Spurs’ Inquiry About Carroll Given Short Shrift By Newcastle

Tottenham has been reported to have made an official inquiry about the availability of Newcastle’s Andy Carroll.

Andy Carroll – Spurs inquiry given short shrift

Sky Sports News has been told that when Spurs chairman Daniel Levy made the inquiry he was told that Carroll was simply not for sale.

But that may stop Spurs from making an offer for the player.

Carroll is the future of Newcastle, and with Newcastle having just signed French International Ben Arfa today on a four and a half year deal, the Magpies are starting to improve their squad, and will hardly want to sell their best players.

It’s highly unlikely that new Newcastle boss Alan Pardew or even owner Mike Ashley would risk the wrath of the Newcastle fans by letting their local hero, who wears the famous number 9 shirt on Tyneside,  move away from Tyneside.

We have to think the chances of Newcastle selling Carroll anytime soon are at best – low to zero.

Comments welcome.

Glad we’ve flat refused them, still hopefully they wont stick a big bid in because we all know how much fat ash likes his cash.

Off topic, but you should stick Tiote in the players banner on top of the screen Ed, going to be our player of the season I reckon.

Anyone think it is a coincience that AC become injured just in time for the Jan Transfer window?

Just the Toon’s way of taking him out of the shop window?

I really don’t think Ashley will sell he can’t afford anymore mistakes and signing. Benny just proves we are signing class for the future and ashley is building the club he ain’t gonna sell and everything pardew has done has been spot on I thought it was harsh of him to drop krul but he was right more experience and it got us a clean sheet we are moving forward bentley/
Wright Phillips next and I would love to see Adabyour how ever you spell it but his wages are massive

could that possibly be why carroll and his agent met with llambias? making sure big andy wanted to stay before they turned down the offer. Not saying i do or dont believe craigcoozy but hes been accurate before, that could well be the reason they met.

Can you See Andy Carrol Walking down Golders Green High Street with His 10 Gallen Hat on Daft Beard Cromby Coat etc working as a 3 Yard Skid !!!!! He would Rather Die Than Leave Newcastle . We Need World Class Players Now Not sell Them & Ashley Knows If he sells Big andy It is The end . Go and Move To Marbella Never to Darken the Uk Again .

what do people think about seb larsson, free agent in the summer so could get for little over a million now, low wages, think he is on around 20k a week at birmingham, better attitude than bentley, play him on the right and frees up barton to play in the middle, only draw back is he doesnt have good pace but he does have great delivery

I know it’s bad to say this but I think we were actually quite lucky that Ben Arfa broke his leg, if he had played the 25 games that was agreed in the loan deal and banged in 15 goals and set the world alight there would have been no chance of getting him for what we actually paid!!!!! Any way loving it we knocked the spuds back I feckin hate harry redknapp

Agreed @irish_al, he would be a good signing but would be more rotation than 1st Team. I think we need pace on the right, someone like Lennon, he frightens left backs with his pace and positioning! Obviously we wouldn’t go for Lennon but someone of that mould!!!

Every player has a price. Just Spurs cannot afford Carroll’s. What surprises me more is that we haven’t had rumour mills working overtime to shift Tiote. Apart from some daft yellows, he’s been the stand out player for us and the best ball-winning enforcer I’ve seen this year.

Yeah Ryan it would be good to have more pace in the team but we have that on the left with little effect, i think someone quick through the middle would be good though, stuck on who we could get, but i reckon Larsson would be a good addition, i’d say a better choice than Beckham or Bentley, Routledge has pace but adding Larrson would give us a choice, and when Carroll is up front you dont need to beat a man and cross from the by line we can get to him by crossing from deep, Barton has done really well but it his not his ideal position and moving him in to the centre means we have another choice before bringing on Smith 😉

ha ha I like it irish_al!!! Anything to stop smudger get on!!! Your’re right mate, Jonas is largley ineffective at the moment! I just wish he would grow his bollocks back and run at defenders like he used to coz they’d never know where they was until they were on the arse and jonas was 5m ahead of them crossing the ball! Krancjar would be a good signing, Larrsson would be a a good cheap signing in terms of wages and bentley would be good as he has alot to prove so I think he’d be up for it!

really like Krancjar but his wages will be inflated since joining spurs and a bit put off by what they’re supposedly asking for him, although when the papers are saying spurs are looking to sell a group of players for a certain value i think they must be making it up as the deals would all be seperate (unless someone wants to pay 20 million for a large bag of spuds) i take on board what you say about bentley having something to prove i don’t think he tries as much as he should, bit of a prima donna, but that’s just my opinion mate, anyone on here actually watched Ricky Van Wolfswinkel or have any idea what he is worth?

I’d say Van Wolfswinkel would be valued at around 6-7 million, maybe even more I wouldn’t really say any less but I hope Utrect offload him!
