Kevin Nolan – Newcastle United Captain For The Ages

Kevin Nolan has had another good season for Newcastle so far, and will again lead out the Newcastle side at the Stadium of Light on Sunday lunchtime.

Kevin Nolan – Newcastle United captain for the ages

And if anybody thought that Kevin isn’t just as proud as punch to be the Newcastle captain, then think again.

Kevin talked today about being the captain of  of the famous Newcastle United club:

“It is a marvelous moment every time I have the armband.”  “I cannot thank Chris Hughton enough for giving me the captaincy.”“It is a proud moment every time, whether it is at Stevenage, the Stadium of Light or St James’ Park.”

“I love it – I know what it means to people, and I want them to know it means so much to me to lead this team and fantastic club out.

“It was great getting the hat-trick in the last game.”  “It was one of the proudest moments of my career.”

“But I don’t care who scores this time as long as we get the right result.”

We said before Kevin became the official captain this season, that the Liverpudlian had all the attributes  to be one of the best captains Newcastle have had for decades.

And there’s nothing that’s happened this season that makes us want to reconsider that in any way, shape or form.

For the record Nolan has played 79 times for Newcastle with 27 goals.

Kevin Nolan sweats blood for the Newcastle cause, and you cannot ask much more than that.

Howay The Lads!!

Interesting how Allardyce described him as a fair to middling premiership midfielder but in the box he comes alive and transforms into an immaculate finisher. Still one of the leading goalscorers in the prem. not bad for leggy midfielder in a promoted side.

    Anyone seen this?,26691,16497_6660377,00.html

Could Nolan be in trouble with the FA for being so open?

what kevin has in abundance is composure, i think thats what makes him a good captain, a good player and gets him all his goals as there are players with far more talent who dont do half of what kevin does.

Doubt it even the currupt FA cannot get him suspended, tbh it would just cause them problem with the club i suspect if Nolan would get done the WHOLE newcastle team would try something like Boycotting a game which FA cannot afford to happen. End of the day some Scumderland fans must be on the FA board or something we dont get no luck with refs nor the FA wonder if its connected? Back on Nolan i agree he has the passion for a captains role but he has been for his ability far too inconsistant, in some games hes on top form (usually when Andy plays) then some games he is annoynmous, it gets a bit worrying if you captain is hit and miss doesnt this rub off on the whole team and could explain as a whole why WE have been inconsistant all season beating top teams then losing to poor ones.

    ok, so i gather that:

ziani is not coming because he doesnt like ben arfa, and he going turkey team.

we not getting larsson because he a greedy little brat. and we have officialy withdrew interest.

we may poss be getting bothroyd.

and apparently something bout a takeover, anyone know anything else about this? and wheres coosy?

For £4 million Nolan has been an excellent purchase….not just for his goals but his captaincy and influence in creating a great team spirit after relegation and now in our first season back. I also suspect Nolan has played a key role in helping Carroll develop as a player and person through his role as mentor and friend. Nolan is a fine ambassador for the club.

He seems like a good lad nolan! A decent fella.

Change of subject. I think carroll will b fit for the derby but nothin will b said until the team sheet is announced. I have a mate who is a season ticket holder at west ham and he recons AP used to do stuff like this all the time. Play a bit of mind games not mentioning players being fit again so its a bit of surprise wen there on the team sheet.

Mike williamson’s retrospective three match ban was a disgrace as is now Chiek Tiote’s ..Williamsons would only have been a booking for obstruction if the ref had seen it .

And Tiotie’s was a big mistake by the ref as he never touched the other player involved ..his opponent in the challenge stated that he had never touched him .

The ref told Alan Pardew that he had made a mistake. So how come Tiotie has now got a 3 match ban ,,he never touched the playert.
There was no intention to harm the player or gain an advantage by foul means.

Tiote slid into thin air ! the player arrived a split second later .Tiote was there first and cleanly won the ball

I am a customer of FA football and feel like I am bieng cheated out of my money with decisions like this .

I am going to walk away from football as think the FA are Corrupt

Please inform me as a customer who the members of the disciplinary panel are that sits in on decisions on Newcastle United both for the Mike Williamso’n verdict and the Chiek Tiotie Verdict.

I ask this as I think the FA should be open and transparent on this issue , If your not then you are corrupt to the core.

I will also publish your answer or your Non Answer to the above questions

Pardew has confirmed in his press conference that Carroll is out, Ameobi is fit and ready for Sunday, Gosling will take a place on the bench and Kia Joorabchin has no involvement in our transfer dealings…

Barton’s playing great now, but he’ll be 30 when his contract expires. Don’t know if it’s wise to keep paying someone 60k a week when their best days will be behind them, especially a midfielder.

Everyone knows the FA are the biggest waste of space on the planet, but at the time I did think what on earth is Tiote doing !!! If another team’s player had done that to one of ours, even if he hadn’t made contact, I would have thought what was going on there like.

If Kia Joorabchin has no involvement in our transfer dealings, why is he here?

does anyone know if the game on sunday is live on any of the usual suspects (sky or espn)? the bbc preview of the game said it’s on ss2 but I cant see that anywherer on the sky website/ssn.

Also, what do you reckon the teams going to be for sunday considering andy and tiote are out?

Thats my guess. Either that or drop one of the strikers for either gutherie or gosling. Also, swap S.Talyor for Williamson if the former is injured still.

If Carroll’s out why announce it.

Better to leave the scum guessing.

Pardew loves talking to the press too much.
We’ve lost a (small) tactical advantage now.
They can plan their defence differently.
