Newcastle To Hold Interviews With Three Candidates

The Evening Chronicle, who we hope are close to the happenings at the Newcastle club today, have said that the club will start their interviews today with candidates for the post of Newcastle manager.

Martin Jol – expected to be one of three candidates interviewed

And they are saying the three candidates are Alan Pardew, Alan Curbishley and Martin Jol.

But from the polls we conducted on this site last night neither of the two Alans – Pardew and Curbishley – both Londoners by the way – would be other than  terrible choices to Newcastle fans.

If those three candidates are all the club has to choose from, then it would appear that Martin Jol would be the most popular choice of  the fans.

It also appears that Martin Jol’s resignation caught the club by surprise last night, and we still don’t know for sure if it’s linked with the Newcastle vacancy.

It could be that Martin wanted to get himself out of Ajax, after the club prevented him from leaving Ajax for the Fulham job in the summer.

One interesting fact to emerge today is that Mike Ashley’s key footballing confidant is his former Sports Direct employee Paul Kemsley, and he was Tottenham’s vice-chairman when Martin Jol was manager at Spurs.

So we suppose Paul will be able to give Mike Ashley the lowdown on how good a manger Martin Jol was at the London club.

We have to hope (should that be pray?), that other candidates will emerge and come into the reckoning today – and we don’t think Curbishley or Pardew are what the clubs needs right now.

What do you think?

Either of the Alans – we could still get relgated

Jol – we could be really good or terrible!

    Need other candidates!!!!!

O’Neil – would keep us up this season and then build for the future (I.e. Villa)

Pardew and Curbishley don’t deserved to be even canndidate for us !! that’s show how stupid the Mike Ashley is.

Campare with other PRM team boardroom, Tottenham, Everton even Bolton Westbrom or Sundaerland. We look hopeless.

Ironically, out of all the likely candidates, Alan Curbishley is probs the one I might consider myself, however, given the fact he walked from WHU under similar circumstances to KK under Ashley, I can’t see it happening. Also, I doubt very much that the fans here would take to his defensive style of play.

i feel sick, im starting too get a real bad feeling about the two alans, i will be sick if one of them gets it.
it has to be jol or o’neil, there the only ones who could carry on the great work CH has done

They would need somebody mental to take the toon job right now. Is that loony who was in charge of Cluj still out there? The one that got sacked for kicking lumps out of a stand when his team were getting thrashed by Milan? Can’t remember his name, but he would seem to be ideally insane to take the job?

Yer can forget O’Niell as he would want £40m a season for transfers & then bring all the players he had at Villa to play, so he’s adefo no no imo!!

Both Alans don’t have the nouse to get us any further than Hoots did & would waste any transfer we gave them on site like Carlton Cole!!!

Jol could possible do a job for us but only with Ashley coughing up around £20m a transfer window also, so it comes down to 3 things:

    1) How much wages do these guys want?
    2) How much transfer money do they want?
    3) Which is stupid enough to work for Ashley on minimum wage & no transfer budget!!!

If it’s these three we have to go with Jol. These Alans can just jog on, but I have a feeling it’s going to be Padrew. Which, you know will be a disaster. I mean anyone with a section in his Wikipedia page entitled “Controversy”…

Temuri Ketsbaia would be a great candidate, him with Tino asprilla as assistant.

First game in charge, Tino elbows Roy Hodgeson in the nose and Temuri kicks the **** out of the kop.

ha, Kelmsley wouldn’t recommend Jol, he’s the bugger who undermined him at Spurs by first bringing in Damian Comolli, and then meeting with Juande Ramos behind his back!

must admit i chuckled with glee when i read that his company had gone bankrupt, after seeing his self-righteous appearances on the Apprentice’s ‘interview’ episodes.

I took Newcastle to the champions league in 2 seasons on the new football manager, I have been in football management since around 1994 and have signed some world class players to the toon.

I actually signed Gazza from Rangers as well. I’ll have the job. 5 grand a week.

Why would any owner want to change manager Mid-Season, it’s beyond me…

Espaecially a team that is performing above its self YES above, I recon Hughton got an extra 25% out of our players…

It does not matter who comes in, look at Liverpool, only now in mid-season have they started to blosom after a terrible start and hodgson is no fool, certainly better than the candidates mentioned for the newcastle vacancy, plus you have to consider that Liverpool have world class players…

I fear it’s back to the Championship for us, This Ashley never learns…

We hate Ashley end of he deserves to rot in hell. I would rather Lee Clarke come in and for the club to support him for the next 4/5 years what I can see happening though is we get pardew in, he lasts 6 months then we get another mug in so on and so on

I don’t think Ashley would be that STOOOPID to hire Parpoo or CurbiSHITEly.

They would have no respect amongst us and why the hell would you fire CH to hire one of the fools.

I’d prefer Jol or O’Neill but Jol more for his likeable character which will be needed after the CH exit.

    Fooook it… I’m still gutted.

    Just want a decision

i think the fat man wants us relegated sell off all the team again.the same pattern is emerging.players to spuds who ashley supports.plus newc,at full potential, would always be a treat to the spuds.they have men on the inside, roting our club to the core,u may think im radged, but i knw that fat man has alteria motives.since he came in,the toon have fallen, the spuds have risen.wouldnt surprize me if hoots becomes harrys num two.ready to take charge for when he gets the england job.its all to fishy to me,and i dnt think 4 1 second we have debt crise either bollocks.we never have.all that tv money, promotion, new sponsors, high campionship gates transfers.hes trying to squeeze as much frm dis club as possible, and adding benifit to the spuds in anyway shape or form.its a disgrace,he shud be investegated by the prem leauge.ps i beleive books have been fiddled, debt frm sports direct was also transfered to us.wheres panarama when u need them?or ya,messing up the england bid.protest must be planed.

Well I am going to put another name forward who might be worth a fiver at 100/1. That name is Glen Hoddle. Dont get me wrong its not who I want but just trying to think how Mr Ashley might be thinking. He has experience here and abroad and also for England. Also if you were a Spuds fan like Ashly, then who would be your boyhood hero. Food for thought!!

If we are only looking at the likes of Pardew and Curbs we could just about have brought one of them in as assistant to Hoots, never mind instead of him.
Looks like any interview will be a cosmetic exercise and Jol had it before ever Hoots was elbowed out. Its disgusting but it would be even worse to think Ashley would sack Hoots now without having his replacement lined up.
Looks like a they’ve taken the Chris out of our Xmas and given us a Hughtonanny with no Hoots.
The Chris is gone out of Xmas and the Hoots from out Hootenanny.
Maybe at least we’ll have a Jolly New Year to look forward to???

geordie german, this kind of thing happens all the time in football, politcs and the world in general.he and levy are so close, ashley is levys bumboy,he is a lower ranked mason, they have planed long to infultrate the club to bring it to its knees,he doesnt care about stability, results, wel only if it afects his money he bleeds frm the club.we are proping up sports direct and no doubt the players wil go for profit.just like bassong, they wil go to the spuds.they are zionists freemasons and wil do anyting to get what they want.including taking dwn newc aswel as profit.
