Pardew May Allow Some Fringe Players To Move On In January

It could be that some of the Newcastle  fringe players will depart in January, according to manager Alan Pardew.

Danny Guthrie – allowed to move in in January?

But Alan Pardew has already said that Alan Smith will not leave the club, at least in January.

Although we have to think Alan  may be expendable in the summer, and especially if Leeds United, his former club who are said to be interested in him, can gain promotion back to the Premier League come May.

And James Perch, who was Newcastle’s right back at the beginning of the season, will also not be allowed to leave.

This is what Alan Pardew said this morning:

“There are a couple of squad players at the club who haven’t featured much, who may get a chance to move on,”

“If we think that is better for them we may need to replace them – and that could happen.”

“I wouldn’t want someone like James  Perch to leave. I think he’s a good character and his Newcastle career has really only just begun.”

So we wonder who those players are who could leave?

We would have expected Ryan Taylor to move on this  month, but that’s hardly likely with the player currently out with his ankle injury.

And Danny Guthrie doesn’t seem to have come on much at all this season, and he may be one that is let go this month.

We say that because it seems that Danny is not able to get a game at Newcastle, so he cannot be too impressive in training.

Sol Campbell and Xisco are the other two who may be allowed to leave – and we think that in the case of Xisco – Newcastle would send him out on loan or sell him, if only another club was  interested in the player.

Who do you think could move out in January?

Comments welcome.

    The usual suspects.
If you were fit last night and could get in the team, or did play and couldnt hack it, get your bags packed, you are not good enough. Lovenkrands, Perch, Routledge, Ranger, Smith.
you were outclassed by a team that was in the conference last year, and for that reason, you’re fired.

Huh? Guthrie? He’s a solid player and probably the only one that can pass in the squad, besides Barton. I think Pardew needs to give Guthrie a chance now that Tiote is out for 3 games.

Do you actually watch the games, or simply playstation?
Next time you do actually watch a real game, count how many times Guthrie gives the ball away or tries the ‘hollywood’ pass instead of playing the simple and effective option. He is not now, nor ever will be Premier league class. Championship player at best. I wish he was playing against us, then you would see how crap he really is. Pass the ball? Yeah so could Geremi, Viana, Pancrate….

Once again Alan Smith was a total waste space.Like the Adam Ant song”Can`t pass ,can`t tackle,What can he do.”What does he offer our team, simple answer …nothing, biggest waste of £60K per week ever.He should be told not to bother coming to work and sit at home where he mote effective for NUFC as he allows other players to play.
Alan Smith will not go because no other team will pay £60K per week for a sh#te player. We are stuck with him for another 18 months, let him cut the grass at training ground.

Maybe Perch is a good character. But he can’t defend and that’s what he’s getting paid for. Not giving the lads a laugh or what ever.

Oh yeah go ahead and slam a player who played a big part in getting us promoted. Not Premiership class? How many chances has he been given this season? And when he did play, he had hardly returned to match fitness. When you see the absolute lack of creativity in this team, you would appreciate someone like Guthrie who can deliver a proper through pass

Let’s be realistic, if we put them all up for sale how many offers would we get? 4? 5? And how many could we not get rid of on free transfers? 4? 5? I remember a pre-season workout under Keegan when we played completely different premier quality teams in each half – but this lot, to be realistic we have half a quality team who should finish mid-table, so lets just accept that and build it up wherever possible.

I think we are all being unfair toward Guthrie and are being to narrow minded to focus on the west brom game. The truth is that he can be a good squad player and judging by stevenage that is exactly what we are lacking.

However Alan smith on the other hand is totally different and if the club needs any form of chaffering to remove him form the area within the next month please feel free to contact me

    boing123 @15:

deliver a proper pass? I will give you a pound for every free kick he delivers to a black and white player, and you give me a quid for every time he picks out the goalies gloves. (offer not available when we play Notts County, St Mirren or Grimsby). Idiot, you dont know what you are watching.
Now wheres that Aston Martin dealership when you need one.

If i were to choose between Guthrie and Smith, i would choose Guthrie every time.

He is 23 yrs old (and still learning) and he can PASS the ball. Smith is the most crap midfielder in the world – perhaps the only midfielder that CANT pass

Pards must also think he`s crap he doesn`t put him on the bench, puts the younger players there instead, GOOD.

As for the championship he wasn`t good at all just average, thats his level, end of.

Lets not forget that next week Shola is gonna terrify the unwashed. He is as good as a goal start for us, they are shite scared of him ha ha ha. You cant beat having a home grown geordie in the team against Albania – on – Wear.
Gutted about Tiote, and for once it would be nice if Smith screwed his stupid Yorkshire loaf and played football, instead of getting booked after 3 minutes and becoming an absolute liability. Unless Gosling, or A.N other can fill in for Tiote, because twinkle toes Guthrie is not the answer, we may as well play with 10 men. How about taylor / Willo central defence, with Colo in DM in place of Tiote? Works for me. (Are you watching Pardew?)

Lynxie : i agreed with you, collocini can play at DM

My replacement for DM (according to skills):
    1) Barton, with routledge or ranger playing on Right Winger
    2) Guthrie – he can distribute the ball at LEAST
    3) Collocini – he play here several time in his career
    4) Vuckic – i know he is attacking player but he can do it than smith
    5) Donaldson
    6) Unknown 19 years old
    7) Unknown 18 years old
    8) Unknown 17 years old
    50001) Alan Smith’s Dad
50002) Alan Smith – who CANT pass the ball

Just thinking who I would be happy to leave Newcastle, then had a second thought and percieved might be easier to say who I would keep.
Not saying they are all first teamers but Squad players who can do a job.

    GK – Keep them all
    RB – Simpson
    LB – Enrique Ferguson
CB – STaylor, Colo, Kadar, Williamson
    MF- Barton, Nolan, Tiote,Vucik,Donaldosn
    Ben Arfa, Gosling
    CF- Carroll, Ranger?

This is based on the players I have seen us this season representing the first team in all competitions.

I may have missed some obvious players out but thinking off the top of my head.

So from my list quite a few serious outgoings and new blood needed.

Think at present we can put a decent first 11 out but I have to say somewhat concerned with the big match coming up soon, we could struggle to field a good first team.

Anyone heard anything on Tiote’s card being appealed?

I would prefer Guthrie to stay instead of Smith!! Smith doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing on the pitch. I think he gets confused and thinks he’s playing rugby. I can remember Guthrie scoring a couple of good and important goals for us a while back, when was the last time Smith did that for us??

Smith, Xisco, Campbell, Perch – Out if not now in summer please!

Routledge, Gutierrez, Lovenkrands, Ameobi = Squad players (back up only)

Larsson, Max Gradel, Micah Richards, Alan Johnson – Possible signings that would improve our squad.

Guthrie’s a good player given a run in the team.
He’s put in some game winning performances in the past and is young enough to still develop his skills.

Hey!!! Alan Smith is probably too slow now, but he’s been club captain and I know that I wish I’d been club captain of Newcastle United ….

… so a bit of respect for a guy who helped us get promoted last year! We wouldn’t be in the Premiership if not for players like Alan Smith who was great last year.

Guthrie is a terrible player. His horrendous mistake against West Brom was terrible and it looked like he feigned an injury just to get off the pitch as he was embarrassed. If you watch the replay of the incident, you will see him f..k up in midfield, fall to the ground, look up again to see what was happening, West Brom score and Guthrie puts his head back down to carry on with his terrible terrible pain……..sh1te. He has no pace, no skill and his passing is average at best. CC is best suited for him.
