There is a report in French Daily L’Equipe today, that Newcastle United are one of the clubs who have targeted Moroccan forward Youssef El Arabi.
Youssef El Arabi – can play on either wing or as a striker
The player currently plays for his home town club, French Ligue 1 side, Stade Malherbe Caen, who are currently third bottom of the French league.
The 23-year-old 6’1″ Moroccan forward has so far scored 10 goals this season in 16 games, and is the current Ligue 1 second-leading scorer, and he is attracting interest from clubs in Europe.
Youssef usually plays on the right wing, but he can play in a number of different postilions including on the left wing or as a striker.
The Morocco international is contracted to Caen until 2013 and is said to be valued at around £4M, although that seems a rather high valuation.
The player has played 53 times for Caen with 21 goals, and has so far played 3 times for Morocco, and made his debt for his country only last September.
Wolfsburg, Marseille and PSG are also said to be interested in the forward.
