Fraser Forster On Loan At Celtic For The Rest Of The Season

There is news in Scotland today that Celtic can retain the services of Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster, on loan, for the rest of the season.

Fraser Forster – 6’7″ goalkeeper doing well in Scotland

The news is that Newcastle have told Celtic within the last 24 hours that Fraser will be allowed to fulfill the original season-long loan agreement that was agreed between the two clubs  last summer.

There was a possibility that Newcastle would recall their goalkeeper once Steve Harper was injured in September, but Steve is now almost fully fit again, and Dutch U21 goalkeeper Tim Krul has done a good job in goal deputizing for Steve over the last few months.

Fraser is getting some great first team experience out on loan these last couple of seasons, having made 42 appearances for Norwich City  last year in their promotion season, and now he’s played 17 times for the Glasgow giants.

At some point in the future Newcastle will have to decide if they want to keep him, because there’s no doubt a number of clubs would be only too willing to sign the 6’7″ goalkeeper, and of course his value is rising all the time, as  he’s out on loan getting valuable experience and playing very well.

Fraser has 70 first class appearances so far in his career, but has yet to play for the Newcastle first team.

Isn`t it just typical of us. The best goalkeeper on our books and we loan him out, madness!
Wigan/ W. Ham games pivotal for us. 4 points minimum required, nothing less, plus our goal difference needs to get back to positive as this could be crucial at the end.
We got relageted by 1 poxy goal inferior to Hull.
Pardew got to go for wins, not just try not to lose.
Fulham is a prime example, better to win 1 in 2 than draw both.
Yesterday`s team selection was woeful and cowardly from Pardew. ” Gonna try to win every game” Borrox!!
Jonas on the bloody right might be a start!!
Our lass got a better left foot and it`s broken at the mo and in plaster!!

get forster back and make him number 1!

on a seperate note, i think we should be looking at these players in january:

keane or babel (loan to end of the season)
SWP or kranjcar or bentley(loan as well)
    seb larsson (contract expiration)
samba (big unsettled powerful motherf***er to replace big sol as i reckon he’ll look for pastures new)

I’ve never been completly convinced by Harper, and Krul is a flapper that occasionally produces a good save. Personally I would have looked to have brought Forster back in Jan and tried to send Krul back out on loan……. just my opinion

I totally agree with Samba and Larson but wouldn’t want any of the others as they would just use up too much of what I’m sure will be a very small transfer kitty

As someone who has played with both Forster and Krul i can tell you Fraser is better and rated higher by the staff at the club. At least he used to be….

Since Stevy Harper is getting a bit old than I think we should get Fraser Forster back and send Tim Krul out on loan and keep Soderberg as #2. Fraser is a huge lad who makes the best and needing saves. He can save you numerous times from a match. Seems to always be getting clean sheets. For me Tim Krul has just not been good enough. He has one or two good saves than does poor and poorer like against Man CIty.

If he was the best keeper on the books he wouldn’t be sent out on loan lads.

He is not our best keeper at all talk to actual Norwich fans and youll realise they didnt want him back. He has played for two good teams in there league and done OK, hes not going to be an England keeper people calm down
