Good News – Tiote Talks About Fantastic Newcastle Fans

2:02 pm, Friday, February 4th, 2011 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 25 Comments

We’ve had a number of emails asking me if I could put out some good news about Newcastle - for a change.

Cheick Tiote - Newcastle favorite back tomorrow

And we understand that, because over the last 5 days, it’s all been bad news, and another mini-crisis at the club – but we stress mini.

The Newcastle club is a great football club, and one big reason for that, known around the world we may add,  is that the club have the best fans in the land.

That’s always been true, and today there is some good news for Newcastle fans on two fronts.

Wait for it!

One is that Newcastle favorite Cheick Tiote returns to play against Arsenal tomorrow, following his 3 game suspension for being sent off at Stevenage.

And the second is that the 24 year-old midfielder has today talked about the unbelievable support the Newcastle fans give their team.

Tiote was not in London on Wednesday night, but watched the disappointing display of the Newcastle side on TV, and he talked today about how excited he is to be returning to play for Newcastle United:

“I can’t wait to get back in action, and if selected, play in front of another crowd of 50,000 fantastic supporters,”

“I saw the game on Wednesday, and it was obviously a disappointing result, but we had done well in the last four league games, and we aim to put on another good performance for our fans.”

“Our supporters are unbelievable, the noise and the passion is incredible, and we would all love to give them something to cheer about come the end of the game.”

“We’ve beaten Arsenal once this season, so as a group of players we know it’s something we’re capable of doing again.”

It’s no mystery why this lad is a huge favorite on Tyneside.

But we’d also mention players like Barton, Coloccini, Gutierrez, Barton, Enrique, Simpson, Harper and others at the club, who are proud to wear the famous black and white shirt of Newcastle United.

And that cannot be all bad.

Comment welcome.

We’ve missed him way too much the past few games.

Also just realised, Enrique is the Bull, Tioté is the Lion… maybe Ashley’s five year plan is to set up a zoo in Newcastle

Just a thought but what will Ashley do when the top forwards club says mike i want £40m for my player, and he wants £120k a week, answer on a post card please. so we know that’s not going to happen, so what do we do, look for gems on the cheap, theirs that poison chalice again, £3m is now £10m, wages were £10,000 a week, now £40-50k a week. So that’s 3 untried & untested players in, !!!! Oh no, I forgot the wages are to be included too, so that’s 2 untried & untested signings. !!!! Oh no I forgot we will not be held to ransom over players, well look on the bright side at least we managed to get James Perch’s younger brother, crap player but he was only £1,000 and hell do it on the fiddle 2 as long as the dole don’t find out. and hell do a shift in rags direct during the week.

Dont lets panic. We have a spectacular player in Stephen Ireland. He’s got angel wings on his back to take us to safety

  • 10 Lynxie // Feb 4, 2011 at 2:28 PM

    Thump,
you forgot to mention that the carthorse got a fractured cheekbone the other night so we are relying upon one of the other two donkeys to get us goals……..

You forgot to mention Lambias The OWL, Pardew – the PARROT, Best – The DONKEY, The SNAKE in the Grass – the everpresent club ‘insider’ and Ashley with the hide of a RHINO who treats fans as cash COWS who go along like LAMBS to the slaughter.
    It’s a right menagerie!

    @Thump

Does that mean we’ve just sold the snake?

However the reptile house is still full of overweight and very slimy creatures.

    i thought ameobi is donkey

  • 17 lewman // Feb 4, 2011 at 4:14 PM

yeah its a shame we are without the horse and the zebra(hughtons hair was kind of stripey black and white) but lions and bulls sound more impressive than horses and zebras anyway.

also i think tiote sounds incredibly modest in the way he says “if selected”. i cant wait to see him in action again as although guthrie has looked better in recent games, he is no match for the powerhouse that is tiote.

i think it would be a good idea to play lovenkrands with nolan up top and maybe give guthrie a go infront of cheick as guthrie can certainly pass the ball and nolan has the strength and composure up top that we have been missing. i also think ranger would do better with kevin sat next to him if we feel the need to make a change later on in the game if we are behind.

Anyone know when Raylor is back ? I wanted rid of him, but once he’s back, he’s very versatile so that will help a lot, and he could play right wing where he wants to play, stick Barton back in the middle and Nolan up with Ranger or Best.

Ireland should be back soon which will a great boost. Wouldn’t mind an update on Gosling from Pards though.

I have supported Newcastle Uniteed man and boy since 1957 in the days of Len White, not missing a single season, even after I moved to Yorkshire making it more difficult to follow my hometown team. Following the ongoing chaos within our club I have decided to call it a day, being fed up to the back teeth with football in general and the situation at Newcastle in particular. I travel 6 hours and 300 miles to watch every home game to fill the pockets of greedy footballers and an even greedier owner, only to be treated with utter contempt by both camps. Whether the blame for Carroll’s departure lies with the player, his agent or Mr Ashley is irrelevant to me anymore, all I know if I’m being taken for granted and won’t stand for it any longer. I’ve decided to go and watch a local non league side where at least a bit of honesty prevails and the lads on the park are there because they want to be, not for over inflated pay packets rivalled only by even bigger egos. I’ll always support NUFC in my heart but no longer through my wallet……after years of abuse I’ve finally seen the light.

I don’t blame you at all. After all the years of support you’ve given the club you deserve to rest and relax. Ashley is testing many of us at the moment. He’ll discover that many will leave, yet many will stay. NUFC is a great club with tremendous supporters who do not deserve the lack of respect given by its owners lately. I’ll stay on as a Toon supporter for now, but if Ashley continues his cruel ways I too may part for quieter pastures.

Thank God Tiote is back so Kev Nolan can play up front with Best . Hope we get a Good result Against Arsenal . is Ireland Fit to Play ??

  • 22 Thump // Feb 4, 2011 at 6:53 PM

@geoff: Newcastle has too many reptile houses mate. Ashley appears to be a very astute business man by not getting into direct competition with them.

  • 23 Brutooon // Feb 4, 2011 at 11:51 PM

Nolan performances (Scoring and Assisting) depend on whether Tiote playing or not.

When Tiote play, Nolan dont need to worry about doing the ugly part of defending.

    2-0 to the toon

  • 24 hisnameisjonas // Feb 5, 2011 at 12:19 AM

    @mashearer

    na man…
    Ameobi is Bambi.

    and jonas is a gaselle
