Lovenkrands Could Join Steven Taylor Out Of The Door

It would seem that Newcastle may have a busy January transfer window, with players both coming and going.

Peter Lovenkrands – will he leave in January?

We have no idea who may come in but apparently there is not truth in the rumor that Landon Donovan has been offered to Newcastle, and that’s a pity.

But Newcatsle may still go after Adam Johnson of Man City, who may be happy to leave that club, if only through the end of the season on loan.

After hearing what Rickie Lambert is like at Southampton, it wouldn’t appear that he will easily make it in the Premier League, so we kind of hope that’s not one of Alan Pardew’s first signings.

As far as people leaving Tyneside, there could be a few, as long as Newcastle can bring in replacements.

We are told Steven Taylor wants to leave the club and will not be signing his new contract, although that is still not official yet, but if it is,  then Newcatsle will cash in on the 24 year-old in January for as much as they can get – and maybe Liverpool would be the favorites.

After seeing their central defenses on Saturday, Steven  Taylor would be a great acquisition for them.

Peter Lovenkrands cannot be too happy at the restricted playing time he has had so far this season, and unless Alan Pardew is a big fan of Peter, it could be that he will be moved out in January.

And since he was a free agent when he signed for Newcastle a couple of years ago from German club Schalke, Newcastle could make  a profit on the Danish International.

Peter has done very well at Newcastle with 21 goals in 52 appearances so far.

Xisco and Leon Best will surely be moved out,  if only Newcastle can get somebody to take them, especially Xisco who is on a huge wage on Tyneside.

James Perch may also be in danger of being moved out, but he may need to be given a little time to improve his game, which will happen as he gets more games in England’s top league, as fishy as that may seem.

As far as new players go – the good news is that Dan Gosling should be fit shortly and hopefully the great Hatem Ben Arfa can be back some time in February – so there’s two good players that will soon be available for Newcastle.

It seems we need some wingers with some speed and creativity and maybe a central defensive midfielder, since Alan Smith didn’t look the part against Bolton, although that was just one game and it seems that Pardew may be a big favorite of  Alan Smith.

Of course Alan is great in the dressing room and he’s just a smashing lad, and his influence has been seen in the great team spirit at Newcastle United.

There’s one thing that seems true – it should be an exciting time this January, and let’s hope the new manager somehow gets some excellent players in before February rolls around.

Also let us know your ideas about who should go and who should come – to strengthen the Newcatsle squad in January.

Howay The Lads!!

If Taylor wants to leave then let him go!! Anybody who is not 110% commited to the club should be sold! Kranjcar from spurs would be a cracking signing along with Adam Johnson on loan from city ! Just what we need 2 very creative players who can also put the ball in the back of the net !!!

People are very cruel to Alan Smith who always tries his best. You can’t ask for more than that.

Perhaps he has now slowed too much to be a regular starter, but he’s good cover.

I also suspect he may be the main reason for the club’s fantastic team spirit.

I hate this time of year; people making up stories about who is coming and going.
In reality we never know about transfers till after they happen, up till that point we engage in endless rounds of idle speculation to no great purpose.
If the club is going develop younger players, we will have to get used to buying players who are not the finished article, have no reputation, and may not be that good yet.
@toon1986; yes, creativity + more creativity, joey can’t do it all.
Someone else who can deliver an accurate cross with consistency would be good.

It’d be a shame to see Saylor, Xisco and especially Loven. Saylors still a decent defender despite criticism, Xisco has never been given a chance to do anything and looked decent against Villa and Loven has the qualities of a decent prem player but fades from the game too easy.. As for incomings, the first priorty should be Ben Arfa permanently and then think of lining up moves for AJ and Van Wolfswinkel (I wish!) 😀

I can’t believe that Man City would loan or sell Adam Johnson.
    Why would they do that?
He has so much potential, surely they regard him as a major asset?

I totally agree with Geoff777. Unless their coach really doesn’t know what he is doing. We would not have lost to city if he wasn’t on. But, hell, we’ll take him, that would compare to Ben arfa signing, really. I love it when u guys do the accounting, sounding like litlle Ashleys. ‘We’ll take 5 mil. for him, pay 3 mil for the other’. Makes me fear how u would count the dosh if u were in his place. We don’t care how much. Get us an exciting winning team!
Now, to Ed’s article: Smith, Loven, Shola can go, sorry to say

Can he ‘do a job’ for the team, or is he an very expensive option to bring on from the bench?

You see the problem is the players we want to get rid of i’m not sure anyone would pay money for. Smith, Best, Xisco, Perch…who’d be that daft?

Whatever, i’d give Smith away for nowt, get him off the wage bill, he brings nothing to the table what so ever, and its been that way lets face it since the recently and hillariously sacked Fat Sam brought him here.

I’d keep Guthrie and Lovenkrands – they’ve not played much, and looked rusty and off the pace when they have but i still think they’re squad players worth having.

