There’s some really bad news today that Andy Carroll has been injured and will miss the game at Wigan Athletic on Sunday.
Andy Carroll – will miss next two games
Carroll’s thigh injury is being assessed ahead of the game on Sunday, but it is likely he will miss the next two games at Wigan and at home to West Ham – both crucial games for Newcastle.
Alan Pardew said today:
“Andy’s got a thigh injury, and it’s being assessed,” “But it looks unlikely that he’ll play.”
With a lot of the lower level sides picking up points in the Christmas season, the next two games are shaping up as absolutely crucial games for Newcastle, and this is not good news – and now who will score the goals for Newcastle?
But the good news is that Shola Ameobi is back form his hamstring problems, so maybe Shola and Peter Lovenkrands will get starts up front on Sunday at the DW stadium, where we just have to go all out for a win, or else continue our recent fall down the table.
Nile Ranger could also start, but it is more likely the 19 year-old will be brought on as an impact substitute.
Sunday is a chance for Shola to come back big time for Newcastle, and we really need need the local lad to turn in a very good game against a team we should be beating.
