There is a report out in the Daily Mirror that says Andy Carroll may be out of action for the rest of the season.
Andy Carroll – Liverpool player
We heard about this earlier today, but it cannot be confirmed, but we did mention it in one of our earlier articles today.
It seems that Newcastle never did get to the bottom of Andy’s thigh injury, and we also heard nothing from his visit to the specialist in Sweden.
He went to the northern part of Sweden a week last Friday, to meet with a world expert on thigh injuries, before the unexpected transfer to Liverpool happened three days later.
But Andy passed his Liverpool medical, so obviously the Liverpool medical staff, at the time, didn’t think it much of a problem.
Carroll suffered the injury at Tottenham, at the end of December in Newcastle’s 2-0 defeat, and he has never played since, and the report suggests the injury may need more treatment and more time to heal than was first thought.
After the injury happened, Newcastle kept saying he could be ready for the next game, and he was even expected to be ready for the derby game against Sunderland on 16th January, which Andy was anxious to play in, but of course he never made it.
It seems the thigh hasn’t healed much at all , so it seems a bit of a mystery right now.
Andy has always been a little injury prone, and kept getting little knocks that kept him out of games, but all last year he wasn’t affected much by injury, when he notched 16 goals in the second half of last season, and then 11 goals in the Premier League.
This news is not official, but we have heard rumors today that he’s out for the season, and we wonder exactly what kind of injury it is, that could keep him out for almost four months.
There was an article in the Sun a few weeks ago, that reported he could be out for two months, and we thought that was a typical Sun made-up article – but maybe not.
Of course it is of little concern to the Newcastle United club now, because he’s left the club for pastures anew.
We’ll update this if we get more information tonight.
Comments welcome.

Comment #41I give a damn about Liverpool. It’s called “Schadenfreude”. In English there is no word for it. But it means something like, damage joy. I will never ever forget them taking the pee out of us when we went down. Seems like the long haired lover from Liverpool has.

Not a very flattering picture of the lad, looks like his head has been glued onto someone else, Torres perhaps. .
. .and that must be the famous Anfield boot room, or is he in a shoe shop?

Comment #54Little concern to us !? I don’t think so. Carroll is not Newcastle player anymore and I don’t care what’ll happen to him now.

Comment #57howay the lads, its almost 11 pm stateside, ive had a few pints and some pulls of the jamison irish whiskey. Truthh salways comes out whenn your drinkin. F&%k Judas Carroll. He sold us up the river for 30 pieces of silver and didnt even get the better end of the deal. I m starting to like the fat man a little. I think he new Carroll could be done forrever and when 35 mil quid came up, he did what any of us would have done if cARROLL demanded more money, he sold the fake geordie’s punk @ss to a punk@ass team. HAHAHAHA well done for the stupid red sox yank owners lol. i hate the red sox here in the states just like i hate liver drool in england. Their owner really hurt alot of working class people here stateside getting his money and i hope he goes bankrupt trying to fix the holes in tyhe sinking ship that is liver drool with their shite stadium and 300 mil quid in debt…lol
Sorry mates the saem yank who owns liverdrool owns the boston red sox baseball club in the states… i hate the red sox in baseball they swept my st louis cardinals in the world series a couple years back broke my heart but we won the series 2 years later and got th e last laugh as we will with liverdrool when we win a trophy before them and carroll never plays for em .

Comment #66Completley off the subject, but have read that Kyle Walker at Villa has been called up or England. The lads a quality player, but once again Capello can’t bring himself to watch games in the North East!
Newcastle have had an unbelievable season when you consider pundits like Andy ‘ someone tell her the offside rule’ Gray tipped us to head straight back out the league. But we are a very English based side, compared to most sqauds. Yes Andy Carroll finally got a chance, but players like Barton, Nolan, Harper and Simpson should have had call ups!
Walker and not Simpson ? I give up on England !

Comment #67Eentersting…. if it turns out that Carroll is out for the season, then we’re a darn site better off than had he been with us.
If Carroll turns out to be another Woodgate, then I’d be most disappointed that Liverpool weren’t alerted to the possibilty……. tee hee!!

Comment #69Reports today that both Aliadiere AND Ewerthon are in talks with us.
I’m not an Aliadiere fan, but I’d love Ewerthon to join up – if we get Aliadiere as well, then he’ll help to make up the numbers.

Comment #70Didn’t we loan Rossi from Man United a few year ago? And he completely flopped for us, or at least I can’t remember much good to come from him. Heard he’s highly rated now though.

Comment #72I think that Ashley & co knew that Carroll wouldn’t play again this season. As long as we buy someone exciting to replace Carroll then it’s good business. From an England viewpoint I hope Carroll’s injury isn’t serious and he plays next season.

Comment #73I remember we had Rossi on loan a few years ago off Man U, when Glen Roder was manager.. Dont think the lad got a game. I watch alot of spanish footy and the kid is alot better now and i think harry ‘lazy eye’ redknap was lookin for him.. But the guy is tiny like oba martins but no strength,, he wouldnt have a look in against center halfs in the EPL. Y dont we do wat spurs do and get in a striker coach who has been there done it and wore the t-shirt to bring Leon and Nile along as i think these 2 hav great potential. Spurs hav Sir Les i think we could maybe get Andy Cole or even Peter Beardsley off da reserves.

Comment #74There will be a clause in the contract regarding the injury and games played – if he is crocked I wouldn’t laugh out too loud yet !!
As far as Simpson for England , he’s no better than Perch !!!!!
