The Daily Telegraph tried their very hardest to make trouble for the Newcastle club – but the good news today is that they have failed.
Joey Barton – in action against Liverpool Saturday
The FA confirmed today that Joey Barton will not face disciplinary action from the Football Association for making some supposedly obscene gesture towards Spanish International Fernando Torres, in Saturday’s game against Liverpool.
The FA have now investigated the incident and have decided there will no action taken against Joey. Good call!
An FA spokesman said:
“We will be writing to him to remind him of his responsibilities.”
This seemed like a blatant attempt by the Daily Telegraph to cause more upset – maybe to continue last week’s loony toon happenings at the Newcastle United club – which of course the gossip press just loves to do.
It lacked class completely and failed miserably, we are pleased to say.
However if Joey had been in trouble, then why do they let Wayne Rooney keep shouting to the refs to “f off” in almost every game, and he was at it again last night in the Man United 1-0 win over Arsenal.
Why is he allowed to keep doing this – doesn’t it bring the game into disrepute?
But this is excellent news for Newcastle, and now we can field a very strong side against Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon.
Howay The Lads!!
