We had an article out yesterday on Hatem Ben Arfa, and he was quoted as saying the doctors had told him not to rush back from his double fracture of the left leg.
Ben Arfa – with Tiote after scoring at Everton – what a goal!
Now there is news almost to the contrary, that the player is already in fine fettle and things have gone extremely well, and this is news coming from his agent, Simon Stainrod.
The 23 year-old French international has been out injured with a double fracture of his leg since early October when a Nigel De Jong tackle was the cause of the terrible injury.
Since that time Newcastle have made Ben Arfa’s move to Tyneside permanent, by signing the Frenchman to a four and a half year deal earlier this month.
Simon Stainrod has said the Frenchman has been doing very well, as he told the Daily Star:
“I saw him last week and Hatem is absolutely flying,”
“He’s been away to Dubai for a bit of warm weather training and now he’s back in France and training really, really hard.”
“There are no miracles with an injury like his and he knows it is hard work that he needs to do, but he’s as fit as a fiddle.”
“He’s really got the bit between his teeth and is making good progress.”
“Mid-February might be a bit optimistic but the way he is going about his business at the moment, it’s not unrealistic or out of the question,”
It doesn’t seem to us that this is any new news really, since he had been expected to return to training in Newcastle early next month.
But his agent is saying that things have gone really well, and that Ben Arfa is probably already very fit, and maybe he can surprise us all by playing earlier than expected.
But no risks should be taken with the player, as we have already seen what happens when a player plays too many game too early, when returning from a serious injury.
Dan Gosling’s previously injured knee swelled up, so it’s always wise to be cautious, when a player has been out for some time.
But this is obviously good news for Newcastle fans.
