Routledge To Join QPR On Loan Through End Of Season

Surprise news coming through that Wayne Routledge looks set to sign for Queens Park Rangers, on loan  until the end of the season.

Wayne Routledge – in action against Chelsea

We had reported this morning that Neil Warnock wanted the winger back in London, but we thought there would be little chance of Newcastle agreeing to the deal.

Surely Newcastle haven’t agreed to this without having some suitable replacement through the end of the season already lined up?

It’s a good deal for QPR and a good deal for Wayne, who at least will now play regularly for QPR,  and could help his former club get promoted.

The winger joined Newcastle only last January,  and while he played well last season regularly,  he has been in and out of the side so far this season.

Routledge has appeared 36 times for the Newcastle club with three goals, all scored last season.

We await the other shoe to fall – and expect Newcastle to bring in a winger soon – very soon hopefully.

Maybe Newcastle have Shaun Wright-Phillips on loan from Manchester City lined up – but we really have no idea who may be coming in – if anybody.

Of course Dan Gosling can play out on the wing and a certain Ben Arfa should be ready to play for the first team in a few more weeks, after recovering form his double leg fracture.

Comments welcome.

I think Colombus could be right.

It may well be a way of sweetening the Taarabt deal.

A few million plus Routledge on loan, perhaps? Could be difficult for QPR to resist, given that it’s only a matter of time before Taarabt moves on anyway.

Thump .. and if anyone scores a goal its like they’ve won the FA cup ..
still you aren’t allowed to wash, that might do your head in .. and you’ve to listen to half time team talks about how newcastle are better and that Titus shambles is the best player in the team.. etc etc .. would drive any person mad ..

My wish is for Taarabt. But if that was the case, I would have thought his name would have been mentioned along with the Routs deal. Pity.

Camoranesi would provide good cover for Tiote, having been an excellent player throughout his career, but at his age he wouldn’t be a first-team regular.

Too negative to replace Routledge though.

    What????????

We have a thin squad as it is. First bring someone. Hope someone is coming.

Are they taking his wages too?
QPR are coming up next season, he will help them with that.

And people here talking about sessignon. hmm… Everybody wants him no? As we know french players, they like other clubs – Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City.
But maybe our new signing will talk to the guy. 🙂

    I’ve watched Taarabt very closely.
He’s petulant, greedy, arrogant, unpredictable, unreliable…… and Brilliant.
Remember Tino, Ginola, Jim Smith etc etc

I hope we don’t flog li’l Wayne at the end of the season, mind. He’s a good little sub when the s hit the f.

@Colombus:Taarabt is a decent player,he can do amazing stuffs with the ball but the only thing he cant pass or cross.
Thats a crucial thing we need here.
Take Routledge as an example,he can run with the ball,YES,but can he cross??
