Newcastle Interested In Bulgarian Striker?

Parma signed Bulgarian striker Valeri Bojinov from Manchester City on July 4th of this year on what was thought to be a  five year deal, and there’s some news today that Newcastle may be interested in the striker.

Valeri Bojinov – while at Manchester City

The 34 times capped Bulgarian International had joined Manchester City back in August of 2007, from Fiorentina, so we wonder why Parma are wanting to sell him after he’s been at the club for just six months.

Turkish side Besiktas are said to be favorites to land the 24-year-old, and from what we can tell he’ll not come particularly cheap, and the news that Newcastle may be interested in the player is, hopefully,  just not true.

The 5’10” striker who has a good left foot, has played for Lecce, Fiorentina, Juventus on loan, Manchester City and Parma, and has around 170 first class games to his credit with 56 goals.

We cannot believe this story linking Newcastle with the Bulgarian has any truth in it at all, and it’s also from the Daily Mail.

That doesn’t necessarily mean it isn’t true – just there’s a 99% chance that it isn’t. 😀

If true I would be delighted, I rate him quite highly.
On another note Beskitas have been going on a spending spree lately, Guti and Quaresma in the summer and they’ve just signed Hugo Almeida and Simao

When Bojinov was in the Premier League with Man City he did not appear often. Was always injured. But, when he had the chance he did his best. He is a really powerful left footed striker. Has a thunderous shot. I would take this guy over Ameobi, Best, Lovenkrands any day. Earlier I checked some news and it said that Parma are trying to get Ferderico Macheda from Man U and Borini from Chelsea, in order for that to happen they first need to sell and make some cash. So Bojinov could be ours.

I remember when he signed for Citeh. Although he didn’t have a great time there, I felt as if he could be used better. I don’t know how, but I just has that feeling. Anyway, it’s almost certainly rubbish!

Definately should get rid of a couple of our stikers (best, xisco) before signing another one.

Plus I see ben arfa playing behind carrol when he returns

Im not really sure about this player.
His time at city was kinda a failure.
Beside, take the case of Aquilani,he couldnt even get a place for liverpool, but in the Italian series,he is consider a really great player. But this player is having hard time in Serie A,how would he be able to play in PL.
We should go in for Lavezzi, far better than him.

Does anybody at all know what happened to Fabio Zamplera? He went on a fullseason loan to italian side Roma, they had the option to retain his services but decided not to . So he returned, and then what the hell happened to him??

What we need is a proven PL quality striker. Is he the guy????? I’m not sure.

We don’t need someone who has proven themselves bc they could easily be flops in EPL .

    We need in January:

    LB suitable cover for Jose
    LM someone to challenge Jonas
    ST to start
    HBA

THose 4 will do any suggestions as to who? and please don’t anyone say Adam Johnson, theres no way we will get him he is to key a player for Citeh

Here’s to an exciting transfer window and to (hopefully) staying up!

    Lavezzi!

As in the Lavezzi that would cost £20+ million! I don’t think Ashley will be wanting to buy a £20 million player never mind an unproven one!

To be honest pearceet I think HBA will be the one to challenge Jonas. I’d like to see Jonas moved back onto the right (yes at the expense of his relationship with Jose) because he is a right footed player. He got at least 2 crosses (floated in, but they actually went into the box!) in yesterday and both were from his right foot.

As I was writing it I was tempted to put that exactly, but I prefer Barton to pley on the right and I think that playing a 4-4-2 diamond formation with the Tiote at the bottom and HBA at top Jonas left Barton right.

But wither way we need cover on the wings be it right or left

Off subject. I know again. You know who I really feel sorry for? I followed one of those links to Enrique’s site and was looking through the photos of his Christmas party. All the Latin speakers seemed to be there except Xisco. Looks as if he’s been given the cold shoulder from them as well.

If Barton had a bit more pace and trickery, he’d be a perfect RM. As it stands I think Tayls should probably be chucked there (when fit, of course).

Aye I noticed that too GG. I think it was more of a close friends deal more than “latin speakers unite”. Plus Xisco was probably back home with his family for Christmas morning.

Now that Man City are on the verge of signing Edwin Dzeko for around 35 million. I think we should go after some of their quality premier league players.

    ………………………………………………………………..

    -Shaun Wright-Philips LW/RW
    – Roque Santa Cruz ST
    – Jo ST
    – Craig Bellamy ST
    – Michael Johnson CM
    – Adam Johnson LW/RW
    – Micah Richards RB

I for one would love any of the following at a reasonably price to bolster our wings/midfield:

    Kranjcar
    Bentley
    Benayoun
    Denilson
    O’hara

Then We just need quality RB and striker.

No chance of Adam Johnson, and Micah Richards doubtful, he still gets the odd game. The rest are worthwhile punts but would have to be a knock-down price.

I still believe we will plunder the lower leagues, and bring the odd foreigner in, seem to be our track record so far, and it hasn’t worked out too bad, we just need a step up in quality now of 2-3 key positions – RB/LB quality player/cover, winger with pace who can cross/create chances and a CF to compliment big andy.

    Oh and sign Arfa quicktime!

if Micah Richards is available he will be going to Tottenham, Bojinov would be a good signing it was just when he first came to man city he did his knee ligaments in his first game and kept coming bak to quickly and when he eventually got bak he was far to over weight and again kept getting niggling injuries because of tht but when he played well he played really well and proved he could cut it in the pl, he has an amazing strike with his left foot and actually has a little pace would be a good partner to andy carroll although with both being left footed they both drift over too the left side of the pitch which is wher our manager would need to come in and help train them to one drift and one attack box obviously carroll attacking box

As a complete aside …. Carroll has the most point on Fantasy Premier League, 113, one above Tevez. Mainly for his goals and assists.

For me we don’t need two wingers if we sign Arfa, who’s de facto position is LW.

Bentley for me would be the perfect cultured RW providing pin point crosses for Andy, or could try Jonas on the right, as pointed out he is right footed. I remember when he played for us in the early days, he was amazing, and I’m sure he played some games on the right. That said is we could sign both, Arfa could play in the whole in free role in front of Andy….what a team….

    ………………………..Krul/Harps…………………..

    Simpson….Tayls/Willo….Collo….Enrique

    ……………………………..Tiote……………………….
    ……………….Barton………………Nolan…………..
    Bentley……………………………………………..Arfa
    ……………………………Carroll……………………..

Wouldn’t say no to Kranjcar though, I rate him highly, then Arfa could play in the whole at the expense of Nolan.
