Cheick Tiote – We Will Now Try To Win Every Single Game

Newcastle looked a good organized team at Blackburn, and it seemed in the end, that  Blackburn were happy enough with their point, although they were booed off the field after Newcastle had completely bossed the game, in the second half.

Cheick Tiote – in action on Saturday

It seems that former Newcastle striker  Oba Martins, who left the club after Newcastle were relegated, will play for Birmingham, so let’s hope he doesn’t score.

Newcastle’s Cheick Tiote, who had another enterprising and busy performance against Blackburn on Saturday afternoon, and who is a huge favorite with the Newcastle crowd, said that Newcastle will go to the Midlands tomorrow night, looking for a win.

The midfielder told the Evening Chronicle today:

“We do not fear anybody.” “Birmingham is our next game and we go there to win.”

“I don’t think there is a team to be scared of in the Premier League.”

“Maybe we can finish higher – sixth or seventh? We have to work together and keep playing well.”

And one huge difference with the squad of two years ago, with today’s lads,  is there are no cliques in the dressing room, and our lads these days will fight to the death, as witnessed only 9 days ago against Arsenal, when the lads produced the greatest come-back in Premier League history.

Cheick continued:

“Everybody here is close.” “We are all good friends and that is not the same at every club. We work together and have the same hard-working mentality within the group.”

“This much was obvious when Shefki Kuqi arrived here.” “When you have a new player, you have to help him.”  “We believe we can win every game we play now.”

“You look at what happened against Arsenal and it gave us so much belief against one of the best teams in Europe.” “You saw that at Blackburn and they came off the field happy to draw with us.”

“It was the same against Sunderland and Spurs – they were happy with a point.” “If we want to stay in the Premier League we need to try to win every game – and that is what we are trying to do.”

“I think we had a chance to win the game.” “If you have the most chances in the match you have take them.”

Newcastle must keep all  their good players in the summer, but we must say we have our doubts, following the Andy Carroll affair in late January.

And if Leon Best doesn’t produce before the end of the season, we could well see Leon move on,  and at least two big strikers brought into the club.

Maybe big free agent Johan Elmander from Bolton, and young 17 year-old super-star Connor Whickham from Ipswich Town, who stands 6’3″ tall already, and he’s probably still growing.

Those two would be great buys for Newcastle this summer, for different reasons.

But first of all we are only looking for PL survival this season, and 3 points tomorrow night will aid that goal immensely.

Just another good if not great player who’ll be touted in the summer and sold for a profit.

We still have some tough games but we desperatley need some points from the next 5 matches. Good having Tiote on our side though.

it seems obvious but shouldn’t you be trying to win every game? Why does it need saying ?

why are we always looking for big strikers Ed?
manu have got Rooney, Hernandez and Berba.
all techincal footballers with good ground skills.

I get so sick of all these hit and hope crosses all the time which 99 times out of 100 are always headed away.

i think we have to realise that players are going to move on lets be realistic , dont get me wrong i would love to see our top players stay with us forever but being realistic thats not going to happen if we sold tiote for 15mil and jose for 15 mil in summer then thats money to reinvest ( hopefully!!) i hope and would prefere them to stay but lets be honest we are not in position to turn down ‘silly’ money are we. there are only a few clubs in world that can tuen down any bid for a player and we are not one of them

i agree with cheick though – proper spirit in our squad now that will see us through till rebuilding in summer

Berba is the big striker than can hold the ball up very well. As is Drogba, Torres, Suarez, even Ven Persie plays that role quite a bit.

You need someone up top that the ball will be retained by so that other players have time to support… i.e AC did this for Nolan, and all the above top 4 players do this for their respective teams.

The problem with our current strikers is that the ball seems to bounce striaght off them and back to the oppenents because they dont hold the ball up very well.

our big strikers – shola, best and ranger are all big yes but also they dont have a first touch between them ! thats the difference in this league need to hold a ball up so HBA , jonas , nolan and co can join in

for me in the summer we need a player who can hold the ball up if there 6ft+ or 5ft 2 i dont mind

The most important thing is to try and get the Bull to sign a new contract! Although i fear a mega bid from ManU or Chelski! If it comes in the summer he,ll be gone just as quick as Carroll was! Ash has already made his intentions clear!

Liverpool are really starting to piss me off just recently! Poaching all the best players outside the so called big four. After Carroll went i don,t trust Fat Ash or llamb bollocks as far as i could throw them!
As for future transfers, i,ll believe them when i see them

We should be delighted our best players are attracting the interest of the best clubs.

It means somthing has been done right lately!

And we are a trading club. Of course we are!

We’re not ready to compete with the very best yet, look how long it have taken, and still takes, Spurs, Villa, Everton, sunderland to build. It’s our first season back in the PL.

higgin, wolves paid about 6-7 nmillion for doyle and he has hardly been a flop considering their playing style so i think we would atleast need to match what they paid for him, but i agree it would be a good move for away games as he is hard working, can play up top on his own and would give our wingers plenty of oppurtunities to score even if he is not that prolific himself.

scoutseller, what on earth are you talking about, sholas first touch is probably one of the best in the whole league, its just his second touch and passing are sometimes abysmal. the way he can just scoop the ball out the air and it sticks to his foot is awesom but every other part of his game is pretty average apart from his finishing with his feet that is decent.
