Pardew May Wait Until Last Minute On Andy Carroll

Alan Pardew is likely to keep his cards  very close to his chest before announcing whether Shola Ameobi and Andy Carroll will be fit and ready to play against Sunderland on Sunday.

Andy Carroll – for for Sunday?? – exactly

We think that’s especially true of Carroll, and whether he plays or not we are unlikely to know before the teams are announced around 11:30 am on Sunday.

That would be  good thinking by Alan Pardew, who could keep the Sunderland manager in the dark about whether Andy will start.

And we have to think if Shola and Andy both play, they will cause some havoc with the Sunderland central defense, which will not be at their strongest on Sunday – good.

Anyway – we hope they will cause some havoc with the Sunderland central defense.

Apart from local lads Andy and Shola, Alan will also have Peter Lovenkrands, Leon Best and Nile Ranger as possible options up front, but Alan has let everybody know this week that Carroll and Ameobi are currently his two top strikers, and they will start if they are fit, that’s for sure.

We also expect Jonas Gutierrez and Jose Enrique will both be back down the left hand side, and both players were missed at Stevenage, especially Jose, whose fight and spirit could  have made a difference on Saturday.

And it seems that Steven Taylor is still in with at least a chance to play on Sunday, despite his hamstring injury, but again we think Alan may keep quiet about whether Steven is expected to start in that game.

Given that Alan was less than pleased that Jose Enrique leaked the fact he was not playing recently via his twitter account, it’s very possible Alan will keep his team selection secret until it’s announced around 30 minutes before kick off at noon on Sunday.

That will keep the enemy guessing, and that’s got to be good.

Comments welcome.

    Harper
    Simpson, Collo, Willo, Enrique
    Jonas, Barton, Nolan, Lovenkrands
    Shola, Carroll/Best

Jonas is right footed and Lovenkrands is left footed and can play on the wing – why not put him there? Yes he prefers playing through the centre but so does Barton and he gets played RM.

Saw Harper in the RVI yesterday morning with a heavily pregnant Mrs. Harper. Obviously wasn’t training, so will this have repercussions for Sunday? Was excused boots last week, but baby obviously didn’t arrive. Heard from my nephew this morning, who is a football agent, that grapevine is alive with talk that Bothroyd is coming to Ncle because Ashley told Pardew on Wednesday that he is accepting £25m from Spurs for Carroll.

Im glad – RSC is a sulk & injury prone.

    @ 6

We dont want a journeyman like Keane – he turned us down before.

    @ 4

To be fair, how many clubs have brought players in out of the ‘plent available’?

AND re “can’t we sign anyone decent” ERM HELLO – HBA!

    Every player has their price

BUT – I would only take it if he was replaced by atleast 2 quality players (2 strikers @ £15M a piece)

If it was £30M into the fat man’s back pocket less a couple of quid for Bothroyd – forget it!

Thump – no need to be personal, just passing on what I,ve been told from someone in the game. I was the first on these pages to tell you that Larsson wasn’t coming and received similar abuse. If you trust the FCB, that’s your problem.

You’re a fool. The man is only interested in trousering as much brass as he can, so that he can sell club for as small a prce as possible. Ask anyone you like in the game or the media. I never said I was in the know, I’m passing on what I’ve been told by someone who is in the game. But you bury your head in the sand.

Bit of a baptism of fire for Ferguson there mate!

    I would go with:

    Harper
    Simmo * Saylor * Collo * Bull
    Rout * Bartoon * Nolan * Jonas
Best * Carroll (McLoven if Carroll Out)

    Subs:
Krul, Willo, Ferguson, Gosling, Guthrie, Strolla, McLoven (Xisco if Carroll Out)

Surely if he wanted to pocket as much money as he could, he would want to sell the club for big money!?!

he would get more for the club with carroll than without by far because of his potential he would make way more money keeping him …. even most people in the game havent got a clue jimmy magpie not having ago at you because you are only passing on what youve heard but a lot of agents get it wrong from time to time

    Exactly

Carroll staying at the club increases revenue on shirt sales, ticket sales, etc. Not to mention raising the profile of the club.

Carroll leaving the club will only net him the transfer fee.

The only way Ashley sells Carroll is if he has buyers in place and for some strange reason they do not want Carroll leading the line. Ashley then wears the black hat as the bad guy and sells Carroll. The new owners come and invest in who they want on the squad and look like heroes to us (the fans). It builds good will for the new owners immediately and Ashley gets to poke the Toon Army in the eye as he exits NUFC.

yes its me again. (Boy am I am glad you and I don’t live next door to each other)…LOL

So FCB is accepting 25mil for AC then is he? In the process, he throws away the only chance we have of staying in the premier league…….. Now I know that Ashley is a moron, but even I dont think he would want to try and pull that one. Unless someone far more efficient than carroll is coming in, and that rules out anyone who has been mentioned so far. Certainly not Bothroyd. Ashley will get agoraphobia at the next home game because he will have an empty stadium. You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cant fool all fthe people all of the time. Ashley is not that daft.

Hi Lynxie. Remember if we go down , he still pockets the TV money for this season plus parachute payments plus next sponsorship instalments plus Carroll money. I honestly believe that he is evil enough to do it, for all the abuse he taken from us Geordies. Remember, he’s only trying to break even, and get out. God, I hope I’m wrong obviously, I love my club, but I don’t trust this guy one bit. He hasn’t done anything to earn my trust.
