Klinsmann Story Looks Silly – That’s A Pity

Alan Pardew is 99% certain to get the Newcastle United job – so we still have a chance – a 1% chance of it not happening. 😀

Jurgen Klinsmann – he would have been great – it’s not going to happen

There’s a story out there by SportingPreview.com and it says the Pardew story is simply a smokescreen as cover as Newcastle sign Klinsmann – right – we wish it were true.

And they say that Jurgen Kinsmann is due to arrive on Tyneside for his coronation as Newcastle boss tomorrow.

Of course we wish it was true, but we’ve looked into the story just a little bit – they could at least have made it Jose Mourinho.

Klinsmann is not only a very good coach whose teams  play terrific football – remember Germany at the 2006 World Cup –  but he’s also a terrific guy.

He would be a wonderful front guy for Newcastle United – no doubt about that.

The story says that Klinsmann was approached last week, and instantly accepted the challenge of taking the Geordie giants back into Europe and beyond.

In fact we understand this is what Jurgen told Mike, after taking about 20 seconds to decide to say yes – it seems the original story missed this bit out – that’s strange:

“Yes – of course I’m willing to take the job Mike – on a results-based wage .”

“I assume that means no results no wages – with no money to spend – why that sounds just great to me.”

I’ve been looking for a really good challenge – and that’s a challenge alright”

“And I’m told your a wonderful person to work for – and a great communicator too.”

If this is all true then what is Ashley talking to Alan Pardew for – maybe he doesn’t even know.

Of course they probably picked Klinsmann – who works for Toronto FC, because of course he spent a wonderful season with Tottenham Hotspur,  and Ashley has ties with that London club.

Jurgen also turned down the chance to become the US soccer coach, after this summer’s world cup – and that was a pity.

SportingPreview.com are having a laugh – unfortunately.

We wish it were true – we really do wish it were true – but it’s got a 1% chance – and that’s on the optimistic side.

Comments welcome.

@ginkoh: What if it’s the other Alan (and I’m not talking about the prolific goalscorer either)? We’ll be in trouble either way.

This is all hilarious, though – who the hell is sportingpreview.com?

what’s silly is that it looks like MA has sacked Hughton for Pardew!

It is simply too bad to be true!

Thats why my fingers are still crossed.

I’m a happy camper if we just avoid Pardew now.

“I wanted someone that would leave the Newcastle fans open-mouthed with disbelief. Someone that they wouldn’t have even considered a possibility for the manager’s position. Someone who will really get the fans going and set the place alight.” – Ashley

Right, I’m going to Ashley’s place to set fire to the fat prick

It just gets more ridiculous every time I come on the net looking for news.

The very sad, sad fact is that Ashley is simply a man of completely different vision to that of Newcastle fans.

His vision is not ours, where he wants to run us like a branch of Sports Soccer, we want to keep any pride we have and not look like a giant chav super store.

I agree with the way he wants us to run financially sound but at what cost Mr Ashley.

You continue to make us look a laughing stock.

You are worth billions, seriously, why the hell did you buy a club such as Newcastle if you dont want to put more money into it.

This isnt a business where you’re in it to make even more millions than you have already you greedy fat get.

I believe in you to a degree Ashley but some of your decisions and complete lack of respect for your Geordie customers is staggeringly bad.

if ashley is mates with pardew then it could be a well planned smokescreen or as i have been saying all along, pardew could potentially have a different role at the club.
klinsman would be great and has the usual tottenham connection that seems to be important to ashley these days so i suppose it could be true.

We don’t have any power to choose who is become to our next manager, It’s depend on Ashley.

It will show the vision of our board and chairman. Pardew is the man to take this club forward ? How can i say. Do what you want Ashley. You never know what can happen in the future.

I know alot here wants to boycott the game on saturday, or just go along with massive boo’s…

Is it just me… or are any of you just a little happy to see Beardsley on the sidelines just for 1 game?

He was such a hero of mine

Pardew doesn’t have a prayer if he’s appointed as the fans will be on his back from the start… it’s gonna be interesting to see what the players reaction to his appointment will be…it wouldn’t surprise me if Nolan’s the first one to be sold off as he could be seen as a potential leader of a player revolt.

Rofl, pretty much sure all good players would be leaving coming up January. Its like what Jose said”The next manager needs to be someone with high experienced and titles under his belts or else this club has turn into an utter joke”
Meaning that if Pardew is selected, then Andy,Enrique,Jonas and more would definitely quit the club. And thats sure what Big Mike had in mind.He knew that hughton was in good terms with all players,Sacking him would hit the team’s morale very HARD.So if he would bring up Pardew,im pretty sure he would be making a big mitake. Also Newcastle gets relegated, its Big Mike who suffers the most. Also,i really doubt that Mike is that stupid enough not to see that Hughton was better qualified than Pardew, also Hughton was being paid the lowest salary in the PL and giving spectacular results.
I think he has much more in mind than Pardew.
So ill stick to major shock coming up Saturday.
Hopefully,it would be either Klinsmann or O’neill.

    Ed,

The full story published by Sporting Preview is that Klinsmann will be appointed manager with Pardew as his assistant…. The Journal published a story this morning that the strategic appointment would be made this week with a new 5.5 year contract for the new manager. Hardly likely to be Pardew I would have thought!
I will cling on to this crumb of hope until the worst news possible (Pardew) is formally announced…..

I think it’s like this. The rumour goes out that we are getting Pardew. We are all peed off. In the next couple of days the new manager is announced. Its Joe Effin Kinnear and we are all overjoyed. Not daft that Ashley.
