Newcastle In Mad Scramble For Striker As Carroll Dumps Toon

While we don”t really appreciate the way Sky Sports are  going giddy about the proposed transfer news of Carroll to Liverpool and Torres to Chelsea – we have to admit the news today has been astonishing.

Mike Ashley – seems he turned down both offers for Carroll

Who would have ever thought that Andy Carroll would ask for a transfer away from the club he professed to love so much, but if the news is to be believed, that is exactly what has happened today.

And it came after Mike Ashley turned down the second bid of £35M from Liverpool – and as reported earlier – he did not accept that bid for Carroll, as Sky Sports had initially reported.

But then Andy turned everything upside down by requesting a transfer away from Newcastle.

And as we’ve said many times in the past, if a player does not want to play for Newcastle United – then so be it – even if it’s Andy Carroll.

If the news is true, then Andy Carroll has left a black mark on his time at Newcastle, since he has basically left the club, some may say deserted the club, since he only allowed Newcastle 5 hours to get in a replacement.

So we have to feel rather sorry for manager Alan Pardew, whose probably burning up the telephone lines right now, after one of his favorite players has left him seemingly in the lurch.

We hope Alan can bring in somebody good – and it could be on loan, although whether he can get a decent striker in before 11:00 pm local time tonight,  is a good question.

We have to hope he does, and we’re still not sure if the Stephen Ireland deal has gone through at the club.

And we also see that Manchester City have launched a last minute bid to take Seb Larsson on loan to Eastlands.

Oh my – this has not been a good day for Newcastle United, that’s for sure – and now we’ll just have to wallop Fulham on Wednesday evening.

And knowing the lads we have on Tyneside right now – that could well happen – and of course we need a win.

Even more so after what has happened today – and of course it’s far from over.

And  trying hard to look on the bright side, we will have some big money to spend in the summer – so that’s good. 😀

Carroll said earlier he want to stay but 4 hrs after that he put transfer request ? It’s weird. I think Ashley will do something to make Carroll no choice but request transfer.

Who can be his replacement ? check the line up : Crouch, Heskey and Carton Cole. They’re all fuXX !! and what the reaction from dressing room ? I can’t imagine now.

Guys, don’t blame Carroll for this. This transfer is down to Mike Ashley. He told Liverpool if they offered over £35 m he would accept. Carroll has been offered 90k a week, NUFC forced him to hand in the transfer request.

I am told we are looking at Elmander. I think he would be a good signing at short notice.

Hmm.. we’re doing right with out Carrol atm..
And remember, Ben Arfa is an attacking footballer, he’s back next month, can’t see us getting anyone tonight.. but think we should stick it out for the rest of the season, and spend some of that money in the summer

1st post, although read this blog religiously. Have to say gutted at this, however dont jump all over AC here, the the fat man himself had a lot to do with this.

Not a fan of selling him although 35mil is not to be scoffed at. Hopefully we can use a good chunk of this to rebuild.

No chance of getting a striker in in five hours. No one’s coming.

Thing is, I’m gutted that Carroll has asked to leave, but seriously – £80k per week?! I know we talk about these huge figures all the time, but imagine being offered £80,000 each and every week for the next 3-5 years. He could break his left leg clean off and he’ll still be a very, very rich man for the rest of his life.

Still, if he’s leaving, he’s gone. Our concern is Newcastle, so we just need to concentrate on the rest of the season and staying up.

Well at least Fat Mike stood firm… That’s worth a little – ad that to the 35 ++ we’re getting from Andy, I guess it’s not a bad deal. But WE NEED SOMEONE IN!!!

Need a big replacement, and fast. I would take Wickham, no doubt about it, or that Chamberlain from Southampton, Pavs from Spurs.

There isn’t much on short term deals Lavezzi from Napoli but he wont come as wages, and bigger clubs

How about Peter Crouch for 3.5. That would give us plenty to spend in the summer. He is not wanted where he currently is and we know he can score if the delivery is there which it would be…

All Carrol was good at was being tall and being born in the right place.

The Being born thing we can’t replace but the tall part we can…

Heard Benzema and/or Crouch are the strikers in consideration to replace.
Carroll is no Geordie, he’s treat us like scum, bailing out in the last 5 hours. Rediculous! Gotta pray for an instant replacement thats got class.
