Alan Pardew is still hoping to make the addition of a good winger to the Newcastle ranks, in the remaining nine days of the January transfer window.
Alan Pardew – still working hard to bring new players in
Pardew wants a winger who can put in those crosses to his two top big men in the middle, Andy Carroll and Shola Ameobi
And recent reports in Belgium claiming that Newcastle may be after Anderlecht winger Jonathan Legear, may just be a regurgitated story, since Newcastle were said to be interested in the player last summer.
And as we reported earlier this morning Newcastle may still be in negotiations with Sebastian Larsson at Birmingham, who even put in a transfer request last Thursday.
Pardew, quite rightly, is not saying too much at all about just who Newcastle may be after, but he wanted to reassure Newcastle fans the club are trying to bring in new players.
Pardew told the Evening Chronicle today:
“Between now and the end of the window, anything can change.” “There will be movement every hour and every day between now and then.”
Routledge’s move to back to QPR on loan, which will almost certainly turn into a permanent move if QPR are promoted, has put pressure on Newcastle to bring in a replacement before February 1st.
But shouldn’t the club should have waited until they drafted in a replacement, before agreeing to let Wayne leave?
