Great News – No Joey Barton Suspension

The Daily Telegraph tried their very hardest to make trouble for the Newcastle club – but the good news today is that they have failed.

Joey Barton – in action against Liverpool Saturday

The FA  confirmed today that Joey Barton will not face disciplinary action from the Football Association for making some supposedly obscene gesture towards Spanish International Fernando Torres,  in Saturday’s game against Liverpool.

The FA have now investigated the incident and have decided there will no action taken against Joey. Good call!

An FA spokesman said:

“We will be writing to him to remind him of his responsibilities.”

This seemed like a blatant attempt by the Daily Telegraph to cause more upset – maybe to continue last week’s loony toon happenings at the Newcastle United club – which of course the gossip press just loves to do.

It lacked class completely and failed miserably, we are pleased to say.

However if Joey had been in trouble, then why do they let Wayne Rooney keep shouting to the refs to  “f  off” in almost every game, and he was at it again last night in the Man United 1-0 win over Arsenal.

Why is he allowed to keep doing this – doesn’t it bring the game into disrepute?

But this is excellent news for Newcastle, and now we can field a very strong side against Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon.

Howay The Lads!!

Interesting point about Rooney. Did anyone else see him kick an Arsenal defender off the ball during injury time last night. As the defender ran ahead of him Rooney kicked the defender trying to trip him up.

    Pressed submit button by mistake.
To continue no mention of the incident by SSN, imagine the reaction if Barton had done that.

It doesn’t bring the game into disrepute as big clubs (and their players) benefit the media so, as long as the media don’t make a big deal, then no one sees and no one cares.

I love Joey, think he’s a great player for the Newcastle side currently but he has GOT to watch what he does. Regardless of it being fair or not, other players did this and that without being punished. It doesn’t matter. He has a reputation and as funny as it was seein him tell off Torres he needs to keep that sh!t to himself for the good of the team.

NUFCmagpie, agree. Joey should have waited and got Torres under the shower. 🙂

I contacted the FA & put in a complaint about the witch hunt that the gutter press & the FA are running with my club & I gave them a bit of info on how I was able to help balls up their 2018 bid, and I informed them that everything they did to my club would be avenged, and that I would go after individuals next, they are getting under my skin now, and I am fighting back just a little bit more each time, & if they they feel like a fight, I’m willing. they are such a bunch of muppets.

Good news such an important player for us this season. And obviously the FA must not be investigating Lucas for wrapping his hands round Joey’s neck…

I have always had a high regard fo Joey’s skills and when he is playing in the side we go forward. He is a hothead and must continue to exercise control over that side of his character. I think Chris was instumental in getting him to focus on the team plan and not be intimidated by the cloggers. He’s had a lot of such attention in games so far and managers know if they stop him they stop us from playing. We desperately need someone who can step into his shoes when he is not availible. We have one of the most effective engine rooms in the league, but we do need a good wide man.
I’m glad the FA have are using some common sense for a change but it is an ongoing battle for the Toon as we win game and that Southern bias kicks in.
