Ameobi And Best Two Big Players For Newcastle Today

An important part of Newcastle’s game this afternoon against Spurs, is how our two big front men perform, in the absence of Andy Carroll.

Leon Best – an important player for Newcastle this afternoon

Shola Ameobi and Leon Best will again get the chance to bang in some goals for Newcastle, and how Newcastle perform this afternoon will depend a lot on how these two lads play.

Alan Pardew is imploring the two of them to make a difference in this game, as Newcastle certainly could do with all 3 points today, after last Sunday’s desperate and disappointing (to say the least)  finish to the game at Sunderland:

“Especially with Leon, he has produced in the two Premier League games,” “The challenge is in front of him to produce that level.”

“Shola, as we know, can play for this club. He has shown that over many years.”

“They have the shirts at the moment and if they produce the same work-rate they did at Sunderland, they have every chance of keeping them.”

Pardew admits that Tottenham have an excellent squad, and has rightly complimented the tremendous job Harry Redknapp has done at the London club, in just over two years.

Alan continued:

“They are title challengers, you can’t get away from that.” “They have some outstanding players, as they proved against Manchester United last week.”

“Harry Redknapp can turn round to his bench and see internationals and this week I might have a young player who has never been involved in the first team.”

” I have always been a big admirer of Harry – he does not make mistakes.”  “Harry’s been fortunate that he’s had good finance to strengthen the team.”

“And he very rarely makes mistakes in the transfer market, and that’s why they’ve got so many options.”

“He’s got a good little thing going and a fantastic squad of players who can certainly challenge for the title.”

“It’s frightening.”

“They had good players when Harry went there but he’s done a great job in turning them round. Their confidence was low and he instills that in a team.”

“That’s why he is being linked with England job.”

There’s no doubt that Tottenham are now an excellent side, but Newcastle have already beaten some good sides this season including Arsenal 1-0 at the Emirates and Liverpool 3-1 at St. James’ Park.

And of course we’ve already had three colossal home wins in the League so far, in smashing Aston Villa 6-0, embarrassing Sunderland 5-1 and hammering West Ham 5-0.

And today is another chance for the lads to take another top scalp in Spurs, and we are hoping that’s just exactly what the Newcastle side will do this afternoon.

Howay The Lads!!

To be honest I would prefer Best over Loven, he’s has much more to offer in his overall game play, competent enough to hold his own in the air, smart flick ons and one two moves and great left foot as well lol.

The problem is he might go missing for a certain period of time in games, like against Stevenage and scums (1st half)

Well said Golden!! Best has been out with a bad injury for almost his whole time at the Toon, then he gets thrown in at the deep end and so far has been brilliant. He destroyed the hammers defence and did really well against the scum. Even Carroll doesn’t get a goal every game so we cant expect Best to either. I agree that Shola is lazy but he does have great skill and he does come good in big big games. Lets get behind our boys and not criticise them even before they have gone on the field to fight for US!

Listen to these self righteous prats. We pay our money we call it as we see it. We have fallen from Shearer, Ferdinand and Beardsley to a second rate strike force in Best and Shola, through poor management, lack of planning or whatever.

These people saying get behind our team are the first to have a moan up if Shola is lazy and misses a sitter or if Best goes missing.

Yes we’ll get behind the team, but if people aren’t supposed to judge or have opinions, not just in football, but in life generally, we may as well all pack it in now.

When you hear the idiots shouting out for the heads of Best and Ameobi, all you hear is the shouts of an armchair fan who never attends a game, and knows nothing of ‘off-the-ball’ play. They probably hang on the every word of the 3 idiots who regularly sit on the sofa with Shearer on MOTD.

Good shout G. Some guy on here said I think we’ll lose, so I won’t watch motd tonight! Shows the level of some fans on here. In it for the wins and draws but go missing when we get beat. They should go support the unwashed down the road. Not worthy of being toon supporters!!

Sinner- I’m saying what’s the point in slagging our players off? Do u really think if they read it that it would inspire them? No! Best has been out a while and yet still against west ham he scored 3. He still had to finish every chance even against poor opposition. But yet you still slag him off when all he needs is support and a long run in the team to test if he’s good or not. But i still think fans who write off players without giving them a chance aren’t proper fans! End of. I’m not slagging u off personally. Just pointing out that every player deserves a chance and that all fans should get behind whoever steps out onto the pitch. If he scores another two or three today would u still be so critical?
