Newcastle To Move Five Players Out This Summer

Newcastle now have 35 points with 11 games left, and we probably need just two more wins to be safe this season – which was always Newcastle’s number one goal.

Xisco – Newcastle will move him out – if they can!

So with that in mind it may be safe to look ahead to the summer, and we know Newcastle will be strengthening their side with new players coming in, but also they will probably want to unload a few of the players, who can no longer do a job on Tyneside.

The first player in this category is Xisco, and of course he left on loan back to his former club Deportivo, on the same day we lost Andy Carroll.

So he could have had a chance to stake a claim again if he had stayed, but that was not to be.

Newcastle will try to move out Xisco in the summer, either on loan or permanently, but the 24 year-old will not be keen to leave Newcastle with his contract paying around £50K/week through the summer of 2013.

We also think that Alan Smith will leave in the summer, because with a second bad injury to his ankle, it’s going to be very difficult for Alan to come back and play near his best, and he can hardly get his place in the Newcastle side with Cheick Tiote looking so good.

And Alan has already had to alter the way he plays football,  because of  the first bad injury on the ankle he picked up when he was at  Manchester United.

So it could be a good time for the 30 year-old to move on – but the lad’s has done the job at Newcastle.

Alan was one of the senior players who got us out of the Championship at the very first attempt last seaosn, and Newcastle fans will never forget that, and Alan is just a great guy of course.

Sol Campbell’s gamble on joining Newcastle has just not worked out,  and now he is the 4th choice center back at Newcastle, with Coloccini, Steven Taylor and Mike Williamson all showing top form this season.

So unless something dramatic happens before the end of the season, we don’t expect Sol to be aorund in August, although he may want to join the Newcastle coaching staff.

Wayne Rutledge probably has no future on Tyneside, and it wouldn’t surprise us one little but if he moves permanently to QPR, and that is even more likely if QPR get promoted to the Premier League, so Newcastle will at least get their money back on this player.

Players who may be borderline are Leon Best, James Perch, Peter Lovenkrands and Ryan Taylor.

But with Best and Lovenkrands looking good last night, we don’t expect them to leave, unless they collapse in the last 11 games.

James Perch seems to be improving and also seems to have the confidence of new manager Alan Pardew, so we think he’ll stay as a solid squad player, and it really depends with Ryan Taylor what happens in the last 11 games of the seaosn,.

But Ryan is an excellent squad player and we don’t want to see him leave, but he may want to move on if he doesn’t get enough playing time under Alan Pardew.

The fifth one to leave will of course be Shefki Kuqi, who has a short term contract through the summer.

So that’s Xisco, Alan Smith, Sol Campbell, Wayne Routledge and Shefki Kuqi to move out in the summer.

Of course if we are to have a good side next season we need to keep our best players like Cheick Tiote and Jose Enrique.

That’s the four we think will be moved out – who do you think should leave?

Comments welcome.

    Ed,

Alan Smith on “his best” was during his leeds years. after that he is a player who cant pass, cant tackle, anonymous 95% of the time.

Xisco – high wages and not good enough (eventhough some would said he is not be given lots of chances).

Routledge- back to championship where he belong. good SPRINTER but cant cross, cant beat defenders and his passing is all BACKWARDS

Campbell – good mentor for the young defender, future coach
Perch or Raylor – we need to keep one, the other transfer out.
Best & Lovenkrands – good backup for the main striker

I think must of us have allready proposed those players out, so no problems there as we move on from championship class players. The best clubs used to have a rule of thumb of 2 in 2 out each year and that should be our aim once we are established as a PL outfit.

