It may not be true, but with news that Andy is on his way to Liverpool via helicopter to have a medical, agree terms and then presumably sign for them – this doesn’t look good.
Mike Ashley – another huge blunder – he just doesn’t get it
And no wonder poor Alan Pardew has scrapped his press conference today, because he’s had the rug pulled from under his feet by Mike Ashley, and will be searching desperately for another striker to bring in today – and probably on loan.
And they will need to do something to quell the apparent fury of born and bred Geordie fans everywhere, who may witness today the Newcastle owner Mike Ashley selling one of their very own.
Andy was born and bred on the Tyne, and he has come through the Newcastle Academy to be England’s most exciting prospect – and we sell him for the greenback.
Doesn’t Mike Ashley know the Newcastle fans are very proud of Andy Carroll?
Now when he’s knocking them in for England we can only have that painful and empty feeling – that he could have still been at Newcastle United – like Alan Shearer and Jackie Milburn before him.
Maybe Newcastle can use £1Mfo the Carroll fee to bring in Seb Larsson from Birmingham, by offering Birmingham say £1.5M, and offering Seb new terms so he will take the deal – today.
Every Newcastle fan is entitled to their own opinion on this deal – of course they are – and some will think it is worth the £35M – I understand that – and everybody’s opinion has to be respected.
But I will give you my own view on this – from the heart.
I have supported Newcastle United since I was a 4 year old kid back in 1949 – and this to me will be a soul destroying transfer – if it goes through.
It will rip the very guts out of Newcastle’s great and proud history, because that will mean nothing when money is King.
We can kiss goodbye to having any local-born world class players ever playing for Newcastle again under owner Mike Ashley – because it looks like Mike will sell them – when the transfer fee gets high enough.
Shame on you Mike Ashley – and it’s a shameful day for Newcastle United if this deal goes through.
