If nothing is announced within the next 15 minutes or so, then Newcastle will be the laughing stock of football again.
Mike Ashley – told Andy he had to go?
They have sold their top striker, Andy Carroll and left themselves only 7 hours in the transfer window to bring in a replacement – which it looks like they have failed to do.
So where do we stand now?
Without Andy Carroll for the rest of the season, and with nobody bought in to replace him.
Normally in businesses, like at IBM for instance, this level of incompetence would see heads roll.
But since the incompetence seems to be coming from the person who actually owns the club, we suppose the Newcastle owner will not sack himself.
Although that decision would be no more stupid than some of the decisions he has made at the Tyneside club these last three and a half years, which have been hell on earth to loyal Newcastle fans.
And my son Neil has just been on the phone absolutely furious with the goings on – which of course he has just been reading about – and he says he saw something that Alan Pardew may even resign.
We haven’t seen anything like that – but we feel that Mike Ashley has let his manager down big time – and maybe Alan should have heeded the advice of his friends, who implored him not to take on the Newcastle job.
And there is news supposedly coming through from Andy Carroll, that he was forced to move and told he had no choice – but that is unconfirmed right now, although we may hear more of this tomorrow.
The Sunderland Echo are now confirming this story that Andy was pushed out of the door by Mike Ashley.
I don’t think we’ve heard the end of this story by a long way, because as we said in earlier article – we really don’t know exactly what happened today.
To us it seemed that Andy asking for a transfer was all too convenient in letting the owner completely off the hook.
And the announcements about Andy’s move being official says that Newcastle accepted his transfer request, but then conveniently never mention that a fee had to first be agreed between the two clubs.
It just all seems rather fishy to us – that’s all – and all we want is the truth.
We all need to get to the bottom of what exactly happened today, that led to Andy Carroll being a Liverpool striker.
Comments welcome.

Comment #81good signing for liverpool…to bad they still have the same problems as they did when they had torres, they havn’t got any decent players to suply thier strikers, i think they will be sucked in to the same game plan we were with andy, hoof it long and hope for the best, carrol signing also takes alot of presure off suarez..still hope he flops like forlan..

Comment #82We have to make a strong protest now, not turn up to matches if that’s what we have to do. Mike Ashley doesn’t care at all about our club.

Comment #87I’m still stunned by this. It seems the team is built around the big, strong, fast striker, and now that part of the equation is gone.
People say loyalty is to the club, not a player. But that means, to me, that I am following and a fan of management, not a team. Who do I wave a pennant for, the guy carrying the water bottles for 20 years. the guy that tapes ankles for a career, the ticket office manager? To me, there has to be a core of quality players that one can relate to, not the owner. AC represented hope and consistency, in some way money drove him or lured him out. Who will come through the ranks and stay around, or is NUFC just to be a development squad for the rest of the football world? I guess there will be no effort to hold talent unless the stadium is empty, and even then, the TV money can generate a profit. Maybe thats the way TV wants it, they will decide on which teams are the winners and which teams are the sacrificers for the ratings.

Comment #101Really cannot beleave Carroll is in a Liverpool shirt, I just could never see this day happening, its going to kill me seeing him scoring goals for liverpool and not us. I really cant beleave he would leave us to join a mediocre liverpool side who only a month ago where looking like a religated side, it just does not seem right!! we where building a team around caroll and now were left with poor strikers who cannot score goals, its as simple as that! cannot express my anger enough at fat pie faced ashley!!! fat fucker has destroyed newcastles hopes of once again becoming a competitive side ffs!

Comment #104The problem here Ashley lovers is that we do not believe that Andy Carroll put in a transfer request at his own behest.
If you believe anything that club tells you, then you are in a bad way, and haven’t been paying attention for the past few years.
The players like Tiote and Ben Arfa were got on the cheap, and I like both players but we also have Dan Gosling who has never been fit and cost nothing. Then we have Ireland (loan) who seems to have mental problems.
Is this what you want for Newcastle, always scraping around looking for cheap deals and selling your best players who would be the future of the club.
DO YOU HAVE ANY AMBITION?

Comment #106F*ck ’em! Give Harps the number 9 and retire it with him, when he decides. If Andy Carroll doesn’t cherish it nobody will. The noble footballer has long been dying off, Harps is one of the last men standing.
IF we stay up, I demand a £50m spree in the summer, beginning with Chamberlain and world-class striker.
To all the people saying Andy was forced. He signs on the dotted line. He could have easily said ‘No chance’ and if he got into a spat with the owner he’d have had the whole city on his side. Bottom line – AC is a ars£hole!!!!

Comment #114It would not have mattered who was in charge. £35Mil was far too much to say no to.
Andy may have been told to go, he may not, he did not have to leave, he had a contract, he did not have to agree Liverpoo’s contract. Pushed or not Andy made his decision, no-one else.
£20 Mil would have been over the odds for someone who has played in the EPL for all of six months! Good business selling him in my eyes.
Im no fan of Ashley, but anyone can see that only a fool would say no to silly money waved in your face!
