Pardew Aiming For 12 Points In 6 League Games

We are learning more about Alan Pardew as a manager as the weeks roll by, and certainly, at least according to Newcastle goalkeeper Steve Harper, Alan seems to be an excellent coach.

Steve Harper – impressed with Pardew as a coach

We know that Alan has worked with the Newcastle players all week on the game plan that will hopefully bring Newcastle as second win tomorrow against the old enemy.

A good omen is that Steve Harper has not even been on the losing side in his four outings against Sunderland, and a win will give Pardew a tremendous 12 points in his first 6 league games in charge of the Newcastle side.

Steve, who has looked as safe as houses in the Newcastle goal since he returned to the first team,  told the Evening Chronicle today:

“We have had three wins in the league under the new manager, it has been good.”

“He has been quite impressive – he has gone round the lads and some of the things he has done on the training ground have been impressive.”

“We have had some new sessions I have not seen before in my 300 years here!” “There have been very specific training sessions.”

“He has made a lot of good points and there are things we have started working on, and already we have started to see the rewards.”

“Hopefully, that will continue at Sunderland.”

Of course it’s an exaggeration when Steve says he’s been at the Newcastle club for 300 years – by our reckoning it’s only a little over 200.

Another win is what we all want to see for Newcastle tomorrow – and then we can do some real celebrating – for the next full week.

And we can also start talking about hammering Spurs next Saturday, and all that good stuff. 😀

After all it’s a about time the London team were given a decent hammering isn’t it?

They are winning far too many games this season.

Comments welcome.

Win tomorrow and we are well on our way towards survival. If we can win games quite soon then we can start to have loftier ambitions but in the meantime i agree with Brutooon. 40 points to stay up and we’ll all be happy

the 12 points from 6 games is his first 6 games in charge! Not the next 6 games. He has 3 wins in 5 and is looking for 4 from 6 tomorrow!!

Toonmania, what I meant is that we should go into every game aiming to win and not for 3 wins and 3 draws or 4 wins and 2 losses.

    Loved this from NUFC.com:

“The NUFC-arranged bus convoy leaves SJP at 10am and as has been the case in previous seasons, away fans will be kept in the stadium after full time until the locals disperse back to their mud huts”.

ppl need to give pardew a chance ffs. from a fixture list of man city, spurs, liverpool, wigan, west ham and sunderland 12pts is good realistic targets. easily 5 losses in that pack going off wigan being a bogey team 4 us

look at steveage they went into the game with a plan to win 5-0 and they won 3-1

What have nufc ever done to SSN? It is quite evident they have it against the toon, especially le tissier and Merson, they said that tiote will leave to a top six team to get a better wage, so according to him no team outside the top six can’t improve! He said that we are in crisis because we got beat away at Stevenage and Sunderland are on fire! Why? For loosing at home in the fa cup? Howay lads prove them wrong tomorrow, I am content with a draw but wouldn’t mind a win!

Will FATASH stand in the way (sorry cash in) of the likes of Tiote and Carrol??

I hate to say it but it seems that he is only interested in taking cash out of NUFC and not putting any in – thats the job of the 51,000

With all the money from the CL the top0 4 will always have a monetary advantage – dont really think the players go JUST for a chance of playing in the CL do you?. So unless we have an owner with money and the willingness to buy into the top 4/6 then we are always going to be a feeder club.

Whilst SJH and FFS spent a ton of money on players and wages – we were top 4 and the money generated – if spent wisely, would of ensured that we stayed there. The likes of Viana, Luque, Basong, Owen and Marcelano all cost the club big time with no return.

Until there is a cap on players wages there is no way we will be able to compete – let alone keep our better players

    Off for a few pints

If we beat the unwashed tomorrow then we will be within a couple of points and with a game in hand. With a very real chance of pushing into 6th. Merson is a prize prick and I don’t think i have ever agreed with a word he has said, even about other clubs. Nobba

Paul Merson hasn’t a clue what he’s on about half the time so I wouldn’t be wasting my energy seeking his approval. Whether or not SSN has a vendetta against our club or not is completely irrelevant what we need to be focusing on is keeping our best players to stay in this league. Ashley won’t cash in on our best players for fear that we will be relegated again and he’ll never be able to sell the club so guys let’s be realistic here.

Barton can come out and say he is better now than when we signed him and use that to justify his wage demands but he can also play like crap and is a discipline risk. That and according to the contact he signed it was to play for four years. Well with about two years spent injured or in jail maybe a little of the good will should be flowing back towards the club. It sounds like Joey thinks he should be the highest paid midfielder in the country

Nice one BlacknWhite Barmy, Ashley is only interested in taking his cash back out the club. He doesn’t want it anymore. He thought he’d make a quick profit on a quick buy and sell and it all went wrong and he’s been chasing his cash back ever since. He is destroying our club, which to him is just a brand, and when he is bored he will throw it away like one of the many successful brands he buys at sports direct then ruins. Remember Slazenger, Diadora, Blacks, Donnay…all well respected ‘brands’, until they were cheapened…ring any bells???!!!

    Next 6 games – woouuu…

    Sunderland vs Newcastle
    Newcastle vs Tottenham
    Fulham vs Newcastle
    Newcastle vs Arsenal
    Blackburn vs Newcastle
    Birmingham vs Newcastle

    1. Hopefully, we will get 8 to 12 points out of these games. meaning – 2 wins and 2 draws, or 4 wins (wow hh… i wish, or 3 wins and 3 draws – which is possible I think).

    2.
    Sunderland vs Newcastle
    Fulham vs Newcastle
    Blackburn vs Newcastle
    Birmingham vs Newcastle
We can win all these games (on paper of course).

    3.
    Newcastle vs Tottenham
    Newcastle vs Arsenal
    These two are difficuts, very.
Maybe we can get a draw from each? steal a win? Who knows.

in the end of course it will look something more like this.

    1. Birmingham vs Newcastle – painful loss after leading for 75 minutes.

    2. Fulham vs Newcastle – Drawing 1-1 after a disappointing performance

    3.
    Blackburn vs Newcastle
    Sunderland vs Newcastle
    Will win one of these.

    4. Steal a win in one the difficult games, and everybody will say – why we can win against the good teams but fail to do that against teams like Wigan.

in total – 7 points. This is the realistic view.
Hopefully my imagination is right this time and reality will stay at home this time.

Ole stevey harpsis a class act lads. He is the definition of loyalty. He sat behind shey given all those years and never left and i gotta tell ya he has really earned his wages the last 2 years since shey bailed out on a sinking ship. But look where shey is and look where stevey is. Justice has a strange way of working itself out on its own sometimes. Given is becoming a 1st rate benchwarmer and harps is becoming a grade a brickwall in front of the onion bag. I personaly would not trade harps for given now. The few games i saw given play this season in the europa league he looked shite. That match they played in denmark i think it was, he was getting smoked from 30 yards out by championship class players if not league 1 caliber players. He has been very unimpressive. Joe hart is a stud its no shame to be beat out by him but if given came back now i think he would be hard pressed to move harps outta goal…..
