Stephen Ireland Deal Completed – According To Sky Sports

It looks like Newcastle have at least one new player in today as Sky Sports is reporting the Stephen Ireland loan  deal has been completed.

Stephen Ireland – deal done according to Sky Sports

It’s good to have some good news in on this bad day  for Newcastle – well at least so far.

News is coming through that Newcastle may be after 29 year-old Swedish Striker Johan Elmander, and being flush with cash from the Andy Carroll deal,  the Magpies should be able to persuade Bolton to part with the player today, since his contract runs out in the summer, when he’ll become a free agent.

While he didn’t look too good initially at Bolton, Elmander has so far had a very good season under new Bolton manager Owen Coyle, and maybe could be a decent acquisition by Newcastle.

And there are reports that Newcastle are after Carlton Cole – so we have to hope these are not true.

We  hope more players will come through the door then just Stephen Ireland, in the remaining three hours of the transfer window.

Regarding a new striker – Don’t want an expensive panic buy tonight. Only if the player is quality and worth the cash.

I like Ireland a lot, need that spark back in his game. good direct forward. maybe him and shola or him and ranger could be interesting. I do not know why no one makes a solid run at Forlan? I would pay 20 mil for him right now.

Anybody saying “if you were on £40k a week and you were offered £80k…” maybe I’ve lived in Walker for too long but £40k a week? I’d be quite happy with that – the money is in the shirt and the number, what goes into the bank account is a bonus.

You’re all kidding yourselves if you think doubling your wages, when you’re already on a daft amount of money, would make a difference.

For £40k a week I’d have to save for a few weeks to get the new Jag!

Elmander would do for now, bullied Colo and Williams!

Daniel Sturidge is close to joining Bolton. Very good young player. Would have been a good signing for us. I don’t know, as with Carlos Vela, why we haven’t gone for him.

No option to buy Ireland = he earns too much and we wont buy him on a perm deal

    Sturridge to Bolton? Loan? Perm?

We’ve missed the boat there like, good player and can play on the wings too.
