Joey Barton To Sign New Deal Next Week?

Alan Pardew has said today that he expects Joey Barton to sign his new contract at Newcastle next week.

Joey Barton – signing new deal next week?

And if that happens it will be a huge relief to Newcastle fans, because in yesterday’s local papers there were rumors that some Newcastle players were unhappy with the Carroll transfer, and that in particular Joe Barton would not be signing his new contract.

The news was that he would hold out until the summer, to see what Newcastle would do in the transfer market.

It seems that story is just not true, we hope that story is not true, and certainly Joey signing a new deal to stay on Tyneside, will be a huge relief to the fans.

And the other news this morning is that Jose Enrique will start negotiating his new deal, but only when Newcastle are safe from relegation.

Jose Enrique

If anybody saw Jose’s interview after the Fulham defeat, it’s hard to think this lad has any plans to leave Newcastle at all, and he even thought the Carroll deal was good for Andy, and especially good for the club.

And he seemed more committed than ever to Newcastle, and once this lad is signed up, it will be great news for the fans and the club.

These two Newcastle favorites  deserve extra praise, because they could get better deals elsewhere, but they are staying where their hearts are – and are willing to commit long term to Newcastle United.

That’s exactly what we want to see.   Good on them!

Comments welcome.

    Great news, hope it’s true.

Barton , Enrique, Arfa, Collo, Tiote are the core of our club.

that will add another few million to their price tags come summer when they’ll be flogged to the highest bidder, sorry meant to say the club will emphatically state they are all ‘NOT FOR SALE’…….

Now if we could just find a decent manager.
This is what pardew does, takes teams down and destroys morale.

if we somehow survive this season, we are stuck with pardew’s mediocrity for another year. Ashley, llambias and pardew are the worst collection of creeps and liars you’d ever find operating in one place.

36M was too much to turn down, but to have no planning for such an eventuality is just a joke.
Qataris, Americans, anybody please come and buy us.

Not trying Routledge as a striker in the bellamy role and publically saying he’s not good enough, as he also did about krul, possibly the best young keeper in Europe, says it all about Pardew’s limitations. man mangement you’re having a laugh.

Ed being a bit naive there about Enrique. Didn’t carroll say he would never leave. money talks, they’re human beings.

Good if Barton does sign he’s been a star since he game back from the last foot injury.

I used to look at our team sheet and think if we bought a couple of better players a year we’d be challenging for trophies in a couple of years.

Now I still have a horrible hollow feeling inside.
    Dreams shattered.

    I hate Pardew – he’s a lousy manager.

He said his job was to open Ashley’s wallet …
and we thought it was to take cash out to buy players …

We’re all mugs supporting this owner and his puppet Championship manager.

masher – 777 is not that far from the mark

Ashley and co continues to run the club his way – making money where he can, no real desire to achieve trophys, not bothered about the fans/customers – sounds just like sportdickhead.

Now a few aempty stadiums would help – but unfortunately the real supporters wiill never let that happen!!! Why??? if money is what Ashley lives for, starve the fooka. So what if he sells a few more players – he has proven this week that any offer is considered and his spineless cronies go along with it.

If not the fans cant protest – as they are willingly funding the regime and its acts

Fact is, Carroll would not have been in the team today anyway so we may as well suck it up and get on with what we’ve got. I hope Ranger and Best get a start because I reckon Arsenal’s backs can still be bullied and its our best chance of success. That and the fact they reckon they have the points in the bag already.
