Newcastle have not surprisingly announced an unchanged side for the game at Craven Cottage tonight.
That means that local lad Shola Ameobi and Leon Best will get another chance up front, as Alan Pardew plays an attacking 4-4-2 formations, since Fulham’s defense is hardly the best in the league.
The two of them will now have a big chance to impress and claim the striker positions on a permanent basis for the rest of the season, although Lovenkrands and Ranger should both get playing time tonight, depending on how the game turns out in the second half.
This will not be an easy game tonight, with Fulham having won their last four games at Craven Cottage, but they are probably due a defeat – it seems to us. 😀
Youngster Michael Richardson, who has impressed in the Reserves and is still only 18 years old with ginger (red) hair, is on the bench, as are 19 year-olds Shane Ferguson and Nile Ranger.
Surprisingly Mark Hughes has immediately recalled Mark Schwarzer back to the Fulham goal for David Stockdale, after Mark has just returned from the Asian Cup, and a certain Damien Duff, who left Newcastle once they were relegated, starts on the wing for Fulham.
Australia were beaten 1-0 in the final by Japan, who won the cup for an amazing 4th time.
Like all games this is so important, but with all the disappointment and controversy about Andy Carroll, and whether he was shoved or jumped – 3 points is all we want to see tonight.
Howay The Lads!!
Teams:
Fulham: Mark Schwarzer; John Pantsil, Brede Hangeland, Aaron Hughes, Chris Baird; Clint Dempsey, Danny Murphy (c), Steve Sidwell, Damien Duff; Andrew Johnson, Mousa Dembele
Subs: David Stockdale, Carlos Salcido, Simon Davies, Jonathan Greening, Gael Kakuta, Zoltan Gera, Diomansy Kamara
Newcastle: Harper; Simpson Coloccini Williamson Enrique; Barton Guthrie Nolan (c) Gutierrez; Ameobi Best
SubsTim Krul, James Perch, Sol Campbell, Michael Richardson, Shane Ferguson, Peter Lovenkrands, Nile Ranger
