Kevin Keegan – Alan Pardew A Good Lad – I Know Him Well

Kevin Keegan is now a resident ESPN analyst and he has come out today and blasted Derek LLambias and Mike Ashley.

Kevin Keegan – while manager at Newcastle for the second time

Kevin has said they didn’t know what they were doing when he was at the club – and it doesn’t look like they’ve improved much since then.

But the bit that seems interesting to us, is what he has to say about new manager Alan Pardew.

This is what Kevin said today Alan Pardew:

“Alan Pardew was confirmed as his replacement on Wednesday and, although he is more experienced than Chris was when he started the job, he is not vastly experienced. He has managed for 17 months in the Premier League.”

“But Alan’s a good lad. I know him well, he is very dedicated and he works very hard. The sad thing is that Alan is going in and is getting off on the wrong foot through no fault of his own.”

“The supporters won’t be resistant to Alan because of the circumstances of his appointment, though. Any criticism will be leveled at Llambias and Mike Ashley, because it is their decision.”

“The fans would be wrong to pick on Alan. Obviously if results don’t go well then they may start to voice discontent, but Alan is just the meat in the middle of the sandwich here.”

“”The current situation is not the fault of the players, and they will be supported from the stands providing that they give the effort required when you wear that famous shirt.”

“However, Newcastle fans are never going to get behind the current regime, because they have seen too much evidence of things they don’t like.”

Those are very true words from Kevin, and the owner is seen as the real rogue to the majority of fans on Tyneside, even more so now after the events of this week – – it that’s possible..

Wonder when he’s going to sell the club and get out of  Toon?

Comments welcome.

Ashley won’t sell the club because no one will buy it off him…. maybe the reason is because we keep getting upset with the owners if they do something that we don’t agree with!!!

I think the only owners who’ll satify the fans 100% are the fans themselves, as that way we will only be angry against ourselves & no one else!!!

I wonder if Ashley been in touch with the Qatar Royal family to see if they want to buy our club as it was posted that they were interested in aquiring a PL club leading up to the 2022 WC… now that would be nice 🙂

    Possibly controversial but …

RE KK. Kevin Keegan having a say in my mind is totally right and proper. There’s little doubt that we’re his club and that will never change.

Maybe the younguns didn’t experience what KK did up here and so didn’t feel those highs he brought to us.

But KK’s right – there’s no benefit in giving Pardew much stress, that will only add pressure and stress to the side.

Well said solaidback, especially the Qatar stuff. But also the other. Passions run high with NUFC and that can scare potential owners. Can u remember an owner who was adored or even tolerated? The fans, being fans, can often sway decisions and even force wrong ones. Best recent example: Shearer, a legend with 0 mgmt experience, assigned mgr for a possible 24 points, doing terribly. That was one of MA’s worst decisions, but nobody complains about it, as we kind of forced it on ourselves.

Look Pardew whatever you think of him is not the problem, sure you could`nt exactly call him a big name and would have to look hard for any successfull period where he managed.
And we all know CH is preferable any day of the week, but Ashley panicked and brought him in
(it`s tough on the dole these days) with the understanding he must save the club from relegation and will have to do it without bothering him for any dosh.
When the real problem is a lack of depth in quality on the side.
The recent bust up with that footballing genius Llambias and both Nolan and Joey, does`nt auger well for the future and may very well result in another period of chaos and resentment from the players and a greater chance of a repetition of the situation of two seasons ago.
Just what were those two geniuses(Ashley & Llambias) thinking ?
Our only hope is a Qatari take over, cause these guys are determined to ruin the club through total ignorance.
Ah well!, what can ya do !

Read the full article earlier, but I find it hard to accept any perspective from a man who cannot possibly be objective about the dickhead that owns our club. Right or wrong, this reads more like Keegan having a good old bitch and getting it all off his chest. He knows the world and his dog will agree with him. I remember what he did first and second times he was here and I loved him for it. He lost a lot of stock in his 3rd outing. I’d rather have heard this from someone else.

KK like the rest of our then managers in Sir Bobby Robson, Chris Hughton were legends in the club history. We’d & will always be allowing these type of managers buying some time to settle things. down. Of course all were on the right track of building this club as they progressed. But, shame on us, then they were also the victims to the incompetent, clueless & yet ruthless club owners in FS & now Mike-y c-Ashley. Their faults always disrupted the club progress in the past. That’s why we fans must always back our players to perform well on the pitch, so we can move on & forget those shenanigans!

@ Solaidback too right, ashley and lambias arent my biggest fans but we’re our own enemies. we are putting off potential buyers and complain about every decision ashley makes. thats not all supporters but some on here are out to destroy the club without realising it. boycott the sports direct stores in newcastle, not the match

KK=legend! Always will be. Imagine where we’d be today had MA not been a total useless wank & had backed kk in the transfer market. Or better yet if he’d sold to the guys who bought city? What could have kk done with an endless supply of cash available? Now look where we are! Who’s our manager? What a disgrace! Just a couple od reasons that sums up what a shite job ma has done at our club. Face it the only place we’ll be successful & sign quality players is on fuckin fifa! Burn in hell ashley you fat wank stain! Smell that bacon fry!

KK=legend! Always will be too. It brings a tear to my eye to think of where we’d be had ma just backed kk in the transfer market, kk would have no doubt brought in quality & we would have never went down. Or better yet if ma had sold to the mob that bought city! Imagine what kk could have done with an endless supply of transfer funds? We’d be challeging for the title playin fantastic football. Now look where we are? Who’s our manager? Just a couple of reasons why ma is worst owner of a football club ever! We will go nowhere until he & his cockney flying monkys are gone.

Keegan IS a legend and I’ll always read what he has to say.

I hate the dent his reputation took while working for Cashley.

People who knock Keegan must not have read the transcripts from the independent arbitration panel.
