Who Knows If Reports Linking Newcastle With Ziani Are True

The Daily Mail today is reporting that Newcastle manager Pardew is to follow up his interest in Wolfsburg central midfielder Karim Ziani.

Karim Ziani – are Newcastle really interested?

28 year-old Ziani has been linked with Newcastle for a few weeks now, but it’s hard to know whether the  reported  interest is genuine.

Karim seems a decent and creative player,  but the news that he had a feud with former Marseille team-mate Hatem Ben Arfa, is  hardly good news.

The last thing Newcastle want is for their players to be feuding and not get along, especially since Chris Hughton created such a terrific team spirit amongst the players in his short 18 months in charge at Newcastle.

So the latest on Ziani is that he’s the subject of talks between Newcastle and Wolfsburg this week, but we really don’t know if this is just another made-up story.

But since we’ve heard of that bust-up with Ben Arfa,  if Karim does arrive at Tyneside, it would be a risk the Tyneside club was taking – that’s for sure.

players feud all the time and then get on with there lives, no big deal imo. just look at carroll and S taylor.

papers are lazy when it comes to the transfer window so i will just wait until a manager says something or there something on official website.

the daily mail have also proved they read blogs for info (barton celebration and sol fitness) so could be just picking names that are mentioned on these sites

Well someone said yesterday that Ziani was in Toon and was being given the tour.

But then we get this report today:

“Ziani flew to Turkey yesterday and has all but signed for Kayserispor who are currently 4th in Turkey’s ‘Super Lig’.

It is reported that Kayserispor coach Shota Arveladze managed to win Ziani over despite interest in the player from Galatasaray.

The deal will apparently take the form of a loan until the end of the season with an option to purchase for 2.5m Euros thereafter.”

    So I have NO IDEA!

In this video,Ziani said the fight was due to frustration on the pitch, causing a late challenge.
He also added that there is nothing in it(its really common thing on the pitch) and if needed he would have done this tackle to his best friend. 😀

Beside, this fight was like a year ago.
Doubt they would hold any grudge by now.

I really can’t see Ashley selling Carroll, at the end of the day, why would he sell both his best assest and player with the most potential for the future.

Why sell him in january for £20m, when he can sell him in a year or twos time for £40m.

He may be canny stupid but he’s still a billionaire so must have some business sense.

How many times has Pardew come out to say that Carroll is not for sale, the last time he was asked he was sick of having to answer the question. Redknapp said it was a ‘No goer’, he asked if he was for sale and was told no.
If Bothroyd comes in, then either Best or Ameobi will be going I think, as they’re quite similar.

Ziani surely will go to Turkey. They pay huge wages out there and it’s full of journeymen.
Decent player but do we need another hot-headed player in the team? Not sure about that one.

Ameobi will never leave. Lets face it, he’s here to stay.
Best has only scored in one of those eight starts, albeit a canny hattrick against a shocking Hammers side.

@alex84: Bothroyd is very much in the mould of Best. Bit more experience but I don’t see why we should have 3 strikers all of the same ability (Shola, Best, Bothroyd) – let’s change things up a bit ffs!

i really dont see why everyone has had it in for best since the day he signed, he is good player and yes west ham were poor but all 3 goals he took well and for he is ahead of xisco/lovenkrands and ranger the first 2 who will be sold by the summer and ranger needs loaned out

my own personal opinion on signings and i honestly think its worth the risk as we would make our money back either way:
    IN:
    Charlie Austin – £2million
    Adam Lallana – £3/4million
    Matty Jarvis – £4million
    Youseff El Arabi – £3.5/£4million
    David Wheater – £2.5million
Max Total – £16.5million but probably less.

    OUT:
    Smith – £2million
    Routledge – £3million
    Lovenkrands – £1/£2million
    Guthrie – £2/3million
    Campbell – 500k
Total Recieved – £10.5million maybe more.!
then all weve spent is little over 6 million if we go on the max payed a think that is a really good amount for the players we’d be signing yes its a risk with those players but is it a risk worth taking? i certainly think so all young and up and coming talent with plenty of potential.!

I’ve always said that the only thing Best didn’t do in his first few months here was score, he looked great in pre-season before his injury and his first start he gets a hat trick. He’s a good player but we don’t need another Best – we need a completely different option in the mould of Lovenkrands (unless he starts wearing his shooting boots).

I think Ranger needs to put the ball in the net a few times to get a bit confidence. I agree a loan deal would probably be a good idea, although I don’t like the fact that if that happens and we don’t get a decent forward, when Andy C is out injured, Shola/Best/Lovenkrands are the next choice strikers.

Charlie Austin would walk on broken glass to get the chance to play for Newcastle. The kid knows where the net is, and has a very bright future. Get him now before someone else steals him from Swindon I am certain Ranger / Xisco could be used as a makeweight.

For all his faults, shola had 7 goals in 13 starts this season. More than Torres, rooney and plenty of other much vaunted strikers.

I know it’s irritating for Nufc_rich and the other benwell half-wits that gangly old ‘lazy’ shola continues to help earn the team valuable points, but that’s just the way it is.

Austin looks good, but is a massive punt. I’d sign him up but I doubt it’s what pardew is looking for – an automatic partner for Carroll.

Hope that’s not bothroyd because I agree he offers no more than what we already have. I also hoped pardew wouldn’t be our new manager though so who knows?

Odemwingie would be nice. Don’t know if we add any extra value that WBA these days though.

My annoyance with Shola is that he’s just got nothing left in his tank after 50mins of a match.

I don’t think I’ve ever really seen him break his balls in the second half of a match…

He does get important goals and he is a threat but he just doesn’t ever do it for 90 minutes.

i agree with you boater but he doesnt offer enough week in week out and for a club like newcastle we need everyone to be giving 110% every game but i do certainly agree he has a good record this season so perhaps we are being abit unfair on him sometimes.. Get Charlie Austin SIGN HIM UP NOW.!!

My top plan for Sunday (for what it is worth)
4-5-1 for first half. they are gonna come at us with teeth gnashing and arms a flailing. We stand up to that and mix it with them.

last 30 mins, bring shola on, go to 4-4-2, and start attacking their suspect, and by now tired defence.
Predicted result, 2-0 victory to Toon. Be surprised if it finishes 11 v 11 though, especially with that fanny Webb in control (or not in control as the case may be)

boater i tend to agree with you regarding Ameobi even though he’s not mine or everyone’s cup of tea…he’s a decent squad player and therefore good backup for Carroll…why sell him and replace him with someone else who is basically gonna cost us between £3-£5 million with no guarantee of the goals Ameobi provides.

those days are over – well and truly
