Tottenham has been reported to have made an official inquiry about the availability of Newcastle’s Andy Carroll.
Andy Carroll – Spurs inquiry given short shrift
Sky Sports News has been told that when Spurs chairman Daniel Levy made the inquiry he was told that Carroll was simply not for sale.
But that may stop Spurs from making an offer for the player.
Carroll is the future of Newcastle, and with Newcastle having just signed French International Ben Arfa today on a four and a half year deal, the Magpies are starting to improve their squad, and will hardly want to sell their best players.
It’s highly unlikely that new Newcastle boss Alan Pardew or even owner Mike Ashley would risk the wrath of the Newcastle fans by letting their local hero, who wears the famous number 9 shirt on Tyneside, move away from Tyneside.
We have to think the chances of Newcastle selling Carroll anytime soon are at best – low to zero.
