Derek LLambias Takes Sly Swipe At Alan Shearer

Newcastle manager director Derek Llambias has actually said something today – so that’s news in itself.

Alan Shearer – LLambias takes shot at Alan’s management record

Alan Shearer had responded like any Newcastle fan yesterday, as he thought it was staggering that the club had brought nobody in to replace the iconic striker, and was simply astonished that Newcastle sold Carroll.

But of course they only had 7 hours left and absolutely no negotiating power at all, since everybody knew they had £35M, and wanted to bring somebody in – desperately.

So it was hardly surprising some of the fees given to Newcastle for targets were just ridiculous, because it also meant any selling club couldn’t get in a replacement either.

Derek Llambias told The Sun today:

“Do I care what Alan Shearer has to say?”

“When he ran this football club in 2009 we were relegated after picking up just five points from his eight games in charge.”

Ouch!

Shearer has called for the money the club got for Carroll – £35M (or was it £36M?), to be fully invested in new players in this summer’s transfer window.

But Llambias insisted:

“Owner Mike Ashley has only ever put money into this football club. He has never taken a single penny out.

“And he won’t take a single penny of this £35m either – all the money will go to the club.”

“And we are already working on identifying transfer targets for the summer.”

We have to move on from all of this stuff – and sooner rather than later.

And it’s true that a win tonight at Fulham will bring back just a little bit of the feel good factor on Tyneside.

It’s such an important game tonight – and the result is even more important than the display – we need a win.

Comments welcome.

Erm Wilson, pretty sure the majority of the milner money went on making sure we didnt go under.

Everyone seems to forget that when Ashley took over we were in massive financial trouble thanks to Freddie Shepard.

@Stuart that and paying off loans as far back as Asprilla and Ginola and a deficit wage bill.

Andy Carrol is an arrogant 22 year old, charva whose first mind in most situations it to behave like a thug. He’s done nothing different over the last few days. He isn’t Shearer and he doesn’t bleed black and white. I don’t believe for a second he was ‘pushed’.

Can anyone tell me whose been sold who didn’t either try and hold the club ransom for more money or simply wanted to leave.

Another wonderful absence of memory on this board is that Milner had been trying to jump ship for months and even years before he was sold.

Wilson …how do u think we survive championship with players on wages like barton, collocini, smith, nolan …. you playing in premier league because of one man thats Ashley and his money doesn’t matter if he’s prick or not…even CH wouldn’t have done his magic if he didnt have the kind of players at his disposal.

So many people are beginning to wake up to this guy who owns the club however there are still the few who are so gullible they will believe everything and anything that comes from the within.

KK, Shearer, CH were all used and spat out by this club with Ashley in charge and now they are moving in and cashing in on our very own players. Carroll isn’t blameless ofc but this move was manufactured from the club and Carroll duely obliged.

Ashley is a cancer @ SJP and his 2 muppets Lamearse and Pardew and not much better.

    Wilson,

We couldnt afford the wages because what would happen if we signed AC on £80k a week?

Woud barton still take a wage cut to sign a new contract? Would all the other players on significantly less money just say ‘yeah thats fine’ or would they want parity with AC.

If we increased AC’s wages half the bloody team would want a pay rise.

I love how people come on here and go on about sensible club finances. Liverpool are basically on the same points as us, receive a smaller gate and yet show an ultra competitive attitude towards investment and building the squad. We asset strip and then reel off murky promises about future investment.

So Ashley is balancing the books, imposing a strict wage structure, whoopey doo! Our gate is the 3rd highest in the country – somewhere between Arsenal and the mackems. Our investment in the squad over the past 2/ 3 windows is LESS then Blackpool and west brom.

But hey Ashley’s books look clean, and he’s just pocketed 35mil.

No he didn’t, Llambias said they accepted the offer because the player wanted to leave. He said had the player not wanted to leave they wouldn’t have accepted the offer.

I don’t know who to believe – a set of Cockney wideboys or a 22 year old Gateshead charva who thinks it’s alright to hit people at a consistent rate [regardless of status and responsibility], who is under the influence of sporting agents.

    Oh the dilemma.

