Ashley Says He’ll Not Sell Carroll But We’re Not Sure

Anybody who can sack Chris Hughton after the wonderful job he did on Tyneside, and a short six weeks after saying the club would renegotiate his contract at the end of the year, cannot be trusted.

Mike Ashley – we have no idea what this man thinks

Of course this is hardly new news to Newcastle fans about the Newcastle owner Mike Ashley.

Mike has already admitted he lied in the Kevin Keegan affair – when he said it was Kevin who would choose which players would come in, and it wasn’t – it was cockney Dennis Wise – as we now know.

We thought Mike was  getting better on Tyneside – we hoped Mike was getting better on Tyneside – but it was simply wishful thinking over the last 16 months.

And of course we were dead wrong – and to us he is now a man not  to be trusted –  whatever he says.

And with Mike coming out and saying he will not sell Andy Carroll, we want that to be true – but we wont go to the bank on that  either.

And Mike’s antics at the game on Saturday with Derek LLambias, when he went wild for each Newcastle goal was odd – to say the very least.

But Andy Carroll himself certainly doesn’t want to move – but if Mike decides he’s going, there’s precious little Andy could do about it – unfortunately.

This is what Andy said today:

“I’m just going to go out there and carry on doing what I’ve been doing so far this season,”

“I’ve always worked towards being where I am now, and want to stay here – it’s as simple as that.”

Let’s wait and see what happens if a big club comes in with a £20M offer for Andy in January.

We’d like Ashley to be very remote from the Newcastle club, but with his seeming interest in getting more hands on at the club – that is very worrisome.

Basically the man is a ticking time bomb, given some of the ridiculous decisions he has made in his tenure as owner of the Newcastle club over the last 42 months.

We’ll not recall them here, because it makes for very depressing reading, and we’re only just  recovering from that malady after last week. 😀

Out hope rests fundamentally with the Newcastle players, and with Alan Pardew, if he continues the good start he has made at the club, which we hope he will.

If someone offered us £25m for Andy Carroll, Cashley would jump at it like it was a bag of chips and he hadnt eaten for 5mins.

I don’t want Carroll to go anywhere, but all ashley cares about is cash.

what would happen if Andy or any other player refused to go?? if they are under a contract surely they don’t have to accept the club bidding for them, i’m not sure even ashley couldn’t manage that one??

Ashley would sell his own mother for a pie the fat f*****r. Of course he’d sell Carroll if he had the chance. Thing is Carroll won’t go anywhere so that’s the end of it.

You can’t force the lad to move club can you and he won’t leave.

Course he can force a player to leave against their wishes. You just start making life at the club unbearable for the player and keep accepting offers until the player eventually gives up and accepts one.

What they going to do like? Call him names and pull his hair?

Shut up you fool. Would you leave Newcastle and the No.9 shirt if you had it? I know I wouldn’t.

I think Ashley would keep Carroll even if offered a large price, where would we be without him in the side? Not in the prem. He knows we need Carroll to harass the defense as a main aspect of our game. I know he wouldn’t use the money to replace him and I don’t think amoeba or ranger could fill Andy’s roll

its in ashleys interest to keep our saleable assets. carrols value will just keep going up so I cant see him selling yet. Every man at every club has his price, we’re lucky cos Carroll wouldnt want to leave. This is not a constructive article ed, its just an enticement for people to come on here ranting about our club owner.

maybe we should play a cuter game with ashley which would serve everyones purposes

We give the cockney mafia b/s a rest, and stick to supporting the team on the pitch which, lets face it, we do very well and benefits the team, potential players perceptions of playing for newcastle and makes SJP a daunting place to visit for the opposition.

We pass judgement on Pardew and Ashley after the January transfer window rather than doom mongering in specualtion. I for one would prefer pardew with 15m to spend than hoots without the trust to spend a penny.

Finally, we put the past away. We’ll never know whats going on behind the scenes fully but by all sticking together and supporting what seems to be a long term plan and has improved the club (better youngsters, no chance of going into administration, better team spirit and personalities than the likes of dyer bowyer and the other rubbish we’ve endured).

    Just a thought.

While we have no reason to trust Ashley, I don’t think this kind of speculation is helpful, it will only end up as another ‘true’ story in some rag.
Lets cross that bridge when we get there.

    Simpson—–STaylor————Colo——Enrique

    Barton———-Nolan———-Tiote—–Ferguson

    ———————Ranger——-Carroll—————-

This has to be our lineup in up coming game. Jonas is just absolutely horrible! He can’t cross is becoming lazy and can’t even beat an opponent 1 on 1 any more, can’t shoot at all! Don’t know what is wrong with him. Now we should use our Irish magician Shane Ferguson! He had an absolutely astonishing game vs Chelsea earlier in this year. He is one for the future. Has an beauty cross, is very fast and knows the game very well. What shola ameobi did in 70 minutes during the game Nile Ranger did better in the last 10-20 minutes! Nile Ranger is the fastest player on our team. And he is quite tall. Him and Carroll need to get use to playing beside each other now because 21 and 19 year old have a long way to go with each other.

