It was strange game on Sunday, when Newcastle did everything they could to lose the game in the first few minutes.
Cheick Tiote – we have to get on with it
And then the lads did everything they could to get back into game with some great attacking and gutsy play for the remainder of the match, but came up just short in the end.
What’s wrong with that picture?
There’s also no doubt it was a great game to watch, in front of over 51,000 fans, even though Newcastle got absolutely nothing out of the game.
But you just cannot give the top sides in the Premier League a two goal start, and then expect to get anything out of the game.
Ivory Coast International Cheick Tiote, who had another good game for Newcastle, has said the lads have to move on, and now concentrate on taking something out of today’s visit to Spurs, but that will not be easy;
Cheick told the local Evening Chronicle:
“OK, we had a bad start but we could have taken something from the game. Maybe a point, maybe more. You don’t know what can happen if you take your chances.”
‘We didn’t and we can’t think too deeply about this, we have to think about Tottenham already. Some teams may have folded all together and lost heavily.”
‘The most important thing for us was to stay in the game. The game is long and we knew we couldn’t concede any more quick goals. We had to believe and play well.”
Tiote will again be a key player for Newcastle this afternoon, especially since captain Kevin Nolan will be missing the game through suspension.
It’s also a little worrying that in our last 7 games we’ve had just one win and two draws, and we must start to dig in and produce some points on the board before too long.
Today wouldn’t be a bad time at all to start doing just that, come to think of it.
Howay The Lads!!

Krul
Simpson – Collo – Willo – Bull

Comment #4spurs weakness are their defence so we’ve gotta attack .. gonna be a tough game though .. tiote will have to sort out modric or van der vaart .. not easy .. this is were the pace of ranger helping the midfield and the attack comes in ..
Get in .. hopefully a win .. gonna be tight .. 2 early goals and a 3-1 .. reversal of Man City .. heres hoping 🙂

Comment #8Can Colo not play LB?
Cheick will have to be immense in this match – but then, he usually is.
I don’t think vanderFart and Modric are much cop at defending, so going for the throat in this match might be our best option. Carroll to get 2 and Nile to open his PL account.
