It was a big discussion on this site yesterday, and it seems that Alan Pardew is officially interested in French free agent striker Jeremie Aliadiere.
Jeremie Aliadiere – brought in on loan?
Jeremie started his career at Arsenal, and then moved to Middlesbrough in 2007, and he’s a talented player, but for whatever reason has always found it hard to put the ball in the back of the net, but he is an experienced player, and still only 27 years old.
He played around 29 times for Arsenal with one goal, and played 78 times for Middlesbrough with 11 goals, but his presence at Newcastle will not only be to put the ball into the back of the net.
With his experience, he can also create chances for other players – like Peter Lovenkrands and Kevin Nolan for example, who have showed they can put that ball into the net.
It was mentioned that Pardew and Aliadiere hadn’t seen eye to eye when they were at West Ham (2005-2006) together.
But it seems to us that Alan Pardew doesn’t seem to bear grudges, and he’s mature enough to put that in the past, which is what it is, and if Newcastle do go after Jeremie, we hope the Frenchman can do that too.
We would expect to hear something quite soon about who Newcastle will be bringing in – and they could even bring two strikers in.
Then hope one of them can get the job done for the rest of the season, and Newcastle will have to make it profitable enough for the loan player(s), because the Tyneside club have put themselves into a difficult position.