I agree that we need to remove the dead wood & replace them with better, younger player but I can’t see us getting rid of Best, not now, not after 5 goals in 7 games, that should make him at least our No2 striker after buying a new No1 striker in the summer… 🙂

As for those leaving, their wages alone should be able to account for an increase in some of our current players wages like El Toro & Tiote at least, if we get shot of Xisco, the split his wage between those 2 players so that they both extend there contracts… indeed killing 2 birds with 1 stone as they say … lol

Agree about Campbell as defensive coach. Good idea, if he’s up for it.
We need to keep the spine of our side. Collocini, Enrique, Tiote and Barton.
Cannot understand why we are in danger of losing Tiote – he’s only just signed this season FGS !
As for Connor Whickham. He looks clumsy, but then so did Carroll I suppose.
Enrique and Barton’s contracts MUST be sorted ASAP.
I’d like to see Ireland and Gosling producing. Gosling is very keen, but I think maybe next season now. But Irelands loan, isn’t he ?

Yup I agree with everyone else. Now we should really hold our best players and buy quality. If we do that and get few injuries next season then Europe is almost a certainty after this seasons evidence. All out progress this season and without the likes of Ben Arfa, Gosling and Ireland is fantastic. We needed the 3 points last night and after our promising displays under Pardew I now think we will survive and possibly end in the top half. Who knows if we keep playing in this form we might even clinch a Europa spot this season. Now that what almost guarantee we keep the likes of Jose Enrique, Barton and Tiote. It would also be a further attraction to our summer transfer targets.

I think he’ll let Enrique and Tiote go in the summer. Enrique because his contract is running low and Tiote because we’ll get another huge offer if he keeps on playing the way he is at the moment. I’m just coming to terms with the loss of Carroll at the moment but if those two go in the summer i’ll be almost suicidal.

If we could just for once keep our best players under ashley. and spend at least 20 million of the 35, which I don’t think will happen by the way then we could really push on next year.

Free Giveaways: You really want N’Zogbia back?

Think about the way he conducted himself when he was here before. The guy’s a prize C**T and was extrememly disruptive. As team now, we are united because the players are all friends and fight for each other. The lsat thing we want is some jumped up little tw@ who couldn’t stopp waving his backside at Arsenal and Spurs and, when niether of them came in for him, he went to Wigan, for the weakest of reasons, saying that he wanted to play for a team with ambition.

    You want this guy?

    Really?

Also, Routledge has been fantastic at QPR since he went back. Did we miss something? I don’t think it’s as simple as “he’s a great Championship player and an average EPL player”.

For me, I’d ship Smudge, if he doesn’t retire at the end of the season. Depends how bad his injury. He’s been a good servant, whatever you think of him. Thanks Smudger.

Xisco should go, not because I don’t think he’s good enough, just because he is wasting away on the bench. He needs football and I don’t think he’ll get it here.

Kuqi won’t be here anyway, and Best will have to remain consistent for the rest of the season if he wants to stay. Same with Lovenkrands.

Perch has a lot to learn, but he could be great and his versatility could be useful in the future, but if we get a good offer for him, I won’t complain. Same with Raylor. I really like Raylor, but he’s at least second best in any of the positions he plays in. Also, he’s not going to be happy to sit on the bench for the rest of his career.

I don’t know who we should bring in yet; that’s something to think about closer to the time for us supporters (though I’d like to think that the wheels are already in motion at the club). The most important piece of business we do in the next window will be tying down Enrique, Tiote, Barton and Gutierrez and not accepting any bids or transfer requests.

Have to agree with Ed on the targets to move out – i know Smudger is past his best but i think he commands a huge presence in the dressing room so if he was kept onboard it wouldnt be the end of the world. I love the idea of Sol as a defensive coach but after the whole CH affair i think he has fallen out of love for the club (not that he had much) and i expect him to move on.

In terms of transfers i’m a big fan of Connor Wickham – a lot of clubs will be sniffing around for him but if we can get him, it will be a huge plus for us.

Come on Ed, what’s this all about. At 6m and 65k a week, do you seriously think that Alan Smith “has done the job at Newcastle”?! He’s been awful from day one. He was not too bad last year, but that was against very poor opposition.

A disastrous signing, almost as bad as Nicky Butt. Take notes, Pards – don’t buy from Sir Alex.