I cannot believe some of you lot on here – the evil lap dog slags off a legend who bleeds black and white, and you’re still defending them. Some of you deserve the kicking these arseholes will continue to give you. Pardew has told you yesterday they are now vulnerable to relegation, and his body language betrayed the current low feeling in the dressing. They will get stuffed tonight and on Saturday, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Joey now told them where to stick their contract. Enrique, Tiote, and Nolan all out in the summer, regardless of which league we’re in. The rest of the Premier League are pissing themselves at the thought of some easy picking in terms of points between now and the end of the season, and Chelsea and Man U can’t wait to get their hands on Enrique and Tiote. The arse holes only want these players to sign contracts to make them more valuable in the open market. Some of you need to wake up and realise what is happening or do like being constantly being kicked in the bollocks.

Stuart, ofc Andy wanted more money, his head was turned by the huge offers coming in for him. Imo we didn’t have to match the £80 K we could have raised to £50K for now giving him a wage rise but still less than some older players here like Barton and showing Andy we valued him and wanted him to stay.

    BUT we didn’t even try…………………..

the sad thing is that while shearer is still bitter towards our board, he will continue to talk about us in public and it is rarely positive. he was only just saying at the start of the season that he didnt think andy carroll would become a great striker and now he is moaning at the board for selling him for the 7th biggest transfer fee in the history of world football.

shearer i would have liked your boots clean at one point but i feel like your legend status is tainted by your behaviour on the motd sofa.

why dont you put your ego to the side and gain some management experience in the lower leagues or does the fact you have no charisma or personality make you rubbish at motivating others.

you do not need the money so can you just get off tv so my memories of the greatest striker i have ever seen in my generation, will be good ones again.

People seem to forget that even though we had an unsustainable model with Shepherd in charge, we were regularly in Europe, pulling in the extra revenue and fans and building ourselves as a brand due to having high class players (renegade though some were).

Do you think we would have drawn those two recent games had we had a top quality striker in place to finish off the chances that the strikers we now rely on missed?

Without paying the money you do not get the quality. At the moment we have a number of quality players, not the just the one we just lost, but the fact is over recent years Ashley has made a point of selling quality players – therefore our position now as a selling club rather than one with European ambitions will not change until he is gone.

The summer might prove me wrong but we wont be able to replace the unique talent of Carroll and the goals he would have provided could have steered us to Premiership safety, into Europe and massive extra revenue beyond £35 million over the next five years.

Mr Blatter and Mr Platini are introducing a rule that will ban clubs from competing in the big money of the european cups if they can’t balance their books. Ashley knows this, Manure, Citeh, Chelski and the Bin raiders from Liverpool all posted losses last year (Chelsea posted £70M loss a week before bidding £50M for Torres). Put it simply these teams can be best in the EPL, but they won’t get into the Euros. The millions they will lose from those competitions and the TV losing interest will cripple them.

WTF?? honestly some of you are so clueless.

You really buy all that “We inherited the debt and paid it it off” you are getting from the Board. Its true that some of you deserve the shit that you get from the club, if you are willing to buy into any of it.

Every club operates in debt, we have the 3rd highest attendance, massive amount of merchandise revenue, its total rubbish.

We will not go froward in any way with these in charge, we will sell our best players, and end up fucked but with Ashley making loads of money, if thats what you want then fine. Villa spent 24m on darren bent, they have far less than we do, really.

we wouldnt have carroll for another 4-6 weeks anyway so nothing has changed in the near future and hopefully our strikers can get a run of games and hit some good form.

Shields the ball better, faster, technical better and tremendous strength (ask Liverpool defenders). Carroll was just a Lanky dude when we got relegated.

Not so long ago, there was a lot of shouting on here, that players that didn’t want to be here, should go. But what has happened now? Big Andy wanted to go (handed in a transfer request, so fact) but now it is the board and owner that are scum.

You sound like some schizophrenic who just shout out what the press wants you to.

Yes, we were in Europe when Fat Freddy was here. But for how long? When would we be bank robed? Specially in the financial crises the whole world came in. We were lucky, that Mike Ashley came in to rescue us with his money. And I’m sure that he would have liked to use his money on new quality players instead of the big black hole of loans and other debt.