Slightly off-piece but something baro just said above…Was it just me or had Jonas been told not to run with the ball against Liverpool?

Everytime he received it, he looked to pass, except for a few short sprints in the top third of the pitch…

I think he’d been told to complete passes rather than lose the ball in his usual weirdly mazey style!

If Andy Carroll was not sold
Then Ben Arfa might not be sign. (we have players comng back)

I hope Ben Arfa is with Newcastle to build on. He can also come in as a group with José Enrique and gang.

    José Enrique Sánchez
i like you very much. Please remain as our Newcastle Utd Left back.

    @ Toon-tinted-glasses.
I think you right there; so often Jonas, while very skilled, ends up loosing possession with a big hole behind him for the opposition to play into.
Running with the ball into the box can be useful. Unless you can release the ball having attracted 3 opposition player to you, you are really just wasting your time.
Loosing possession is the biggest crime at this level, that is why Krull’s distribution is a concern; we did better for a while we were passing it out from the back, rather than punting up field only to concede the second ball.

You can force the lad of the club but you can’t force the club out of the lad…. If u cut Andy Carroll he would bleed black and white.

Even Mike Ashley would see that and not want to sell him… Even if he wanted to atleast 10 of us could bribe him with a good few pies at half tim 🙂

Worth reading and shows how the club has been completely utterly mismanaged in the last 20 years despite the so called ‘ boom years’ in football. Hall/Shepherd should be ashamed.

@ nufclewin …. how man you daft chav pot dee one with your tiny minded facebook chav fest .. how can he be the worst owner considering he inherited a f cuked club from Fat Freddy, which left us crippled with debt in the worst recession for years with players who didnt want to play but took our money and then got the club back up with an astonishing appoiuntment of houghton (which you handnt thought of had you) and secured players such as Tiote for peanuts on contracts which favour NUFC (and therefore the fans – we are the patrons of the club as we may for tickets) and making sales of players like Bassong to enable us to buy more players to ensure relegation … WHY ARE YOU SO BRAINLESS … yes it is devo for CH but, why dont you give it a chance … cos if he leaves, blv me it wud be a f uck of a lot worse .. do you fancy being owner by Venkys chicken wings from India .. they are worth nowt compared to MA and will spend even less … we shud just get behind all of them and lets see how they go .. you cant tell me you can complain with the shape of the squad today? there are improvements that can be made but every team can be improved and we are heading in the right direction ..

Nobody can second guess Ashley’s intentions.
I think he just gets up in the morning and decides how big a barsteward he can be that day depending how much % of disdain he is feeling for the Toon supporters at that moment.
I don’t think he has a 5 year plan – in fact I don’t think he has a plan beyond his next meal.
What I do know is that he is a dangerous loose cannon and we’ll never sleep soundly until he’s gone.

I don’t get why people always think Ashley is gonna sell everyone.

He’s an idiot, and I hate him as much as the next, but he hasn’t sold anyone we’ve not wanted him to since we got relegated.

And in the two transfer windows since we’ve spent £10+ million.

I don’t trust him if a big, big offer came in, but he’s only ever sold one player where I’ve thought it was silly; Given (and he wanted to go!)

I think everyone thought Milner’s deal was pretty good in the end, and, despite what followed, I think on that situation, he had made the right choice.

Zogs wanted to go and then it was the relegation period where everyone wanted to leave.

If Carroll wants to stay, he will stay.

A lot of the comments above are showing good logical arguments as to why Ashley wouldn’t sell. That’s all very well, but every major decision he has made has been so far void of logic that it’s pointless to even think in this way.

Is it logical to buy something for 100 million without bothering to look at the accounts? Is it logical to appoint sack Hughton because of lack of premiership experience and replace him with the 62nd most experienced Premiership manager? Is it logical to plaster your shop’s name all over a stadium to remind those who go there to hate the shop along with the owner? Is it logical to value Wise’s judgement on a player ahead of Keegan?

    Krul
    simpson willaimson collocini enrique
    barton nolan titoe gutierez
    carroll ranger

with gosling, harper and ben arfa to be added at the end of january and potential new signings coming in the window, lets just say allot worse squads have qualified for europe.

I think the less said about Ashley the better (keep our hate private). Seems to me that the more that we protest, the more he kicks us in the balls. I mean he has the reigns in is hands, he can lead us wherever he want’s. Hurt his feelings and he just doubles our hurt. Even the biggest Shire, the proudest Arabian can be broken.

We all know mike ashley is a piece of shite and cares nothing for our beloved club. We all want him out. But we have to focus on our troops, we have to stay behind them and the new gaffer and push forward, thats what chrissy would want us to do. Pardew didnt fire chrissy and he seems to be a good guy and hopefully he will fit in well here at the club. We shall see. But we have to support him and give him the chance to succeed. I urge all of my toon army brothers and sisters to not protest during matches or inside SJP at all. That had a negative impact on an already heartless squad back in 2008. We cannot afford that this season. Hopefully some rich lads or lads see our pain and will come along and buy ashley out, but until then we have to ignore hime and support our club. Howay the lads and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to Ed and all my toon army brothers and sisters!!!!
