Newcastle Trying To Offload Xisco On Loan

News today that Newcastle are trying to offload Spanish U21 striker Xisco on loan o some Spanish club – any Spanish club.

Xisco – Newcatsle will try to off-load and recuperate wages

Xisco signed a 5 year bountiful contract in late August of 2008, and is one major reason that Kevin Keegan left the club, after realizing cockney Dennis Wise was pulling the strings on who was coming and going at Newcastle.

So Xisco’s contract runs out in the summer of 2013,  and he’s therefore only half way through his contract,  and we think his intention is to stay on Newcatsle’s books so he can pick up his huge wages through 2013.

That’s his right of course,  but it looks like he will do what Marcelino did and pick up huge wages while hardly ever playing for the Newcastle first team.

Newcastle will try to recuperate some of his wages by loaning the player out as much as they can – probably to Spanish clubs.

The news today is that Newcastle have offered the 24 year-old Xisco to Spanish sides Real Zaragoza and Racing Santander on loan.

Xisco is the type of deal that we hope Newcatsle will not do too many times in the future as he cost the club a massive £5.7M and around 50K/week in wages over a potential five years.

He’s appeared only 9 times for the club with one goal that he scored on his debut against Hull City on 13th September, 2008.

If he is on £50K a week (that may be a little high),  he will cost Newcastle up to £18M over the five years, and it’s unlikely he will play again for the first team.

Not a good use of the club’s funds to be sure, and not a good signing by Dennis Wise – no wonder Kevin was furious.

Comments welcome.

Looked ok to me when he played on the wing, although that was pre-season, and means nothing ultimately. I would like him to be given a chance before we get rid though. I would love to know what managers see in training that makes them overlook him? From what I have been told (3rd party information like, so far from concrete) he is a good grafter at the training pitch. If he is never going to get a game why was he named in our squad?

I’m not sure we can fault Xisco. He seemed ok the few times I saw him play. Got an assist in the 6-0 over Villa (I don’t think he started that match), I wonder why he’s not given a chance.

No-one will want to pay any money for him Rob.

The only way we’ll be able to sell him is to loan him out for the rest of the season, and hope he plays well enough in enough games for someone to put an offer in.

No club will buy him outright now as he hasnt really played in a long time.

I think he deserves a chance like, he played well in pre-season, and got an assist in the Villa game if I remember correctly.

I say give him a shot against stevenage on saturday.

Clearing out wage payments for our move for Bentley. If we offload Xiscos wages we have more room for Bentleys. That’s my thinking anyway.

Im sorry but after Leon Best last night, has he not proved that everyone is worth a chance?

We splashed quite a bit of cash on Xisco and he has not been tried at all, he looked good in pre season on the wing, just give the lad a try FFS.

In terms of exits up front I think:
Strolla should be shown the exit
Ranger should be sent out on loan

a loan is pointless, no-one will take his wages so we may aswell have him here.

I say we just ship him out for next to nothing, and put a clause in the deal saying we get 75% of any future fee. Therefore if he does come good, we dont miss out.

Xisco is here for the wage. Nothing else. KK, AS, CH, all give him a go. All be it a short go but he has never looked interested!! AP does not want people at the club who arent interested in winning for the team. Look at his statement re best. “No goals, no assists, why should i give you a chance” Best response “Coz I know i can do it if given a chance” . If Xisco done this maybe he would have got his chance???
I totally agree with the Sell strolla thinking, and on Ranger, there is alot going on behind the scenes with that lad, he too should be shown the door, be it on loan or permanent.
We want 100% commited players who will give blood for the team if need be!! Strolla will not, Ranger will not, Xisco will not!!
No room for sentiment in this game!!

He deserves a chance, and Ed I’m pretty sure he scored on his debut against Fulham.

It looks as though Pards has taken a sterner line with Ranger than Houghton by promoting Best above him – and now Best has grabbed that chance. I still think Ranger could become the best striker at the club but he needs to get his finger out. He also needs to take a leaf from Best’s cool finishes. No doubt his heart was pumping but he took his 3 goals like a sniper.
I think Nile needs to be loaned out like Forster and Tozer who are doing really well. Need to find the right club and the right coach for this boy, though or he could go backwards.

@ ED; Starting articles with “News Today” does not fill me with confidence.
I may well be wrong, but I don’t think this is official.
A bit like Best I’ve never had much of a chance to see him play.
A few more injuries and we will need him – or Alan Smith up front!

As a lot of people have said on here, why isn’t Xisco ever given a proper chance? He could just be another Best. Carroll was given an awful lot more time even though he wasn’t prolific at first. It does smack a bit of homophobia, although the last I heard Xisco was now married !

Also Loven and Best really worked well and we played great football on the deck with great passing and moving as we have done in the last 2 games now. Does Carroll just walk back in, no matter what ?

Xisco is a better player than Best. Give him his chance and he will prove it. Another hat trick for newcastle…maybe..

Xisco is @ 22 now, and should be at a “make or brake” point in his career. When he has played for NUFC in pre-season & this year he has made no mistakes, so he must suffer by comparison. Not as fast as Routledge, not as tricky as Jonas and maybe not the passer or crosser. Maybe he has a poor shot? Maybe he falls asleep on defense? Few of us know. If I were his agent, I’d tell him get with AP and fight for a place. If there is no room at NUFC, then work with NUFC to find a team for a loan or sale. If Xisco wnats to play, he cannot let his temporary big money ruin his future on hte pitch.

Give Xisco a chance. He can score goals which is something Ranger can’t do in the BPL.

Shows how fickle some NUFC Fans are calling Ranger not to be be played again and then everyone loving Best cause of a Hat Trick, Rather sad, Best hat trick was a Ameobi type goals all on a plate for him he even slipped and was soo slow and moving to the ball he got extremely lucky, overall Ranger is out best young striker who needs to be played and he has the ability and should start at Stevenge, give him a FULL 90 and see what he does. I still worry about our attack Ameobi is just too old getting injured every week and hardly runs for the cause, if Carrols outs Best is ok nothing special got 3 goals but next time may not even score a fluff his line then the everyone will turn to dislike Leon. Xisco should be given a chance he nearly scores at Villa for Carrols to take it off him.

The good thing about Alan Pardew is that :

    1) gave Nile Ranger more playing time. e.g Liverpool Match
    2) gave Shane Ferguson to replace jonas during west ham game
    3) Leon Best start and score a hatrick!
