Routledge Signs For QPR – So Who’s Coming In?

The news is coming through that QPR have officially completed the loan deal for Newcastle’s Wayne Routledge, until the end of the season.

Wayne Routledge – off to QPR

But we have to wonder if Wayne has played his last game for the Newcastle club.

A lot will depend on whether QPR get promoted to the Premier League, because if they do, and Wayne does well through the end of the season, they will probably want to sign the Londoner.

If Newcastle are willing to let this lad leave at this time, you have to think they already have somebody lined up to bring in, wouldn’t you?

It could be Sebastian Larsson – if he’s finally come to his senses and wants to join the great Newcastle club, for a reasonable wage, and not an exorbitant one.

That’s what we’ll be hoping, however unrealistic that may be – because Seb’s still  a good player and can certainly cross a ball.

Or maybe it’s Shaun Wright-Phillips of Manchester City, or maybe even Adam Johnson – and bringing Adam in would be really good – although it would only be on loan.

Maybe Newcastle loaned out Wayne, so they could afford to pay the huge wages of a Manchester City player – since the deal with Wayne at QPR is that they’ll pay his wages of £21K/week, according to reports.

That seems a really high wage for Wayne, if the reports are accurate.

Or maybe it’s Leeds United’s Max Gradel.

Or maybe it’s   …………..

Ad infinitum.

What do you think?

hope he does well. i think he is a very gifted footballer and needs playing time, which pardew seems unwilling to give him!

Apparantly were after a proven prem player by the name of Ryan Taylor…i reckon Pardew is going to use him as back up to Joey on the wing?

It doesnt make sense for him to say he wants pace on the wings like he did after the spurs game then sell our fastest winger!

He surely must have a player not only lined up but set to sign, if not why not?

If we have no money, or need to get rid of some wages id rather he came out and said it instead of leading us on a dance like its been like since the window opened.

Taarabt or Kranjcar would b nice

Hopefully not more CMs. Don’t get me wrong, I’m ecstatic with the job Joey has been doing there but he is obviously more comfortable in a central position.

It might be the fact that HBA should be playing next month? He is due to take up full training in 2 weeks time, so he should be up to speed 3 or 4 weeks after that, depending on reactions.

Leave Barton where he is. I wounder how many assists he has this season. It’s all well and good wingers having pace, but if they can’t cross the ball what’s the point.

Pretty shocked at this, it came about very quickly. From the way Pardew has been speaking about tranfer targets as well it’s not too hopeful atm…

On the flip side of the coin if we do get a winger of better quality this is a great move, Krancjar would be my pick. SWP is a good player but getting him on loan when he’s not getting any younger, hence not a permanent replacement is not so great.

Nicest footballer I’ve ever met actually, Wayne Routledge. Very courteous.

Funnily enough, so does Carroll. Jonas has 4 in all competitions.

I think Wayne is a cracking lad and always gives 100% but it all comes down to his final ball, in other words he hasn,t got one.

A good idea to loan him out as QPR have a great manager and hopefully he can give the player back with improvements added next season bearing in mind that Wayne is only 26.

However Pardew would be MAD not to have a ready made replacement!

    I suppose watch this space.

ive heard the deal has an option to buy at the end of the loan so thats why am convinced its part of taarabt deal, swp getting on now dont really go with ashlys policy of buying young talented players

“Mike obviously understands the game better than he has ever done and we want to buy good young players that can take the club forward.”

Said by Pardew today – so you lot who keep banging on about 28 year old strangely-named players who are “awesome on this youtube video” can forget it.

    Gradel – yes.

Think young, Championship players with bags of raw talent – that’s the way forward.
Look at the likes of Bale for one.

Taarabt coming in is the only thing that makes any logical sense…. We have loaned routledge to QPR as a sweetner, I really hope I’m right as taarabt is absolutely class!!! Go on any QPR blog and they are all shitting themselves that taarabt is on his way out!!

Taarabt couldn’t get into the spurs team afew years ago. Arry said he never knew what he was gonna do his team mates had no idea what he was gonna do.Yes he’s exciting but there is very little end product.

why would we sell one player who can’t cut it at prem level to then take a gamble on another? Taraabt hardly set the world alight at spurs, I think he’d be awesome in prem but still don’t understand reasoning as pards said he wanted more pace in final third and then has loaned out the quickest player on the books. And he recently said that we needed more squad depth so why loan out one of our squad players unless he has a few targets lined up? This doesn’t make sense at all. If we don’t get someone in b4 spuds game we can conclude that pards is indeed misinforming the fans. We mow have even less depth than b4. There must have been a few prem clubs who he could of got playing time with which must mean it’s a favour in return for taraabt.

honestly doesnt really matter if there is no replacement brought in for him the wages off the books is fine maybe the replacemnt was Carver ahah.. seriously though he is a fringe player who did a nice job last year but will only be a reserve in the Prem.. like mentioned by others with gosling return and ben arfa in due time and even Taylor this will make no impact on the team a good bit of business by the club i believe

If Vladamir Weis becomes available at the end of the season for a reasonable amount he might be worth another look. I know he picked Rangers over us but maybe he fealt there would be more oppertunity to play in the first team. Can’t see him being needed back at City.

Not seen alot of him this season but he scored a couple last weekend seems to have potential.

And as for swapping routledge for larsson that’s garbage. Why lose a player who clearly wants to play for us and is on low wages to get another mercenary who only cares about lining his pocket. And doesn’t solve the problem of pace!!

do people really think Rayls is better than Routledge? What a joke! The slowest player in the league! Given he can score some great free-kicks, do you guys remember how many free-kicks we’ve had in threatening, close-enough positions to score from? I can think of one in the past few games, which would totally nullify his usefulness.

SWP over rated, inconsistent and too old for mike Ashley as there will be no sell on value, krancjaer too expensive and no sell on value, Larsson not ad quick as people think he is, not that much of a dead ball specialist, haven’t seen anything that stands out and after last weeks goings on he is a greedy tw@t so don’t want him, Taarabt young, skillfull, very clever, reads the game well and has more or less single handedly carried QPR to the top of the championship, I’d take him over any other player we have been linked with

Mac, Taarabt is still only what 21!? He isn’t fully developed yet, but would be an outstanding signing. And for those who says he is an egoistic player, I’m not so sure. Based on the stuff I’ve seen he’s on the way to becoming a better team player.

Brklyngeordie-routledge was a good squad player. He was on low enough wages to keep.even as an impact sub off the bench. Pards has moaned about squad depth. And pace. all the players u mentioned aren’t gonna add pace to our squad. The two taylors are hardly fast. And who knows how Ben arfa will return after his injury. Massive gamble if we don’t have at least two players lined up to replace him.

If Taarabt was coming tt would of happened already, announced with the Routledge deal. QPR don`t want anyone too go just replace the 2 players they have injured.

    SWP=Routledge Larsson=shite Raylor=shiter

Surely we have someone lined up hopefully a nice surprise.

I dont think this loan move is good as Routledge is Very Quick and we need quick players. If Alan Pardew has let him go and we don’t get a replacement there will be hell to pay if we get a New Player for the Spurs Game then Awsome !!!!