Completely agree with the five mentioned.
We need a fourth centre back and Campbell is a great 4th choice let’s be honest, especially whilst Kadar is still finding his feet.
Routledge, yes because Pardew is putting his faith in Lua Lua a younger better home grown prospect.
Smith and Xisco have been here long enough and never done anything.
    Kuqi is tempory at best.
I would also make a case for Loven because at a top flight club you need 4 strikers and with Shola, Best and Ranger plus the promise of a new signing we have our 4! That’s not even mentioning the prospect of elmander!
Hope desperately we sign Wickham and would
Like to see the another winger in the mould of Ben Arfa to play off the big striker, the french lad we’ve been linked with or even Zog! ( I think )

@boater:- Yep I was thinking just that.
As for transfers some guys are suggesting waste of time transfers attempts such as Hazard, Neymar etc, we need to be realistic and just because we have some money does not mean we get whoever ask for. We will be in competetion with the big boys because unless I am mistaken this transfer window is the last before the financial fair play rules come into affect by FIFA so expect this to be a very very competitive market.

Ed you say Xisco won’t budge on £50K a week, what makes you think Smith will on 60k a week !!

Smith is a hanger on who played half a season last season. We hardly needed him at all. He’s a moronic thug who can’t create or score, but is adept at collecting yellow and red cards.

Loven is quite classy but nearly 32

    Campbell is 36

How in anybody’s mind is Perch getting better !!!

    Best is improving.

Routledge should have been tried as a second striker, not a winger.

    Guthrie…..there’s probably better out there.

    Shola is here for life.

    Keep the rest.

How about going for Wellbeck he has looked really good at Sunderland and if Fergie is willing to let him go then we could get him for about 5 million a bit more realistic than paying over double that for someone who isn’t even proven in the championship yet. I would even be willing to get another one over on the mackems and bring in Onuoha from Man City for again round 5 million and straight away we have two young promising players with a combined cost of 10 million.

like for like replacements that are better players and a saving off around 3 million and gets rid of smith and xiscos massive wages wages, add to that kada coming through to replace campbell and Sylvain Marveaux also available on a free and we will still have an untouched 35 million to replace carroll.

Would be fun to have Bendtner and N’zogbia here as some of you suggests. I’m thinking Carroll will come back to newcastle only for the chance break Zoggys jaw, and on first night out Bendter will have a cigar put out in his eye.

With those two in, the team spirit that will keep us up this season will make way for the spirit that took us down.

Might as well see if we can get Luque back. Anyone in for El-hadji Diouf, he’s class?

Agree with Sheznufc; I’ll take Shola over Bendter any day.

I’m think better Newcastle sell Ameobi also…
For my opinion he always injured. He not like ‘scoring machine’ always walking in the pitch and very slow. Many season with Newcastle but always not put himself like top striker in Newcastle.

Maybe for next season we can try to put Ben Arfa to became striker pair with Best or Rangers.

I really hope if Newcastle can use this tactical for next season

Harper/Krul or New Signing – Goalkeeper
    Simpson – Right
    Williamson – Center
    Colocinni – Center
    Jose Enrique – Left
    Ben Arfa – Attacking Right/Strikers?
    Jonas – Attacking Left
    Nolan/Tiote – Midfield
    Barton/Tiote – Midfield
    Best/New Signing – Strikers
    Ranger/New Signing – Strikers

    Player should out for Newcastle
    1. Xisco
    2. Alan Smith
    3. Ameobi
    4. Lovankrands
    5. Campbell

Hope player can join Newcastle for next season
    1. Adebayor – loan to Real Madrid also good buy if Newcaslte bid this player
    2. Andrew Johnson – i believe many not agree with me
    3. Roman Pavlyuchenko – this player want out from Spurs better buy this player
    4. Sergio Aguero – maybe he not join Newcastle but try to bid it
    5. Sergio Asenjo – Spanish goalkeeper for backup if Harper or Krul injured or both want to leave Newcastle
