Kevin Nolan Will Miss West Brom Game

It was a surprise when Kevin Nolan didn’t make the squad yesterday against Chelsea, but it turns out Kevin has had his ankle play up again.

Kevin Nolan – misses West Brom game too
And it seems that the captain is already ruled out for the important game next Sunday at WBA, which has a KO time of 1:30 pm.

The goal of that game has to be to try to pick up all 3 points to get over our lull of just 2 points form the last 12 at the moment.

The good news is the in-form Joey Barton will return to the team next Sunday from his suspension, but Chris today confirmed that Kevin will not make it:

“Unfortunately for Kevin he’s been carrying this ankle problem for a while now. He’s a really tough character .”

“He’s been playing through it but he’s at a stage now where it’s come to a head,”

“He’ll have an injection in it on Monday and will miss the weekend game but hopefully he’ll be fit after that.”

It’s never a wise thing to play with an injury so we’re pleased that Kevin Nolan will get a rest, as we need Nolan for the rest of the season.

Chris Hughton will hardly make many changes for next week, and we expect Barton to come in to the side in midfield in place of Danny Guthrie, but Routledge has earned another start with his good display yesterday.

It’s just a thought, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Jonas put a shift in at Nolan’s usual spot in his absence. Shame we haven’t got any cover for the wide left for us to give it a try. Besides, it would be a shame to break up the the understanding he has with the Bull too? Back to the drawing (dreaming?) board then.

My team for west brom would be team in no.1 but with Ranger instead of Mcloven a think ranger is looking good when he comes on and he will cause west brom problems with his pace and strength and will be ideal to get onto carrolls flicks and knock downs as ameobi isnt quick enough to get to them defo wouldnt start mcloven hes been awful everytime hes played plus he wants to leave anyways

Jonas decision making and crossing was awful at times yest, Campbell was all at sea for chelsea goal, guthrie deliverly frm free kicks, corners was terrible between them they ave cud cost us the game, tiote, carroll, krul and jose were very good. krul far better than harper at taking crosses looks the better of the two at the moment interesting to see who’s gona be number one keeper.

wayne should deffinately play on the wing and barton in the centre.
on several occasions against chelsea he out paced ashley cole which is a hard task, im expecting him to start against brom.
