Parma signed Bulgarian striker Valeri Bojinov from Manchester City on July 4th of this year on what was thought to be a five year deal, and there’s some news today that Newcastle may be interested in the striker.
Valeri Bojinov – while at Manchester City
The 34 times capped Bulgarian International had joined Manchester City back in August of 2007, from Fiorentina, so we wonder why Parma are wanting to sell him after he’s been at the club for just six months.
Turkish side Besiktas are said to be favorites to land the 24-year-old, and from what we can tell he’ll not come particularly cheap, and the news that Newcastle may be interested in the player is, hopefully, just not true.
The 5’10” striker who has a good left foot, has played for Lecce, Fiorentina, Juventus on loan, Manchester City and Parma, and has around 170 first class games to his credit with 56 goals.
We cannot believe this story linking Newcastle with the Bulgarian has any truth in it at all, and it’s also from the Daily Mail.
That doesn’t necessarily mean it isn’t true – just there’s a 99% chance that it isn’t. 😀
