Newcastle’s Joey Barton Simply The Best

We had said that the performance of a number of our experienced players would determine how Newcastle would do in our first season back in the Premier League.

Joey Barton – playing great for Newcastle this season

And certainly one of those players, Joey Barton, is in the form of his life this season,  and again ran the game last night for Newcatsle United from the corners and free kicks, and he looked a great player – it’s as simple as that.

In fact manager Alan Pardew said after the game it was one of the best midfield performances he had ever seen.

And of course Joey is now  a huge favorite amongst Newcatsle fans, because the former bad boy of football is now showing just how important he is to Newcatsle United, a club he seems to love.

Newcastle manager Alan was asked if he thinks Joey Barton should be in Fabio Capello’s squad, and Pardew said today:

“In what I have seen since I have been here, for sure 100%.” “He has the quality to do it, but he has had temper problems and a question mark against him.”

“He is a player you need to look after and tell how important he is, and I think the Newcastle faithful saw that.”

“There were a few standing on their feet when he was taking corners and quite right too.”

Alan Pardew has very smart in almost everything he’s done since he arrived on Tyneside a short four weeks ago, and some of those are to tie down both Steven Taylor and Ben Arfa to the Tyneside club for years to come.

And it’s clear that come February Alan will be pushing the Newcastle hierarchy to sign up both Joey Barton and Jose Enrique, so that Pardew has the core of players he can build the side around in the coming seasons.

Joey Barton is a huge player for Newcastle United these days,  and there’s not too many midfielders better than Joey in the Premier League this season.

Newcastle may even be just three or four good players away from having an extremely good side.

yes he simply is the best but if im honest im beginning to think he’s leaving at the end of the season i just dont think ashley will offer him a renewed contract :\ which is maybe why wer lookin at these midfielders coming in like bentley gradel and obv gosling coming back and pardew supposidly tellin ben arfa he will be playing in a central role, av got it in me head that unfortunatly Joey will be off at end of season. HOPE NOT.!!

Love him! He epitomises what we are all about now. He along with some other senior players are responsible for our turnaround. Forever in depth to him. There’s only one Joey Barton!

Sign him! ok he is old etc, but if we can get him cheap (and ONLY if), he would be great for a season or two to help carroll out with his finishing. Klose has the best goal-scoring ability ive seen since Shearer!

With the way bartoon is crossing, Klose should score a hat trick every game!

Joey will not leave the Toon, fair enough commitment is hard to find these days but we are only Joey’s 2nd club at the age of 28 so there must be some commitment there somewhere. He looks like he loves playing for the team and the fans. He’ll sign a new deal come February as will Jose, Pardew wouldn’t risk losing 2 of his best players for hardly owt.

I think the first names on AP’s team sheet are:

    Joey, Enrique, Tiote, Collo

I like the fact that AP will select players on form rather than status, I dont think AP would think twice about dropping anyone, whereas CH always had his best buddies act with Nolan.

I honestly think that Joey would take a wage cut to stay here. He loves the club, the fans and I think that he knows he owes us. After all we saved his career a few times.

I think Ashley needs to create another band in the wage structure for 26-32 year old players.

I’m not proposing signing players in this category but players like Colo, Barton and Nolan, the experienced backbone of the team and dressing room motivators need to be on decent competitive wages.

I’d be negotiating with Joey now.
    He’s a fantastic player.

While Narton (and Nolan) had lots of chat with ref Mike Dean, most of them ended with smiles on everyones faces. To me, it seems those two, maybe with some guidance from AP, are matching their remarks to the sensitivities of the whiste blowers. No cards for NUFC last night, while the carping Hammers got four for their dissent.

    Team for Cup Match:

    Subs: Harps-Loverman-Xisco-Colo-Inman-Donaldson.

At some stage also I would love to see Jose Enrique played as an out and out left winger and see how he gets on. just a thought.

That is with taking these injuries into consideration and also hoping Campbell has recovered.

Injured for the match on Saturday:

    Ben Arfa

Mo Drysdale – I don’t think Gosling will start, look whats just happened with Meyler at scum, hes out for another 6 months for being rushed back. Maybe Lover instead, but that’s a line up I would go with.

Just read an article that Pards said that he would play his strongest team, so I think he will go with something like this.

Subs: Krul, Perch, Kadar, Guthrie, Gosling, Vuckic, Xisco

Taking these injuries in to con:

Raylor, Saylor, Smith, Gutierrez, Tiote, LuaLua, Ben Arfa, Carroll, Best, Ameobi

hows is ranger lazy :s every time hes came on he’s ran and ran and ran even yday he lost the ball and chased back to try get it he’s anything but lazy he just needs to chill out infront of goal instead of gettin excited..and Oba is rubbish he was one of the reasons we got relegated cos he couldnt score and all he had was pace he couldnt finsh and his control was awful

Yea Klose! But i read the story wrong, i thought he was out of contract NOW so we would get him for free transfer fee wise. But he isnt out of contract till summer so pointless!

Back to the point! Barton is fantastic and has been all season. We wont sell him because we cant afford too unless Ashley wants us get relegated again.

And Ranger is a great player. He deserves a bit of stick for missing a sitter but so would Carroll in the same situation! Its just a bit of banter at the end of the day and didnt make a difference to the result. He will finish his next chance dont you worry.

Players to sign to compensate for injuries

    1) Eden Hazard
    2) Stefan Kiesling
    3) Samba from blackburn who wants out

    General notes

    1)Get Barton’s contract sorted!
    2) Stay away from Bentley (,19528,12876_6638142,00.html)
    3) Release Campbell.

Concerning the subject i would love for Joey to stay but i think 50K a week is a lot for a player that has been injured as much as him…

We pay Xisco 50k per week for what?

Our player who should be in the England Squad are:
    Nolan (Goals and Assists)
Barton (how many assist does he have?)

I agree. If Jordan Henderson and Michael Carrick (and even G.Barry) can make the squad, then our two lads definately have more than a shout.

With Heskey, Crouch, Walcot, Defoe and even Rooney (given his recent form) as competition, Andy Carroll is of course a no brainer now. for Capello.

And what about Steve Harper? He certainly deserves a call up at last and on merit? Can be forgiven for overlooking him when he played second fiddle to Given but even then, he was better than Robinson and James. No excuses now cos surely he cannot be deemed worse than Foster, Carson and Green. Best cover for Hart.
