Ben Arfa On Verge Of Signing Permanent Deal At Newcastle

It seems almost certain that Ben Arfa will be signing on a permanent basis for Newcastle United.

Ben Arfa – likely to sign some time this week

And since the 23 year-old Frenchman is expected in Newcastle for the game tonight against West Ham United, the deal could be announced at any time.

Sky Sports is reporting that the deal will go through soon, but doesn’t give any specific timeline.

Since Alan Pardew arrived at Newcastle, he pointed a number of the top players that he wanted to tie down on long term contracts at the club, and one of them was Ben Arfa, who is on a season long loan deal at the club.

The French International is still recovering from the double fracture of his lower leg leg he picked up in early October at Eastlands, after a rather wild tackle from Dutchman De Jong.

The Dutch International received much condemnation for the tackle, the follow through was what broke Ben Arfa’s leg, , although it was not even given as a foul in the  early minutes of the game by referee Martin Atkinson.

It wouldn’t surprise us much if the announcement that Ben Arfa has now joined Newcastle was even made today, we certainly hope so.

After the transfer window is over,  we then expect Alan Pardew to press the Newcatsle hierarchy to sign both Joey Barton and Jose Enrique to long term deals at the club, as their contracts have a short 18 months to run.

Comments welcome.

If it happens.. 🙁 I don’t believe anything that posted on that Webshyte anymore, it’s no better than the rest of them, posting crap all the time just to get fans to click on their links… the whole lot of them should be shut down!!!

A massive step in the right direction if it happens. Now just need to get Gradel for Smith swap and Tarabt for Best swap.

On the Carroll rumours, why on earth would we want 2 over paid has beens like Keane and Crouch for Carroll as some media are suggesting?

I really like Andy Carroll and especially his will to fight for the cause and give it everything, but just considering if he were to leave, would it really be as bad as we all fear ?

For argument’s sake we get £30M and buy say for example Wolfswinkle or similar.

With AC we are extremely one dimensional and we can’t really deny that. We don’t use Carroll as well as a good passing team would do. Even at Wigan, players suddenly had to pass and move off the ball, out of their comfort zone and it was good to see.

I also wonder what dazzling intellectual conversation Carroll would have on twitter !

Lots of rumours of Leeds wanting to take Alan Smith back on loan, hopefully something will come of that, maybe with view to a perm deal!

Like Rotonda heights says, if we can get Smith out and Gradel in then that would be another huge piece of business.

    THATS NOT RIGHT

Spuds are not offering Keane, Krancjar, Bentley AND £20M

Its either one or the other.

    Either way, Im not interested.

News says that NUFC’s price on Carroll’s heed is £30M

Yakubu is far too lazy, he is like Oba Martins, when he plays and is involved in the game he can be immense, but he goes missing for long periods of time.

We need an injection of pace and skill and to be fair Keane has both.

Dont get me wrong, Im no Keane fan, but out of them two Keane would be my choice.

we need pace up front i would keep best and swap smith for gradel .
i think keane will go to birmingham this month.
taraabt would also give us depth to the squad.
wishfull thinking i know but ime a geordie

this lad could be the future of newcastle. a couple of good seasons. with his past reputation, we sort his attitude “problem” out, could be worth 30m in a couple of years. with him and carroll be worth 60m between them. no provided we dont sell anyone we could potentially have

    hollands first choice goal keeper
spains first choice left back in a couple of seasons
    france’s first choice cam
england’s first choice striker (unless rooney pulls his train wreck of a season around)
    and XISCO!!!

Great news about Ben Arfa and hope its true. Lot of sense in comment by Rotunda heights. Why go for an extra wage bill bigger than Carroll’s in order to lose him for Bentley and Keane. No sense. No logic. I thought Carroll was wanting to stay with us anyway. Trouble is Ashley has a cash till for a heart. Gradel sounds worth it too. Slam the Ham tonite lads!!!

can’t see the big man AC leaving us, or Ashley considering selling our prize assett, why offer him a new deal, pay him more ££ then listen to offers from the spuds? i dont think he will let him go. he will be a dead man walking if he does, the fans will crucify him, he knows that.

Here is that article translated to English…

“According to British press can Tottenham willing to sacrifice Robbie Keane, David Bentley and Niko Kranjc to get to the Newcastle striker Andy Carroll. Would not it be a reality so can London club also willing to pay about 230 million for the striker. The question is how hungry Newcastle are to release their gem.”

230 Million? Bloody Hell, how much was Ca$hley wanting to sell the entire club for!?

That post is summed up for me by the fact that it is on a blog called “SillyBloggen”

This is fantastic news! I’ve been waiting for this moment ever since the “#¤%%& tackle from de Jong. Kept reading rumours about this since nov/des…..Really hopes this goes through. Has anybody got an idea of when we can expect to see him on the pitch again? Read somewhere that late february could be it??

With Ben Arfa, Nolan, Tiote and Barton on the midfield, with Gosling just around the corner as well, I think we have amongst the top 4 midfields in PL.

Hoping that Tarabt goes through as well, he seems like a good addition for the Toon!
