Steven Taylor To Leave Newcastle United

Bad news today in the Sunday Sun,  that Steven Taylor is about to leave Newcastle,  and will not sign his new contract.

Steven Taylor tussles with Torres yesterday soon to be team mates?

The Sunday Sun is reporting that Steven has rejected Newcastle’s latest improved offer.

So if that’s true we suppose he will be sold to the highest bidder in January, but that is hardly good news for Newcastle, especially since a weakness seems to be in the center of Newcastle’s defense.

But of course it will allow 20 year old Tamas Kadar more chances in the side, and whenever the Hungarian has been in the side, he’s never let Newcastle down.

Newcastle will be left with Coloccini, Williamson, Campbell and Kadar in central defense, but Sol again looked a little unsteady for Newcastle yesterday, so Pardew may look to bring in another center-back in January, if indeed Steven is moved out.

If this is all true we will be sorry to see a local lad leave the club, and especially because he’s leaving because of the money situation.

But surely the players at Newcastle need to be at the club because they want to be on Tyneside – and if Steven can get more wages elsewhere, and he wants to leave Newcastle because of that – so be it.

The decision has nothing to do with the new manager arriving and Chris leaving.

While we are a little disappointed with Steven if this is true, it’s a free country, and at least Newcastle now know where they stand.

Don’t be surprised if the team Steven played so well against yesterday – Liverpool – will be the team that wants him most.

And we’re sure that Alan Pardew will be allowed to use the money to being in a new player or two in January – another Mike Williamson class player for £1M wouldn’t be bad.

Best way to resolve this would be for taylor and pardew to get together and agree on the following Taylor signs new 5 year contract but have a gentlemans agreement that he can leave if some one comes in for him that way we can get maximum price for him otherwise clubs will either offer minimum price knowing that he will leave on a free in the summer any way

As this is being reported by the Sunday Sun, I would take it with a bucket of salt, never mind a pinch, as they’ll make anything up to get a respeonse from us the fans…

If it is true, then I think it’s very small minded of Taylor & his agent, he says he wants to stay, then he should take the offer, not try to get more, look at Carroll, he know’s he’s in big demand & could take a much higer wages than he’s been offered but no, he signed a new 5 year contract, thats lowyality…

If this is true, then Taylor is no better than players like Owen who are mercenaries & doesn’t deserve to wear the B&W of the Toon!!!

Mind You He was getting On With Alan Pardew Maybe he will sit Him Down and Say Steven Sign For a Year Give it A Go Do Not Be A Mercinery Like the Players That Have Left It Would Break Taylor’s heart To Leave and Come Back as A Mercinery and Get Ripped Apart Like we All Know He would Do By The Fans !!! The word Is He is Not That well Liked By The Players anyway – Peter Ramage was Saying when Carroll Broke His Jaw he was Thinking of Sending Him a Tenner For a Good Job Done as He is a Goddy Little *$”£ . He has Enough Money– we have paid him for 12 months when he has been out for 10 injured and does he give a Toss ??? Maybe he is a Bad apple and should Move on anyway !!!!

Nimo are u mad.Honestly everything that went wrong in our defence yesterday was down to Taylor. He is loved by some Newcastle fans because for such along time he was an average defender in a poor defence. Now we have better players he is being found out. Bye bye Taylor, take your inflated ego, father and agent with you.

He definitely isn’t the best defender. the bull is by a mile and i don’t even think he’s our best centre half. Kadar, Willo and Colo are all better in my opinion.

Funny, Taylor never used to be out of the press, giving his opinion, whether anyone wanted to hear it or not. Where is he now?

I think that he’s probably had his head turned by his agent, who seems to have a habit of doing this sort of thing (see this summer’s Wayne Rooney saga for further details), but after all his talk, Taylor should be putting pen to paper, or telling the fans why he’s ready to turn his back on the club he keeps saying he loves.

Erm whose this wheater guy? Take it he’s Aal reet? Never heard of him or seen him play. As for Taylor, think we should just see what happens. I agree it’ll be a bit cack for a local lad to leave like ed says and I’d say he is our second best cb but if it’s over money….. Let him go, couldnt care less!

However no one is bigger that the club so if he won’t sign then hopefully we can get some money for him. It will be agreat shame but live & NUFC go on

Good riddance, I’m tired of Taylor’s clumsiness. Again he cost us a goal yesterday, he’s reading of the game and his balance awful. He constantly ends up causing havoc, I’d be happy to see him go. Coloccini and Williamson is far better, I even think Sol is better. Wheater is a good call, I’d take him for 3m.

Hope this is true; one of the most overrated players in the EPL. I also have a feeling that he doesn’t fit into the group. Don’t know why but I’ve just got this feeling.

I would not like to see Wheater as his replacement tho’, but if C. Davies would be his replacement I can only support this.

Are all you guys nuts!!?? Sell Taylor!!?? He has been an ever present in the NUFC side for years and it’s no coincidence. If managers like the legendary Sir Bobby thought he was good then that’s enough for me. You can tell that Taylor loves the club and shows it every time on the pitch. Although he does seem to think he deserves more than what he’s getting and that does piss me off. No player is bigger than the club but I really do think this paper is stirring up bullshit just to distract the player. By the way can you imagine Taylor playing at RB bombing up the flank and getting those headers on goal. The best defense we have is this one imo. Enrique, Williamson, Collo, Saylor. Add to that Ben Arfa and Barton also along the wings and we have an amazing force out wide to be reckoned with. He should be handed a great contract and signed up ASAP. SIGN ALREADY GOD DAMN IT!!!

The only reason Tayls has been in the team is because he is a local lad. Forget it! We now have an even better local lad in attack! Andy Carrol. I think that in 3-4 years Carrol will be the best striker in the world

I think he has been overrated by many people, his agent sounds to be a problem and and fortunately his own self importance sometimes gets in the way. He doesn’t look happy or too interested. I’m of the opinion that he isn’t fitting in well with the team spirit that was on display on Saturday.

I just cannot believe some of the rubbish people talk here.

This is the same “contractual” situation in which Chris Houghton has be involved. He came a cropper and the history is clear that FMA treats his employees with contempt.

The news in the papers has been fed by Ashley to discredit Taylor and he and his agent have been silent. It is not a question of loyalty to NUFC and that he must sign if he loves the club. I have no doubt whatsoever that Taylor would like to stay at the club but would you work for Ashley? If he moves on it is to Ashley’s further discredit and a big loss to Newcastle.

    Howay the lads.
