We had mentioned yesterday that we were a littler dubious of the news when Alan Pardew announced yesterday that Andy Carroll would not make the game against Tottenham on Saturday.
Andy Carroll – out for another three weeks
Andy had even hoped to be fit to face Sunderland last Sunday, so to announce on Wednesday that he wouldn’t make a game on Saturday was certainly not good news.
And it got even worse today when Alan Pardew, speaking on Sky Sports News, said he didn’t think Andy would be ready for the game a week next Wednesday, when Newcastle travel to Fulham.
It seems Andy will be out another three weeks with the troublesome thigh injury, which is not healing nearly as quickly as the Newcastle medics had thought it would.
Andy has already missed the last four games, and he will now miss the next two games for certain – and he will be a big doubt for the game against Arsenal at St. James’ Park on February 5th.
And that’s a pity because the Arsenal soft center in defense, would be perfect for an Andy Carroll aerial assault.
Alan Pardew said today:
“He is probably doubtful for our next game too,””It’s an injury which is not healing very well. “
“It’s nothing new and is the same problem, but it is a kicking muscle so you can’t take a chance on it.”
“We think it’s going to be around two or three weeks from where he is now.”
Spurs have been continually linked with Andy Carroll in this transfer window, as he seems England’s most exiting young player at the moment.
And Alan Pardew took the opportunity to say Andy wasn’t for sale – again – for the 245th time – just in case anybody was listening this time:
“Andy is not for sale, again,”
“Every top club would be interested in Andy Carroll.” “He is a great player, a top striker and has shown his qualities in the first half of the season.”
“It is important that when he comes back from injury that he gets back to that same level.” “But he is not going to Spurs or anywhere else.”
We expect to be reporting that some other big club will again be bidding for Andy – but we’ll need to wait until Sunday before that happens.
And by that time we hope to have taken all 3 points off Tottenham.
Comments welcome.

Bale is left wing and Jose Enrique is left Back. Enrique rarely goes on the right just stays on the left sided path and Bale rarely shifts to the right. Anyways Jose Enrique can beat anybody defending.

True that was me being a dumb ass for a second haha, Simpson vs Bale doesn’t sound so appealing does it??
A draw would be a good result but you never know with us this season we could win 4-0 the way things have been going, not sure who is going to score other than Nolan.

Comment #47Routledge reminds me of the old Lennon – great at running at players, but poor delivery. I think he has bags of potential, just look at how much Lennon has improved in the last two seasons.
Give the guy a chance, help him in training with his final delivery, and I’m sure he could be a great winger. The difference between Lennon and Routledge is Lennon’s final delivery is far superior. Routledge is just as quick, and has some great footwork to beat players.

Comment #51Strength in depth and Ireland was voted Cities player of the season a couple of years ago, fair play they didn’t have the talent back then that they do now but am sure he has plenty to bring to NUFC

Comment #60Yeh dno wat to make of it all but he doesn’t normally write anythin as comprehensive, hopefully he’s right. Not one to hold my hopes tho.
Disappointed we didn’t try for hammill but if Ireland can come in would be good, very creative player.
Need another fullback n a striker but would be happy with jus a fullback tbh this window HBA can play off a front man n expect him to so as long as we can stay solid we’ll be fine. Still think we could do worse than gettin momo sissoko in to compete as a DM cos he’s better than wat we got other than tiote in that pos gosling on right or competing with simmo further back

Are we going to add to the team this window or what? WINGERS are what we need.