Ameobi – ah, he’s part of the fixtures now, and he can still be effective, though he’ll always have his detractors. So, anyway, bit of the old in and out eh –

OUT (either on loan or sold): Smith, Best, Xisco, Perch, Ryan Taylor

IN (either on loan or bought): Tuncay, Robbie Keane, Adam Johnson, Adam Hammill, Chris Gunter

Ah I see Xisco’s name again. Time to re-think what might be happening with that lad. Review: had good pre-season and made sub appearances vs. Manu & Villa, looked more than competent. Gets a red in a reserve game and then drops off the face of the planet. So I speculate: management wanted Xisco to get a chance to earn his keep, CH did not want to do that and used the red card to veto Xisco. With losses and a bench offering little to save or win games, CH is sacked for not using all his talent, especially Xisco! Let’s see if Xisco re-surfaces with AP at the helm.

Ed. You keep on bringing up Johnson as a possible loanee, what is it wishfull thinking because he`s reputed to be a NUFC fan as a lad.
There`s no way in hell he`s going to be allowed outta Citeh.
The kids one of the best wingers in the country, a game winner and why he was left out of the WC side is a testimony to stupidity.
Now enough already with that nonsense!
Now seems Steve Ireland could be available having fallen out with Houllier, great inside right.
But our real needs are a wingback who can bomb down the right flank (supplying Carroll) and a right winger who knows how to cross a ball.
Well i got the right names, RB Coleman from Everton for Saylor and either Kranjcar or Larrson (Larrson`s a free agent at the end of the season) and Krandjcar want`s outta Spurs.

Chuck, NUFC might actually have a very good right winger on the roster: his name is Spiderman, aka “the Greyhound” When HBA returns, I’d like to see AP flip him to the side where he has shown so much for Argentina.

But don’t bench Barton or Tiote.

Meanwhile, IMHO, what is needed in January is good cover for Tiote and Enrique if no one from the reserves or academy can step up to those roles.

People are awfully anxious to ship players out and bring others in. I can’t see much activity to be honest- shadows and dust I think. Adam Johnson is not leaving Citeh, no one is leaving Spuds without them buying first, and Donovan is not leaving USA for anyone other than Everton (on loan).

Personally I would be thrilled to tie down Ben Arfa permanently (realistic), resolve Saylor situation (sell outright, new contract, or maybe ship to Everton in exchange for Pinnear (out of contract too), and someone who can cross the ball with their left foot and fits the budget.

So ! who we gonna get to replace Saylor , who it seems everyone`s sure he`s on his way.
Dont give up, stranger things have happened than a sudden change of mind, looks like a bit of brinkmanship going on.
Well if that`s not the case, who we gonna get to replace him ?
Were ok till the end of the season , but we cant rely on an ageing Saul and a not that great Williamson.
Rumored we might put in a bid for Wheater, there does`nt look like much of a future for him at Boro.
Would prefer we got Richard Dunne, still got a few years left and a solid CB, yeah he does`nt tick the age box but that`s nonsense anyway, look at Saul .

I see a few people are saying we should go for A.Johnson and i see a few are saying we would never get him. You know the most ANNOYING thing about it all, two top north east lads one from Wallsend where i live M.Carrick and Johnson are playing in Manchester. That is a huge loss and shame. Its nothing short of disgusting. These two lads would fit in at our club perfectly atm. Because our scouting system was so poor in the nineties and early to mid noughties we have lost out big time. Adam Johnson a self confessed NUFC fan and a Wallsend lad (Carrick)plying their trade else where shows that we have been blind and looked abroad far to often instead of scouting around the local area. I think that has changed now which is one thing we should praise Ashley for. Players like Carrick and Johnson should never slip through the net again.

On Adam Johnson, Mancini doesn’t like him, I have no idea why but when Johnson asked him for more pitch time he said no, and that he wasn’t good enough. Man City still want to keep him (Due to Value) but I think they would be willing to loan him out.

    I too hate all the speculation over the festive season. van Wolfswinkel alongside Carroll would make me wax lyrical every game. Imagine the first choice eleven;

    Krul

    Collo Williamson Kadar Enrique

    Berens Barton Tiote Jonas

    van Wolfswinkel Carroll

This is of course pure fantasy on my part, but like someone said, i can dream. Berens won the Dutch title with Tiote the other year so they know eachothers play.

    We don’t need wingers IMO

We already have Jonas, Routledge, Ben Arfa, RTaylor and the guy everyone forgets about LuaLua (who we just have to recall) as he is tearing League 1 apart and i already think he’s better than Jonas and Routledge. Not to mention we also have Barton who is playing fantasticly on the Right hand side. And we also have our youngster Ferguson who is very good LW and Gosling who can play RM aswell (Perch can also play there but i wont go there)

so we are actually very well equipped in the wide areas, and with good talent aswell. We just need to perhaps give youth a go and not forget about our injured players
