in the Chelsea game and was definitely the man that I thought we were missing against Bolton. He works hard and distributes well. As Drogba said, once he gets used to this league he will be a huge star. Don’t him go CH!!!
