Stephen Ireland Agrees Terms – Deal Imminent?

The news coming through seems to suggest the loan deal of Stephen Ireland to Newcastle has moved along very nicely in the last 24 hours.

Stephen Ireland – has now agreed terms with Newcastle

And Sky Sports now understands that the player himself  has agreed terms for a loan move to Newcastle from Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old was at Newcastle yesterday, and underwent a medical, which we have to assume went well, and today has agreed terms with Newcastle, and this means the official announcement of the deal by Newcastle, could come very soon.

Ireland has been keen to move on from his double nightmare at Manchester City and now at Aston Villa, and get regular first team football.

If  Stephen shows the form he is capable of,  he will certainly get first team football at the Newcastle club.

And Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has been trying to bring in new players in January, but it could well be that Stephen will be the only new arrival.

That’s apart from Frenchman Ben Arfa, who signed on permanently at Newcastle earlier in the month.

If he’s in I’ll support him, ofcourse.
Here’s to hoping he can get back into form and enjoy the stay.

Oh and yes to Sturridge, seems to have quite an end product 😉

Ireland is a really good midfield player.

Our squad is deeper and improved by his transfer/loan.

Hope he settles and hits form asap.

Enrique won’t b going as we’ve not got cover, more worried he’ll b leaving in the summer when man utd generally splash the cash as that’s where I think he will go, hopefully will win a Spain cap soon as he may be worried playing for the toon is hindering his international career, let’s not forget Ireland is only on loan and it needs a few players to disrupt the harmony of a club if he’s a tool they simply won’t sign him if he turns out to be a class act great, it’s really a no lose situation for us at this point except in wages

Sephiro yes me too, the word i got was that it was sturridge but coozy said there was three rooms booked, ireland and his agent and another player, surely this other player must have the same agent as ireland. if we could find out who the agent is and rattle through his clients im sure we will find who it is

Hey guys, lets see if Craigcoozy comes up with a name before it is announced, he’s expecting to find out today who’s coming our way. Hope we have found a decent right winger or a decent strike partner for Carroll. Wish these so-called bigger clubs would just accept the fact that Carroll is staying put. Put your cheque books away people, the Geordie is staying at HOME.

What an excellent idea, i applaud your logic. 🙂 I’ll have a look now and see if i can fish out some names. Sturridge would be good news, loan with view to buy… dont have enough confidence in him from what ive seen to say id snap him up on a 5 year deal straight away!

When he plays well, he’s a great player and put some stunning performances in with Shitty. If we can get him back to where he was 18 months ago, he will do well at NUFC.

He didn’t want to go to Villa, but was forced into it as a make-weight so shitty could get what THEY wanted

Agree with Graeme on15, under mark Hughes he was city star player and got me so many points in the dream team getting star man every week , Mancini didn’t want to play him and the system villa play under houllier doesn’t suit him specially seen as though there golden boy ash young is first name on sheet ,

where gone to Larsson ‘s story?
And we have to get a striker.
i think everyone feels that striker no need to get one because we’ve got points without carroll.but i think we need reliable striker to get a score goal.

Is there anybody else that feels like Ireland is the only signing for Jan. There’s less than half a day guys, we barely sign Ireland, & we don’t even know who the other signings might be. I’m just saying don’t get your hopes up on more players coming in….I would love to see more, don’t get me wrong.

Nice to see a bit more posetive feeling toward ireland. Why is it when a player gets unhappy for any reason people start calling them moaners or mercinary. Ireland must have felt unwanted and under valued to be used as a make weight. He will now be playing for a club who want him for the player he can be instead of a player to fill a hole ust for the sake of having a body in it.

I still dont see how Ireland is a mercenary myself. I mean, the only clubs I know hes played for are Manc El Citeh and Villa, and he got forced into the Villa move.

Will definately be a good signing for us and will prove himself worthy of making the deal permanent by the summer.

Guys a close friend of mine is a football journalist and he is telling me that Liverpool’s bid for Carrol was 25 Million and that Newcastle are claiming it was 30 Million to spark a bidding war. I hope he’s wrong. Bid was rejected though.

    stuart,

he wouldn’t drop his £78k a week wages to come here. Villa still have to find half.
