I Am Immensley Proud Of My Achievements With Newcastle

Newcastle’s former manager Chris Hughton has tonight issued a statement through the League Manager’s Association.

Chris Hughton – former Newcastle United manager

Chris Hughton said tonight:

“We have built on last season’s momentum following promotion back up to the Barclays Premier League and have produced some excellent results to see us sitting midway in the table at this stage of the season.”

” I am immensely proud of my achievements with Newcastle and I enjoyed a fantastic relationship with the players, my staff and the supporters during my time as manager. I now wish them and the club all the very best for the future.”

“The termination of my contract is now in the hands of the LMA and I will therefore be making no further comment at this stage.”

Complete class right through to the end from the London gentleman – Chris Hughton

LMA chief executive Richard Bevan added:

‘The LMA is extremely disappointed that Newcastle have parted company with Chris given the success the club has experienced since his appointment.”

“Not only did Chris secure promotion back to the Barclays Premier League, but achieved two club records in the process; 102 points to secure promotion and the longest sequence of unbeaten league matches (17).”

“Throughout his time at Newcastle Chris has conducted himself with tremendous integrity and dignity, the team’s current position of 11th in the Barclays Premier League demonstrating the stabilizing effect Chris has had in his role as manager during his period at Newcastle.”

Those are good words from Richard Bevan – and true words too.

We have to say we feel very very sad tonight, a shocked silence if you like, at what the Newcastle club have done today – what are they thinking?

No back biting or name calling.
    Typical Hoots all the way.
Good luck Hoots, I am sure you deserve a better club than ours anyway.

totally gutted for him, absolutely love the bloke and hope he does great wherever he goes next, and they’ll be lucky to have him. Only positive that can come from this is if we get oneil which i doubt we will cos of lack of funds we’ll prob get some average manager ie pardew curbs or kinnear and lose our quality players, i can see an exodus in jan if we dont get a real quality manager in and then relegation again this season…. Might just start supporting chris’s new team instead of Toon!

baty63 – Agree he’s done a good job, but we were fantastic under Robson and have not been anywhere near that level or played near such a great style of football under hughton

    Jol could be absolutely brilliant.
When he first took on Ajax, he won ALL 14 remaining games and only lost the title by 1 point.
He’s very experienced and will surely bring a more continental type of football to SJP, not just hit and hope garbage.
He’ll also surely be able to attract some young Dutch players – he’ll know some real gems from the Ajax youth set up and Ajax aren’t exactly flush with cash.
This is about the only appointment I would be happy about. I wanted Rijkaard but actually, I think Jol would be better.

If Jol is struggling to do it in the Dutch league what chance has he in the English Premier League??? I tell you now….NO CHANCE

We’ll sell half the squad in January and fill it full of 2nd rate rubbish.

Caroll, Enrique and Tiote to Spurs in January (The club Ashley supports)

Mike Ashley – you absolute tit.

I couldnt have cared less when we lost KK, but Chris has everything, honesty, likeability, dignity, strength of character, loyalty, a great eye for a player, works within remits, etc etc etc – and the toad that is Ashley has shanked him in the back, the side, the kidneys – anywhere that Chris wasnt looking.

Chris – you may be gone but never forgotten.

Strange that Jol leaves as Newcastle job is open! he did want to come to England but that was at Fulham, TBH they went with a better option and we have a better option on O’Neil! I wonder how Fat Ashley knew about Jol and why did he sort of offer the job to him when Chris was doing a good job! look at Ajax they cannot even win the league with players like Suarez who scores 30+ a season.
