Andy Carroll Is Nearly Fit – Steven Taylor Is Not

After the conflicting news this morning it seems that Newcastle star striker, Andy Carroll,  is indeed near full fitness and could play at  Fulham in 9 days time.

Andy Carroll – could be ready for Fulham game

But another local lad, Steven Taylor, has already been ruled out of  that game with his hamstring injury.

Alan Pardew seems confident about Andy, so much so that Andy is in the squad currently in Portugal getting some decent training on some good pitches.

Newcastle have not been able to  rain at Benton because the pitches are just too frozen, but news today that owner Mike Ashley has said he;s going to fix that problem, which is good news.

When asked about Andy Carroll’s fitness, Pardew told the Evening Chronicle:

“Andy Carroll will be the closest.” “We’ll take him on the training camp to Portugal, and hopefully, he’ll be in with a chance for Fulham.”

There was news late last week that Steven could be out another five weeks with the injury,  but it seems it’s not as bad as that, as Alan Pardew said today:

“No chance on Steven Taylor for Fulham, and Tiote’s still suspended.”

“Taylor may be ready for Arsenal, when I think Andy will play.” “It’s just a case of whether Andy makes Fulham.”

And of course the Fulham game will be the third and last game missed by Cheick Tiote, and he should be back to face Arsenal, at St. James’ Park a week on Saturday – 5th February – with a  3:00 pm kick off.

What a tremendous  game that promises to be, and of course Arsenal are hardly strong in the air in central defense.

Comments welcome.

Charlie Adam has handed in a trafer request at Blackpool according to SSN.

Think that he would be a brilliant aquisition for the T00n. I recon better than Ireland and Adams would have lower wage demands and a smaller ego if we are to believe what has been written about Ireland.

Need him back, our lack of goals and the inability to kill off games is costing us.

tiote and carroll will be unbelievable against arsenal, i cant wait as one of my best mates supports arsenal and i watched the last game with him and i doubt they will be able to cope with us when we will have those two rested nicely and probably well up for it.

We’d need to keep the ball better a a side to bring Adam in because he isn’t one for charging about when possession is lost.
Different style of play. I think we’d need 10 new players to play with him if we brought him in.

Funny how this time Dogleash hasn’t resorted to making Liverpool a retirement home for ex-players of the scouse stronghold, as he did at SJP. But he could still sign his lad Paul…?

Pretty sure Charlie Adam has handed in the request to push a move to Liverpool. Not for me anyway. Good player, but not right for our midfield, which, by the way, is amply supplied at the moment (when injury/suspension free).

Wenger ain’t stupid. He’ll have learned from the mistakes made at The Emirates and will be watching the far post when those free kicks/corners come in. I think we’ll have a proper fight on our hands in the Arsenal match.

    Looking forward to it.

he can score a stunner once in a while but his finishing when 1 or 1 or simple tap in is dreadful..but certainly better than ameobi etc

Reading where we are still interested in Larsson and the reason we did`nt sign him was because Villa suddenly pulled out of negotiations.
Not as if he would be any great loss, not that keen on him having watched him play the last coupla weeks in a row.
Now was impressed by Kranjcar`s cameo appearence for Spurs on Sat. think he would be a much better buy, perhaps not financially but a much better player IMO.
Then there are the Ireland rumors ?
Ireland IMO has more potential than either Larsson or Kranjcar, if handled right and comfortable in the side, could be a brilliant player.
Unfortunately would`nt be cheap, but then you get what you pay for in general.
Just dont see Ashley springing for either Kranjcar or Ireland, soh! if you are willing to settle for a cheap mediocrity as compared to quality, then go for Larsson and be the mid table club that players of his ilk reflect.

Yeah Prze he was on the list i menthioned a few days back in the 6 months left, we can technically talk to his agent to try to sign him for the summer on a FREE but obviouslly Pardew is busy complaining about the window or Ranger or doing more interviews to acturally look at them, AC Milan signed Urby who had 6 Months left too.

Think SBR was interested in Taiwo, at least one of the many managers we have had, hey could be a quiz question.
“Name the NUFC managers since KK`s first stint to the present, in sequence that is”
Is he a LB or RB ?,Taiwo.
